Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) TV endings so awful it completely ruins rewatchability of the entire show.

Game of Thrones - Entire season 8 and finale completely ruins the entire narrative and show ends in the worst way possible. It kills desire to rewatch the show.

How I Met Your Mother - Show ends such awful they kill the... the mother. After spending years growing into a loyal partner and father, he instantly reverted to his old womanizing behavior after his divorce. Also he ends up with robin randomly.

The Boys - While not as bad as GOT but the worst aspect is the cheap Vought Rising spin-off tease, pointless storylines and rushed ending which leaves a sour taste. Despite hitting the right points... it feels cheap and not satisfying.

Oh it’s worst than that.

The ending basically says “If you had a bad childhood, don’t try to get a better life, you’ll just make things worst. You shouldn’t have been born, so the best thing you can do is kill yourself”.

"The world is literally a better place without you existing in it"

Thank you show, really needed to hear that

My own mind says that enough, don’t need some Netflix show reinforcing it.

And even worse, is that the season began witb an entire arc where all the characters try to lead a normal life, and every character finds it comically unfulfilling. Meaning the entire season drills in the "you shouldn't have been born message".

You could say that the rewritten universe changed the message drastically since it changed the trajectory of the message.

Am I misremembering? Some had issues sure, but I thought Diego was somewhat happy with his family, Allison with her husband as a activist, Klaus went through Nam which I guess in and of itself is hell, but found love until the guy died.

Was that the second to last season then?

I too was dissatisfied with the ending, but I didn't walk away with that message you and others are sharing. Just moreso that they sacrificed themselves for a world that could care less about them, but they sacrificed anyways. Unless that's true to the source material, wouldve much preferred a happier ending, even if it meant one or two of them sacrificed (like Five)

It seems like you're combining seasons. Allison was reunited with her daughter and the new universe made her season two partner her husband at the end of season 3, but he left them and didn't show up in season 4 at all. Diego did have his family with Lila in season 4, but then issues arose from that. Klaus went to Vietnam and fell in love with a soldier in season 1, went to meet him before he went to war in season 2, and the guy denied being gay from what I remember.

This feels like the showrunners were trying to make a point to somebody in their life lol. Like the Transformers movie that has the character explain the Romeo and Juliet law.

I mean, the first 30 seconds of the entire show demonstrates they should never have been born. No pregnancies, no fathers. Just a bunch of women instantly going into labour.

Shouldn't have been born and not deserving to live are not one and the same.

Which feels SO antithetical to Gerard Way’s whole deal 😖

I could see disliking it if I was hoping for a Hollywood ending, but it's actually a very satisfying end to a tragic story and makes complete sense. They should not have existed in the first place and all timelines reflected that. Tonally consistent and consequential stoytelling.

Not every story needs a happy ending.

More like people whom have unfair advangages from birth shouldn't be allowed to exist lol.
