Powers (Hilarious Trope) That's not how this gun works!

EDIT: Just so you know, I might have been wrong about the 3rd example!

  1. The Simpsons (Season 30, Episode 9) - The character is holding a revolver (which is normally charged by putting the bullets inside the cylinder) and charging it by putting a magazine in the grip like a Glock. Please note that this was done intentionally to make fun of how guns are portrayed unrealistically in movies;
  2. Shadow the Hedgehog video game - In one of the trailers, Shadow is holding what I think was an M4A1 and, in this shot, he is arming it by pulling the handguard like a shotgun. The handguard is only for protecting the shooter from the heat generated by the barrel.
  3. Stranger Things (Season 5, Episode 8) - During the fight with the Mindflayer, Nancy is loading an M4A1-5, and, after she inserts a magazine, she is pushing the carrying handle to arm it like a shotgun. That's not what a carrying handle is for, obviously.

I want to mention that I know there's another popular example with a silencer for a shotgun or something, but I am not familiar with it. Also, I tried my best to identify each gun, so please correct me if I was wrong about any of them.

Harley Quinn's revolver ejects shells when fired. (SSKtJL)

There was an auto-ejector revolver prototyped by Colt that did this. How good it was is questionable though.

Forgotten Weapons did a good review of it on Youtube

Yeah in a world with super heroes this could be feasible.

Well, in a short he had about it yesterday he said the one he had was non functional because it "exploded" during testing.

There's a few, there was a Swiss one as well iirc. Also on Forgotten Weapons.

Largely to speed reloading but as technology got better just use a fucking over-under or a swing out.

Surprisingly, that was the least bad part of that entire game

Sad but true. That whole game was a fever dream we all want to forget.

What? The character writing of the suicide squad was top notch. Overall writing, gameplay, monetization and the rest was bad, but the characters (Shark, Deadshot, boomerang, harlequin) were very well written.

And it's somehow able to penetrate Batman's bulletproof cowl

(God, I hate this game)

Cutscene Pistols are always loaded with Plot-Piercing Bullets didn’t you know? (Lmao)

The cowl isn't bulletproof, there's no such thing as bulletproof armour, just bullet resistant.

Considering this is the same Batman as the Arkham games, and Batman in the Arkham games absolutely dies quickly to guns, only able to take a couple of bursts even with max bullet resistance upgrades, I can reasonably believe a point blank shot from a high Caliber revolver can pierce the cowl.

If it was truly bulletproof, then leaving an open mouth section instead of a full helmet makes Batman look very stupid, and Harley could've killed him the exact same way with a shot up through his chin.

There is ALOT wrong with Kill the Justice League but Batman not surviving point blank headshots from a revolver isn't one of them, he's not Superman.

Okay, I'll give you that. But they still could have done it in a much less insulting way. Esspecially for Arkham Batman.

I agree wholeheartedly. There was many better ways to do it.

As an aside though, it's not the confirmed death of Arkham Batman. In the last update they made a simultaneous good and bad decision to say all the Justice League members killed in the game were clones Brainiac made, instead of the original members being brainwashed.

Good, because it means Arkham Batman didn't die in a shitty live service game and is still canonically alive.

Bad, because it's clearly a cop out and means Wonder Woman, the only good one, was the only member of the league who actually died in the game. Also the ambiguous fate of Arkham Robin wasn't cleared up and still heavily implies he's dead.

Dorks downvoting you cause the batman we played for 10 years got done like that

1

u/GachaHell Jul 08 '26

Good news! They retconned it to not being Arkham Batman. Just a slightly different universe Batman.

The final season revealed the Justice League is alive and well.

Except Wonder Woman. She's very dead.

The one they propped us as "the best of us all" just to say no lol shes dead

Alot instead of a lot is very common where I live

u/legit-posts_1 Jul 08 '26

Alright but have you considered that ejecting shells look dope as fuck?

1

u/Virghia Jul 08 '26

Is this a fangame? Arkhamverse ended at Knight AFAIK

2

u/InventorOfCorn Jul 08 '26

it's made by the same studio as the arkham games

2

u/GachaHell Jul 08 '26

It's also canonically a sequel to Knight. Batman being Bruce Wayne is just public knowledge at that point. He just introduces himself as Bruce Wayne in one of the exhibits because everybody knows due to Knight.

u/Zollias Jul 08 '26

A shame it was a shit game, this is actually my favorite design for Harley Quinn

1

u/Cultural_Hippo Jul 08 '26

Am I the only one that noticed that the barrel of the gun is not placed correctly on that 3d model? Shouldn't it be in line with the hammer?

1

u/copenhagen_bram Jul 08 '26

Behold, a revolver that's mag loaded and ejects the shell

1

u/Phenomenomix Jul 08 '26

Does it also fire from the lowest most chamber of the revolving bit?

1

u/JaneRetro Jul 09 '26

Is that gun an homage to Vash the Stampede's revolver from Trigun? It even fires from the bottom chamber.

1

u/BTechUnited Jul 09 '26

Probably more inspired by Emilio Ghisoni's designs, such as the Mateba 2006M, Unica, or Chiappa Rhino.

Maybe it shoots shells of some kind?
