Alright, I’ve read everything I can. Always been a dog person. Currently have a sweet, relaxed 70lb dog at home. Spouse wants a sphynx. They had dogs and cats growing up. I know what it takes to take care of a puppy/dog. Sphynx easier? Harder? Is the maintenance that bad? I’m worried I’ll have a greasy high maintenance cat that I can’t keep clean and won’t let me sleep. lol.

Just for some background, I love sphynx cats, I love cats in general but sphynx cats are my absolute favourite. I’ve faced a lot of confused looks from people when I say this, but I just think they are cuter than furred cats.

I don’t own a cat myself let alone a sphynx, but something I keep seeing within communities of posts where I browse to watch videos, or read posts like here, is people being strongly against breeders.

Im not defending them or saying they’re innocent, im just genuinely wondering why they are bad? Specifically for sphynx cats?

Dirt Dobber has developed a couple of red spots on his ears and we aren’t sure of the cause. Any ideas? My initial thought was rough play with our other cats but leaning less that way now since it is on both ears. He is on meds for FIP so maybe it is a side effect from that?

Apparently, hiding in a bag counts as asking for a surprise attack. 😂
Anyone else have a tiny naked warrior at home?

hi guys! getting our first girl in about a month, breeder contract states to have kitten checked within 1 week of adoption by our vet of choice. any recommendations on sphynx vets in Pittsburgh area? also recommendations on pet insurance? Anything else you think we may need to know about Sphynx will be helpful too! We have done lots of research but are still first timers

Gina gave birth to 4 babi and Brooklyn had 5. Wonder what colors the kittens will become in a few weeks. They all are born pinkish but within 4 weeks their skin color changes. Definitely a couple pinks and blues and probably chocolate will emerge 😻

Hiya - currently at the vet with Beelzebub after requesting an EKG appointment specifically. The vet is starting with NT-proBN blood test and will only do EKG if results are skewed.. How hard should I be pushing for the EKG? Is this blood test a reliable indicator for HCM? If you have any experience or opinions on this I’d love to hear, Ty! (Cat tax incl.)

The first two sets of pictures with my husband and I in them are one of our little girls Merida. She falls asleep so deeply that she if she is sleeping on us or on something that has an angle to it she will slide down it and then kind of collapse into a position that is just the funniest weirdest thing you’ve ever seen. The one under the blankets is her sister Ariel, who was annoyed that I disturbed her sleep to take a picture.

Both my babies decided to come and hang out with (on) me... Love them to bits ❤️‍🔥

Hello!! My love of my life, Odio and his orange brother, Kronk, have recently gotten a new dog sibling. So far things have been good. I’m just looking for others experiences with dogs/cat households, especially if you had the cats first!

We have been keeping the cats in our bedroom while we sleep or are out of the house, I’m worried that the confinement is going to negatively affect him. The goal is for everyone to live peacefully and be able to be in the same spaces while unattended. Even though the dog hasn’t shown any outward aggression to the cats, i just can’t help but think of worst case scenarios and it’s hard for me to ever imagine feeling comfortable with them all together alone. If you have experience with this please send your perspective!!

Odio was a single cat and adjusted really well to my boyfriend’s cat kronk joining the family. They were friends from the second they met. So this isn’t their first time adjusting to a new sibling, just different.
