Hated Tropes [HATED] Adaptations done intentionally without help from the source

Halo TV show: Before the show came out, the writers were praising their decision to not look to the games for inspiration when making the show

God Of War TV show: Chris Judge, the actor of Kratos in the games from 2018-Now, spoke up about his dislike on the show not hiring anyone who worked on any of the previous games. One of the original creators of Kratos also spoke up about them not having faith in the adaptation.

Supergirl 2026 film: the director for the film not only said he decided to not read Woman Of Tomorrow, the comic the film is adapting, because he wanted to do his own thing, he also didn’t look at comic art for inspiration to design Lobo and instead used an AI image generator to design Lobo’s look for the film

And whats weird is that apparently they made season 4 closer to the lore.

Like they change the main character actor, and NOW they go for the lore.

Too little too late

I feel that Liam wasn’t bad as Geralt at all, but the show itself was very average as the writers aren’t very good.

Big problem with pretty much anything Netflix puts out

Sure, but I still don't get why they did it with the franchise that they wanted to be, and could have absolutely been their game of thrones.

It's probably a case of things blowing up, some higher up getting on their case and them having to quickly do better. Else it never makes sense that people who never publicly opposed Cavil saying they don't follow the source material deciding to follow it AFTER he leaves.

Season 4 was the best season of all. Henry Cavil didnt even read the books, his only interpretation was grunting (like game geralt) , the new actor wasnt as pretty but he was a better actor

Geralt is constantly talking in the games though, atleast in 3. He isn't as emotive in the games but isn't just grunts and fuck
