Im worried that democrat victories this midterm will make Trump & Cronies even more unhinged . There’s no telling what new lows they’ll stoop to when they think they have nothing more to lose

22

u/MechaCoqui Sipping tea 12h ago

Well given how they responded with the 2020 results, they more then likely will either stage a coup again or cause a horrible event themselves and use that as an excuse for refusing to leave congress.

They know they are screwed if dems take the House. No way Dems don’t investigate all of them, ties to Epstein, corruption and so on. Cause exposing that stuff would easily keep Congress blue, for years.

-16

u/Ok_Satisfaction3460 11h ago

The Dems won't do a damn thing. They're spineless. Everytime they get into power they do nothing with it.

13

u/MechaCoqui Sipping tea 11h ago

Okay vlad.

-5

u/Ok_Satisfaction3460 11h ago

I'm sorry the truth bothers you.

1

u/AnewTest 5h ago

We'll let you know when you finally hit on the truth.

21

u/MetaCardboard 12h ago

Go vote blue. The only way to stop this without violence is to put Democrats in power.

0

u/Ok_Importance6244 9h ago

Are you saying that because you thing Republicans will cascade to violence... Or because the Democrats will resort to violence if they don't get their way?

5

u/MetaCardboard 9h ago

Republicans are already using violence against us. Have you seen ICE? Have you seen Trump going after his political opponents with the doj? If we don't stop him, and the Republicans who support him (like 95% of Republicans) then the violence against us Americans (conservatives and liberals alike) will only get worse.

-1

u/Ok_Importance6244 8h ago

Didn't liberal supported initiatives used violence during the riots?

Didn't the Biden administration try to weaponize the law against Trump as well?

What is it you truly support? Justice itself, or ideology?

5

u/MetaCardboard 8h ago

The answer to your first two questions is No. What is it I support? I support the freedom for all people to live their lives as they wish, as long as they aren't causing harm to others or preventing them from living the lives they wish to live, within the same constraints.

0

u/Ok_Importance6244 8h ago

Your answer of "no" is a lie, even if you believe it.

The problem with what you're supporting is that many people disagree on those "constraints" and what constitutes "harm", and your response is to lash out and equate them to the most evil of our kind.

-18

u/Ok_Satisfaction3460 11h ago

It's cute you think those worthless bastards will do anything.

14

u/MetaCardboard 11h ago

It's better than not voting, or voting for the fascists. If they don't stop them then they get to eat pitchforks too.

-6

u/Ok_Satisfaction3460 11h ago

Good luck with that.

10

u/manateefourmation 11h ago

It does make a difference.

-5

u/Ok_Satisfaction3460 11h ago

Not in my lifetime it hasn't. It's just been a downward spiral. Best you get with them is the spiral might slow.

3

u/HazelEBaumgartner 10h ago

Slowing the spiral is objectively a good outcome. If you know your car is about to crash and there's no way to stop it, you still pump the brakes because a collision at 50 mph is a better outcome than a collision at 80 mph.

0

u/Ok_Satisfaction3460 5h ago

I didn't say it wasn't. My entire point is stop expecting sweeping improvements from them. It won't happen.

3

u/AlbatrossRich8724 11h ago

They are not actively making things worse

-4

u/Ok_Satisfaction3460 11h ago

Didn't say they would.

10

u/AlbatrossRich8724 11h ago

So in your opinion, it’s better to support nobody than it is to vote against the group that is certainly making things worse.

“Boy, this leopard is eating my face, should I let it continue or should I do the bare minimum to stop it?”

-2

u/Ok_Satisfaction3460 11h ago

Again I didn't say that. People need to stop believing the Dems with actually make things better though because they won't. Even on the off chance they actually try it'll be a token effort. One that they'll either fail to push through or be undone when they lose power again.

8

u/AlbatrossRich8724 11h ago

It is what you said. You suggested that Dems were not making it worse.

If that is true, and you are also recognizing that republicans are making it worse, why are you not voting for Dems? You have two options you may not like, but one is clearly far and away worse. Why not vote against the worse option?

