She was brave calm and at peace. The vet and tech, both Women( my lucy not a man fan) were kind soft and perfect. I had a spot lying on the floor but my girls spot is the corner of the couch, vet said it perfect, so this was where i let her go. Candles her spot and toys, her playlist. I watched her take the last breath easily and drift away.
Leaving to the desert to mourn with her brother Leo who is ok, but 120lbs in my camper van, we just make it. A sunset cheers to her and some dancing under the stars, to help with the ache.
She was perfect coming to me, perfect by my side and perfect in the leaving me🥲.

I just came home from a night of drinking. First time out in a while since I had my first kid. Saw some friends I haven’t seen in a while. My wife put the baby down and the house is quiet. I walk in and instantly hear the ear flap of a land seal awaking. A pitter patter of the three stories of clicky clackies all way down to first floor to greet me with a wagging tail and smooches. I grab some water and lay on the couch to get some hydration before I go rest up. She jumps up snuggles in and lets out a big sigh. Oh how lucky am I to feel the love of this beautiful soul.

I run a crew on site most days so Im on my feet constantly but its not the kind of activity that helps my boy Tank burn much mental energy. Hes a 3 year old mix we rescued last fall and hes built like a tank which is how he got the name. Great dog but when we get a stretch of bad weather or I am dealing with the stepkids schedules he gets restless and starts finding his own entertainment if you know what I mean. Last month he shredded a bag of flour I had on the counter for a bread recipe I was trying out of a new cookbook. Lesson learned there.

My pit mix is going to be 15. She is getting age lumps and bumps but otherwise healthy. I want her to live forever. How long did your pit mix live?

One year ago today, I stumbled upon a post in my local subreddit where someone found this handsome gentleman in her yard. She couldn't keep him, and long story short I drove into the city and rescued the newest member of our family.
