"Base Luffy dodged a laser post-timeskip, he's ftl. Even with gear 2 Luffy couldn't hit Katakuri. With future sight and snake-man Luffy is faster then Katakuri making him multiple times faster then light!"

The not so humble Gazelle man out running Luffy at a mere 200 km/h (20% of Mach 1)

That's because the base idea that dodging a laser makes you faster than light is bullshit, especially with haki that lets you dodge before it is even shot.

Also zoro would be even fast since he dodged one pretime skip

To be fair, observation Haki actually gives a good explanation for this. Characters in One Piece have reaction speed that far superasses their regular speed since they can react to attacks before the attack even happens. Like just look at how Enel and his priests could dodge attacks that would otherwise be too fast for them.

Guns are also pretty widely used, even by characters that should be among the strongest. Like Benn Beckman who is the first mate of the red hair pirates. He's Shanks' Zoro/Rayleigh/King/Katakuri/etc, and he unironically pointed a his gun at Kizaru, the guy with the devil fruit that makes him light speed, implying there is at least a non-zero chance of actually hitting lol.

Speed in One Piece is just hella inconsistent.

To be fair, I remember reading that bullets can be coated in Haki, and who knows how that'd affect the firing speed.

Where is that stated? I also don't really see why that would affect the speed of the bullet since it's based on the power of the gun (although I can see the bullet having more piercing power or whatever if it has haki)

I don't think dodging lasers makes you faster than light, rather it gives you a reaction time just as fast as light, in my opinion.

Not even that. Even the most basic Observation Haki allows you to predict things before they happen by sensing someone's "intent".

So Luffy dodging lasers doesn't mean he or his reaction time is lightspeed, it means he can react before the laser even fires because he receives the information about the attack before it ever happens
