News Boosted Media’s Simgrade VX-PRO review is out
Full disclosure first: I run Simpatico Sim Shop, a sim racing reseller in Florida, and we just became the US distributor for Simgrade. Weigh what follows with that in mind.
Boosted Media finally published their VX-PRO review this week after running the pedals on their rigs for about 18 months: Boosted Review
Uniquely, all three pedals use load cells, and the brake gets its stiffness range from springs on adjustable rails, with no elastomers involved. Tom and Will liked how consistent the threshold point on the two-stage brake is. They grouped it in the same class as the Heusinkveld Sprints, VNM, and VRS products, but rated it the best value. They were upfront about the downsides too, like how the tool-less retainers worked loose a couple of times during testing, the software is pretty basic, and the brake is rated to 90kg at the pedal face, so it may not be suited for the heaviest of brakers. They also weren't fans of the tilting heel rest or the side support..but I personally like the heel rests.
Until recently, the US market could only order direct from Finland with international shipping and import fees tacked on. Now that they have distribution stateside, there's free shipping and no tariffs, and warranty support from Simpatico.
If anyone has been running a set for a while, I'd like to hear how they've held up and what you think of them.