-2

u/Ok_Satisfaction3460 10h ago

My point was stop expecting them to actually fix anything because they won't. I didn't say not to try, even hope. People need to manage their expectations though.

2

u/AnewTest 5h ago

They physically can't fix anything if they're not given such a majority in congress that Republicans can't still fuck with things.

Give Democrats so much of a majority that even votes that require a 2/3 majority to pass can easily sail through, and then see what happens.

What you people don't seem to get is that giving them a razor thin majority gives them nothing to work with. It's like handcuffing them, then being mad when they can't do anything.

-24

u/nobodyspecial712 12h ago

They will make things 10000x worse.

Doesn't matter tho, republicans are just as guilty as democrats when it comes to fucking American citizens, extorting us, and wasting tax dollars leading to government created inflation that could have been avoided.

Neither party wants to make the dollar more valuable to solve anything. They just want to spend more so you have to work more so you can pay them more to fuck you more.

16

u/MetaCardboard 12h ago

Well that was a ridiculous thing to say.

-14

u/nobodyspecial712 12h ago

The fight isn't left vs right.

It's government vs freedom.

We are mostly financial slaves unless you're in the upper class because the government can't stop spending tax dollars or actually solve anything.

Both sides make it worse in different ways so that they can keep us divided while they take turns screwing us from different directions while we argue about which direction hurts less.

Free people don't need government permission.

11

u/MetaCardboard 12h ago

The government isn't the real enemy. They're simply the proxy. If we ever want power back over our government we have to get rid of the current fascist admin. We do that by bringing normal politicians back into office. Ideally bringing in more progressive Democrats, but vote blue no matter who this time around. Primaries are over so you're stuck with your options right now. If you want to change that then make sure you vote in the primaries moving forward.

-2

u/nobodyspecial712 11h ago

You're still trying to argue left v right.

The right is fascist and the left is authoritarian which in the grand scheme of things is exactly the same.

The government altered the constitution to allow them to legally extort us. It was supposed to be temporary. It was not.

The left and right are both wings of the same government bird that wants to control every aspect of our lives.

It uses tactics to divide us so we fight over left vs right, while our freedoms are continuously eroded from all sides.

The corrupt government is the entire problem, and one side isn't any better than the other.

3

u/MetaCardboard 11h ago

I'm not arguing left vs right. I'm arguing that getting rid of this fascist admin is the top priority for everyone's best interests, and Republicans have shown they will only help his fascist takeover of our country. We need to put Democrats in power so they have the power to be able to do something.

You're arguing in favor of fascists because you're denying the reality of this current admin.

0

u/nobodyspecial712 11h ago

I'm not arguing left vs right.

I'm arguing that getting rid of this fascist admin is the top priority for everyone's best interests, and Republicans have shown they will only help his fascist takeover of our country.

= RIGHT

We need to put Democrats in power so they have the power to be able to do something.

= LEFT

Which is left vs right.

-1

u/bigboulderpunch999 10h ago

Democrats have proven that when they get into power they’re more than willing to authorise authoritarian measures to make people comply with what they believe is the correct behaviour.

8

u/LilWompNugget 12h ago

I get the sentiment, but what’s the plan of action then? Why this timing, to start speaking on this right before the election? Undermining voter motivation when people are being murdered for trying to help a woman up of the ground isn’t gonna make this problem any better. Change is slow, especially in governance. For now, I’d rather be ripped off than ripped off and in fear for the life of me and my loved ones. This is why people should be motivated to vote and vote blue. And there are up and coming candidates/figures in the Democratic Party (Talarico, El-Sayeed) that see the problem you’re speaking on and are willing to take action about it, but first and foremost, the runaway train of senseless bigoted violence has to stop.

-2

u/nobodyspecial712 11h ago

Blue is just as bad as red if not worse.

Which side wastes tax dollars? Both albeit on different things.

Which side has made the dollar more valuable? - Neither.

The violence will never stop as long as the media propaganda machine is rolling at full speed with state backing. Obama legalized state propaganda in 2013 when he signed the National Defense Authorization Act of which the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act stripped the restriction of state sponsored propaganda from the books.

