Every time I go in armed with some article about bottles you can get in PA, the W+S stores don't actually have the recommended bottles in stock.
And then there's some magical quality of Wine&Spirits store construction that seems to block cel service no matter which store I'm in, so I can never even look up information about the bottles that are on the shelves.
Anyone found anything especially good? All price-points, origins and grapes welcome.

Swung by Bourbon & Branch earlier this week because I was craving their Chipotle Chicken Pasta and walked into a whole new menu change.
I figure it’s a cost/ingredient thing but still hurts to lose a menu really enjoyed

never hear anyone talk about Olea but i just had such a delicious meal here tonight. byob, cash only, very intimate + cozy space w/ kind staff. a true hidden gem if you will
they start with free pita & hummus! hummus was some of the best ive had… so smooth, creamy and lemony. pita was warm too
we got the arugula and beet salad. bright and refreshing with picked onions and feta plus the orange vinaigrette + balsamic
heard that the lobster rigatoni is a must order and hoooooly cow… i could’ve licked my plate clean. it has a cacio y pepe sauce with some truffle as well. good portion of lobster in there. a new top pasta dish for me!

Looking for a rad venue for my 30th birthday party this winter.
•must be wheelchair-accessible
•likely up to 30 guests
•mocktail options (I don’t drink)
•either providing food / drink / cake or allowing outside food
•allowing DJ
•dance space
•drag performers allowed
•ideally would have some sort of activity/game as well like pool, arcades, something else
•no outdoor space as it’ll be winter unless I guess there’s an optional part with strong heaters & covering

Returning to Philly for a brief trip soon and having trouble finding somewhere for Sunday dinner, 2 people. Sunday seems to be a tricky night because many spots are closed. We would love to try Little Fish, South Sichuan, Sao, or Mawn but all are closed Sundays. I would prefer going to a new spot (for me) rather than returning somewhere I've been, maybe Asian or Mediterranean but open to all suggestions. Thanks folks!
Some of my favorites:
Kalaya
Fiorella
Tulip
Murph's
Middle child clubhouse
Parc
Dumpling garden
EMei
Terakawa
Jaffa bar
El chingon

I enjoyed this place and would have completely missed it if I wasnt following maps.
The people were really nice and the espresso and desserts were really good!
I want to go back and try the different desserts

Any recommendations for good breakfast spots in center city?
r/PhiladelphiaEats • u/iamuues • 1d ago
The news articles circulating don’t mention a specific reason for the abrupt closure. I went there for their opening festivities but haven’t been there since. Does anyone care to share their experience or knowledge on the closing?

Del Rossi's or Angelo's. Who does the better cheesesteak?

My wife and friends are on a trip to Philly! I’d like to order them some desserts for delivery as a fun surprise, but a lot of desserts don’t travel well. What would you recommend that’s local, tasty, and deliverable? Thanks!

Food industry people from New York spending the day tomorrow in Chadds Ford and staying in Bryn Mawr. Where can we have dinner Saturday night in either place or on route where we will feel like we had a good meal? Doesn't have to be upscale but it should be delicious and a nice experience. TIA!

It was already kinda expensive, but then they charged me $3 to add bok choy to my cup of chicken and scallion soup. I balked, but hey veggies are essential. Once I got my order, I took it back to the counter because I didn't see any bok choy in there, just dumplings and scallions. The woman at the counter said, "no they're in there. We add 2 leaves, they're just chopped up."
2 leaves!! For $3?? That's more than a dollar per leaf y'all!
She was kind enough to add 2 more leaves (like a spoonful), but said that's all management would let them do.
Had to vent. Thanks for reading! Do avoid.
