Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) TV endings so awful it completely ruins rewatchability of the entire show.

Game of Thrones - Entire season 8 and finale completely ruins the entire narrative and show ends in the worst way possible. It kills desire to rewatch the show.

How I Met Your Mother - Show ends such awful they kill the... the mother. After spending years growing into a loyal partner and father, he instantly reverted to his old womanizing behavior after his divorce. Also he ends up with robin randomly.

The Boys - While not as bad as GOT but the worst aspect is the cheap Vought Rising spin-off tease, pointless storylines and rushed ending which leaves a sour taste. Despite hitting the right points... it feels cheap and not satisfying.

The book was also written by Terry Pratchett. I preferred it to the show.

Neil Gaiman is the fucking worst person to hand an adaptation to. With American Gods he tried stretching a single book into a multi season show that ended up getting cancelled cause it sucked. Good Omens season 1 was good and fairly faithful to the book, everything after that is just Tumblr fanfiction slightly polished up. Sandman wasn't bad per se, but there were a number of ret-cons thrown in where he just decided that head canons and fan theories should become canon.

Neil Gaiman is proof that, no actually authors shouldn't listen to their fans when it comes to adaptations of their works. Plus you know, being a fucking rapist.

Agree with all of that. The book itself was great. American Gods could have been a great several episodes show.

And damn was the rapist part disgusting and disappointing. Given that in many fandoms a famous person could easily find someone eager to participate in whatever kink someone has it’s crazy that none of these guys actually look for those people.

That's what's crazy to me. Like you said, he had a pretty big fandom, he could have easily found women ready and willing to participate. Instead he chose to target young vulnerable women and used his position to coerce them into sex instead.

American Gods wasn't my favorite book ever, but it was a decent story and could have made a good limited series. Adding in a bunch of extra gods to pad run time and completely changing Laura Moon and Mad Sweeney's stories was just too much. So many amazing actors in the show too just for it to circle the drain cause Gaiman couldn't stop mucking about and adding shit.

Yeah. It’s disappointing in a variety of ways.