Also, violence is a revenue generator for the corrupt government, which is why they keep letting criminals out of jail to re-offend instead of solving the issues once and for all.

I believe in a point system. Every crime is assigned a point value. When y ou hit certain levels, you can't go back, and your points stick with your for life. When you hit X, you go to jail for the rest of your life. No more chances. If you commit a heinous crime such as murder or rape, -> mandatory death penalty.

I understand there may be some false positives, but as long as women are allowed to murder their babies for convenience and not be held accountable, then I'm fine with an innocent person receiving the death penalty due to a mistake once in a while. Millions of babies should receive more protection, especially since we allegedly have a right to life. My opinion on things such as this will change if we start holding people accountable for murder for elective abortions.

Criminals need to either learn from their mistakes, or be removed from participating in society by force.

Most/all victimless laws should also be removed from the books as well as nearly 100% of civil law which is nothing more than an unconstitutional infringement on your alleged inalienable right to liberty.

Do we need some? Sure, but surely there shouldn't be a law dictating my vehicle to be electric, or that the tint on my window can't be above a certain percentage that blocks what they consider too much light.

We should definitely not be funding surveillance on ourselves.

7

u/LilWompNugget 11h ago

There are no solutions for any of your complaints in this whole spiel. And agree to disagree, but what a woman does with her own womb isn’t anyone else’s business. You can’t force your ideology on someone else and cry about freedom. A pro-choice stance doesn’t FORCE anyone to go get an abortion, and people are allowed to have different ideologies and still coexist. Again my biggest gripe here is your total lack of solutions for any of this complaining, however well informed it may be. And the timing and tone is to specifically turn people away from voting, when you offer no path to progress. It’s well written, but very disingenuous.

1

u/nobodyspecial712 10h ago

The solution is to reform and limit the government. Eliminate the criminal enterprise Congress has become.

It's not her body I'm concerned about. You're right she can do whatever she wants with her body. It's her babies body she can't choose to do anything with.

The government forces it's ideology on us, and extorts us to pay for their protection. We're supposed to have inalienable rights. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The government is supposed to step in when my actions infringe upon someone else's rights, so I can't just go around killing people and claiming it's my right to happiness!

The government has failed to protect our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Free people don't need government permission. You shouldn't need a business license to start a business. If you do bad things, you get shut down and held accountable with or without a license. It's just a revenue scheme along with most civil law, and all victimless crimes.

The solution is to take control and power away from the government and hold our elected officials accountable, specifically those in Congress that are not actually representing our interests.

They have failed in their major job duty of protecting the purse and keeping our money valuable. They have caused inflation to the point where it is no longer sustainable and the entire system is collapsing under it's own weight.

It starts with the government paying us back the 40 trillion it borrowed from us to get to this point. Then ending entitlement programs because our money is more valuable, and they can tax us less because we need less help. Instead, they create inflation, steal more money to pay for it, and then the cycle repeats. They are running out of other people's money, and prices (and wages) are ridiculous.

Nobody needs to be earning $100k a year while minimum wage is $7.25.

We can change patent law, and allow or even encourage drugs to be cheaper by allowing more competition in their creation.

We could cap the price of medical services so they don't charge $100 for a $0.05 plastic tube.

We could attack price gouging companies and restrict them from doing business.

We could restrict corporations and increase their tax burden significantly, while eliminating property tax and income tax.

We could force the government to live within its means, and indeed carry a surplus.

We could make the economy work for the people instead of the billionaires.

We could have free food, and free electricity for all citizens if we really wanted to. Just make the billion dollar corporations pay. That would be bad for the economy though. OH NO! Not that! Anything but that!

2

u/LilWompNugget 10h ago

Other than the abortion issue, I completely agree with you. And what I’m trying to have you see is that the new wave of democratic socialist are striving for the same thing you are. But you gotta start somewhere, and for me, it’s the party where i actually have allies, even if it’s not the leading face of the party, yet. But it will be, because people truly are fed up with the status quo in the Democratic Party, and internal reform is coming.

