Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) TV endings so awful it completely ruins rewatchability of the entire show.

Game of Thrones - Entire season 8 and finale completely ruins the entire narrative and show ends in the worst way possible. It kills desire to rewatch the show.

How I Met Your Mother - Show ends such awful they kill the... the mother. After spending years growing into a loyal partner and father, he instantly reverted to his old womanizing behavior after his divorce. Also he ends up with robin randomly.

The Boys - While not as bad as GOT but the worst aspect is the cheap Vought Rising spin-off tease, pointless storylines and rushed ending which leaves a sour taste. Despite hitting the right points... it feels cheap and not satisfying.

Basically what happens is the first 80% of the story is a sweet journey of a single man adopting a young relative and learning how to be a single father. There are dramatic circumstances as to why she has nobody else to take care of her, so he steps up. Then after the story reaches a pretty satisfying spot to end - the man has met a woman his age who is very nice and it's implied they will get married, the girl is now 18 and has a potential romantic interest in her childhood friend who is a really wholesome guy, etc. - the author decides to completely flip the narrative into their own personal daddy-issues incest fetish. The girl decides she's in love with the man who raised her as a father, and then even though he doesn't actually just immediately go along with it, the author has all the other characters in the story basically shame him and convince him it's a great idea for him to accept her romantic advances. That woman he met and the girl's childhood friend both for some reason decide that they support the relationship and pressure the man into marrying her. So the story ends with them being in a relationship.

It's INSANE. The author tries to make it fine by revealing a big twist that the girl isn't actually his blood relative, but it's still a horrible ending.

And as the top comment states, the anime adaptation simply ends where the story should have ended before the sickening twist and never adapted the rest of the story because... like... good lord why would they?

On a very horrifying note, I actually know someone irl who kind of did this. Had a family friend she had known as an uncle her whole life, and it wasn't like distant uncle. He was a good 30 years older than her. He had kids her age and older.

When she was in her early-mid twenties she decided he was the one and no one could tell her differently. They got married and had a couple kids too.

I feel awful for her.

I always did too, but they've been married for like 15 years now. I guess she's happy? I don't really know.

The author herself seems to have an older guy fetish, which is why she changed the whole direction of the story to be this. Even in the first half, the mother of the girl made a comment that showed she was into the grandfather. The back part of this story is insufferable, it makes no sense why the dad guy even agrees to this. Some writers who don't have pushback from editors eventually just write about their fetishes.

Personally I'm always excited to see women succeed in male-dominated fields, so good for her.

Its 2026, women are allowed to be degenerates too. It's called progress

So like… has anyone checking the authors hard drive?

Lol, the author is the young girl in this fetish fantasy. She is into older daddy types

The panel of her seeing his back and blushing is my sleep paralysis demon 🤮

Eurgh… that’s horrible. It sounds more like some sort of horror where the girl is some changeling daemon using the man to raise her then propagate herself…

Yes and no

He does raise her and the romance doesn't happen until she's 18

I didn't even follow this series but every time I'm reminded of its existence I cross myself and say a prayer over my favorite unfinished media

The only, small saving grace is that they do not get together when she is ten. Still a horrible twist, but one that could've been way worse.

It is, but when they're older.

I'm so sorry.
