And that's when you say: "I've had a great time!" and you eat a bullet.
I don't understand why people "sacrifice" during their years of health and youth so they can have more time in their years of geriatric decline.
Life is better when you are young, healthy, strong. That's the time to be free, to have great sex, to eat good food, to learn, to build.
People would be so much more happy if they accepted that 60 years of balance between work and pleasure is soooo much more valuable than 60 years of work and sacrifice followed by 20 years of doctor visits and failing bodily functions. And that it really doesn't matter if you die 5 years later if you were miserable the 50 years prior.
We all need to understand this: Everyone is going to die. No one "wins". We all lose. So, quit trying to avoid death simply for the sake of "one more day". It quality that matters, not quantity.
You don’t have to wait until you’re 65 to start enjoying life. Most people start ramping down their careers in their 40s to focus more on work-life balance. And that’s still pretty young if you take care of yourself. Even 65 isn’t too old to enjoy life. My parents are rapidly approaching that age and they have way more fun than me. People act like life is over after your 20s. In reality, we spend maybe 20 years working our asses off and then slowly start to wind down around middle age. Why sacrifice everything that comes later just to have some extra fun in your 20s and 30s when you can barely afford it anyways?
Well, I mean, I would rather do the Nitrogen Nap. I was using "eating a bullet" as a euphemism more than a direct method of dying. The problem with using a firearm is you make a huge mess for someone else to clean up. It's a bit rude, but unfortunately that's all some people have access to.

I mean, okay, but things happen in old age that you can't foresee or control. You literally may not be able to work if something like that happens.