1

u/AnewTest 5h ago

Dems are just as bad as Nazis, if not worse??

WTF are you talking about?

1

u/nobodyspecial712 5h ago

Which part didn't you understand?

I can try to rephrase with smaller words maybe.

1

u/AnewTest 4h ago

I'd have to ingest a fistful of LSD tabs to even come close to understanding your mental state.

6

u/LIMrXIL 11h ago

Buddy, as long as there is a secret police force abducting people off American streets and disappearing them into detention camps nobody gives a damn about your “both sides are bad” nonsense.

1

u/nobodyspecial712 10h ago

Not happening. Propaganda.

5

u/LIMrXIL 10h ago

Buddy, as long as you remain willfully ignorant of the atrocities happening around you no one gives a damn about your “both sides are bad” nonsense.

1

u/nobodyspecial712 10h ago

The same can be said about the other side, but you're too busy pointing fingers to look deeper.

1

u/AnewTest 5h ago

No, the same can't be said about the other side. Unless, of course, you're a liar.

2

u/security-device 5h ago

Bullshit. You're the propagandist trying to chill voter turnout. I see right through you.

1

u/nobodyspecial712 5h ago

Yeah, arguing with somebody on reddit is going to chill voter turnout.

You must have ridden the shortest bus.

1

u/security-device 5h ago

Yes, that's exactly what you're attempting. Badly. Once again, you're transparent.

u/beerandglitter 10h ago

It’s not government vs freedom, it’s rich vs the rest of us. Once people realize that we need to overthrow the oligarchs, it’s over for them.

1

u/nobodyspecial712 9h ago

The oligarchs own the government which makes the laws we then pay to enforce.

We're extorted and paying for the priveledge of be controlled, and the majority still thinks we're free.

The government could put an end to it, but they won't, because they don't represent us.

They represent themselves and the paper and ink they've convinced us we need for a society, that those very same oligarchs use against us to buy the people supposedly protecting our freedoms.

10

u/NAU80 11h ago

You do know that the Democrats ran the Congress from the 1930 till the 1980’s. During that time they gave such things as:

19th Amendment Women's right to vote

Apollo 11 -First manned moon mission

Social SecuritySocial insurance program

MedicareHealth insurance for seniors

NATO North Atlantic Treaty Organization – the political and military alliance between the US, Canada and Europe

Medicaid- Health care program for low income people

Securities and Exchange Act Law-Oversee the trading of securities and protect investors

Rural Electrification Act- Federal loans for the installation of electricity to serve rural areas

Unemployment Benefits- Temporary payments to the unemployed

Fair Labor Standards Act- Ending the cruel practice of child labor

Servicemen's Readjustment Act- The GI Bill, which has benefited millions of returning soldiers

Federal Home Loan Program- Guaranteed loans that allowed millions of Americans to become homeowners

National Industrial Recovery Act- 8 hour workday, minimum wage, paid overtime, and the right to collective bargaining

Voting Rights Act- Prohibits discrimination in voting

Head Start Program- Comprehensive services for low income families

Civil Rights Act- Prohibits discrimination and protects civil rights

Marshall Plan European Recovery Act- Rebuilt a secure and peaceful Europe after World War II

Financial Aid for Higher Education Loans-
Guaranteed student loans that enabled over 50 million Americans to receive a college education

There is a lot more. The Republicans have given massive tax cuts by borrowing money and running up the national debt.

-3

u/nobodyspecial712 11h ago

I'm seriously reconsidering that women being allowed to vote is a good thing. Especially with all the Lindsay Clancy supporters, and lack of accountability.

We can't even solve problems on Earth, why are we wasting billions/trillions of dollars trying to go to the moon?

Social security is a scam in the way it's set up.

Medicare isn't much better. It doesn't favor the patients, it favors the corporations as usual for government.

Screw NATO. They can pay us if they want our protection. Inflated rates if they have tariffs on our goods entering their markets.

Medicaid is as bad as medicare.

