You're correct. His final words were "“Counting or not counting gang violence?" in response to "Do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last 10 years?"
u/GhoullDen is guessing that Kirk was about to make a racist point. He is likely right, but we'll never know for sure because Kirk didn't get the chance to do so before being shot.
These people are only outing themselves by hearing gang violence and translating it to “non whites kill each other like savages”. The point was that criminal gangs attacking other criminal gangs inflates shooting percentages, trivializing cases where innocent people were a target and not two scum bags killing each other. Only racists think about race all the time.
The Right tried to turn him into a martyr, which kinda died dead in its tracks after the ai song, "we are charlie kirk", as well as the festive memorial service that had his Mrs. walk out on stage alongside pyrotechnics.
Dude was a known asshole in life, known for several crude racist and sexist remarks, and the circumstances of his killing being ironic doesn't garner sympathy after.
I wouldn't go that far. He was an influencer podcaster paid to tell horrible people what they wanted to hear. Any moron can, and has, taken his spot. Its like the difference between infamous and famous.
I’m not saying he was any good at it, but he was popular. His influence has certainly been overblown after his death as other conservatives attempt to make him into a martyr
