What a time to be alive man. Just the other day we found out AI has learned how to recompile pretty much any video game, mash them together or fully emulate them
Today we have the closest thing to an actual flying car that we've seen in years
And through all of that there's still always someone bitching and moaning lol
It's fucking awesome. But unfortunately it's 1; a Telsa, so it automatically lines the pockets of Elon Husk, and 2; they could be putting that R&D into something like solar panels or house battery systems
It lines Elon’s pockets the same way my 31 Honda stocks line my pockets. It’s negligible compared to his total wealth. He could stop making money for the rest of his life and still die the richest person in the world. Real dedicated and passionate engineers design and create these vehicles. Elon did not create these.
Engineering feats always start as concepts. Whether or not you will ever drive a flying car does not mean this wasn’t a significant feat that could result in tremendous alternative applications.
Why would it cause a lot of deaths? It's never going to be used on the road, hell, it's probably never going to be used with a human passenger inside period. Tesla didn't even put their own people in it for the controlled demo they created and I'm sure put a ton of time and attempts into making sure it would work. I feel pretty confident saying there won't ever be a human passenger that goes for a kick flip in a roadster.
You just said, the engineering feat. It's not cool because it's practical, or even a real product. It's cool because it's a car that drove up a wall, went upside down, and then flipped mid air to land on its wheels. It's cool cuz it did a barrel roll over a semi. The fact that those things happened at all no matter the circumstances or caveats is insane.
