Nobody seemed to give Dolly Parton shit for not expressing political views. Metallica donates tons of money to homeless shelters at every city they tour in, have given tons of money to schools in competitions for their marching bands to use their music, allow as much usage of their music in cover songs/bands that they legally can while still holding right to their IP.
THIS!!!!!! Redditors get soooooooo angry over a celebrity going against politics but Dolly Parton says āI donāt do politicsā, and she gets a complete pass. These people donāt think for themselves.
" While avoiding formal party politics, she was vocal about social and humanitarian causes close to her heartāsuch as supporting LGBTQ+ rights, women's equality, working-class labor rights (through her iconic song and movie 9 to 5), and childhood literacy via her Imagination Library."
Make of that what you will but that is all very political.