SEC, and 100% of wall street should be banned permanently.

I do agree that rural areas having electricity is useful, but they did that just so they could raise more revenue - not to actually benefit the rural consumers.

Unemployment is rife with fraud.

fair labor standards act doesn't go far enough.

Minimum wage should be changed to living wage, and corporations should either be forced to split their profits with employees in addition to their wages or banned from doing business on American soil.

I'm going to stop here, but I feel roughly the same about the rest of the points you brought up also.

The Republicans have given massive tax cuts by borrowing money and running up the national debt.

So have the democrats with entitlement programs such as medicare and medicaid.

The left typically has waste fraud and abuse in their entitlement programs, and the right has waste fraud and abuse through military industrial complex spending.

The government owes us 40 trillion dollars. Imagine what we could do if they actually paid us back?

2

u/security-device 5h ago

"I'm seriously reconsidering that women being allowed to vote is a good thing" outed yourself as a fascist in the first sentence. No one buys your bullshit.

1

u/nobodyspecial712 5h ago

Yes, expressing an opinion makes me a fascist. You got it ;)

1

u/security-device 5h ago

Yeah, when it's a Fascist stance. You slow?

0

u/nobodyspecial712 5h ago

Kinda like the vaccine mandates? Pot. Kettle.

2

u/Trappedunderrice 10h ago

Thank you for typing this all out so I didn’t have to, almost every example they gave was a mark against their argument and shit policy that fucked over the American people.

1

u/AnewTest 5h ago

You're reconsidering allowing me to vote.

Which proves that your "both sides are bad" nonsense is just the real propaganda, because you are all for the right wing fascist bullshit. You love it. You just want to pretend to be an "enlightened centrist" to spread lies to discourage Democrats from voting.

Piss off.

1

u/nobodyspecial712 5h ago

You put words in my mouth and then get mad like I said them?

I said: "I'm seriously reconsidering that women being allowed to vote is a good thing."

Has nothing to do with allowing you to do anything or not. I'd love if democrats voted less, specifically the illegal aliens.

1

u/AnewTest 4h ago

1) The illegal aliens aren't voting.

2) You just admitted you spoke of allowing women to vote. You intimated that it wasn't a good thing that we're allowed to vote. It's right there in your reply. Don't lie to me.

1

u/nobodyspecial712 4h ago

If it wasn't a good thing, it was a bad thing, which is what i said.

That doesn't mean I support taking it away from you.

Stop being imbecilic.

1

u/NAU80 4h ago

Republicans never have any waste, fraud, and abuse! /s

The government doesn’t owe us 40 Trillion. They borrow that money on our behalf. Entitlement programs help the average citizen, when borrowing money to give billionaires tax cuts only helps a few.

As for most of your points, your assumptions are just wrong. There is a small % of fraud in most programs. There is large fraud, but the people get away with it because they are Republican donors. (Ask Rick Scott)

0

u/nobodyspecial712 2h ago

Republicans never have any waste, fraud, and abuse! /s

The left typically has waste fraud and abuse in their entitlement programs, and the right has waste fraud and abuse through military industrial complex spending.

So, you didn't even read what I wrote?

The government doesn’t owe us 40 Trillion. They borrow that money on our behalf.

They borrow it based off our future labor and hand us IOUs in the form of dollars that they authorized the printing of causing inflation every single time they do.

Entitlement programs create waste fraud and abuse as well as administrative overhead and more unnecessary government spending. Just keep our money valuable by not over-printing it. No entitlement programs needed when everything is affordable.

There is major fraud in every single government agency and/or program because our tax dollars are extorted from us to fund the very people that infringe upon our rights when we do things they dislike.

3

u/el_grort 10h ago

It would castrate him domestically but that might mean he causes more international damage, which is scary as someone outside the US.

0

u/Glyth63825 10h ago

So... just vote red to let them do whatever they want? And continually do so instead of trying to fix the problem at all?

2

u/WideResolution9551 9h ago

lol just to be clear, I still think we should vote blue. That is critical. I just worry about what trump’s response will be to losing.
