Hated Tropes [HATED] Adaptations done intentionally without help from the source

Halo TV show: Before the show came out, the writers were praising their decision to not look to the games for inspiration when making the show

God Of War TV show: Chris Judge, the actor of Kratos in the games from 2018-Now, spoke up about his dislike on the show not hiring anyone who worked on any of the previous games. One of the original creators of Kratos also spoke up about them not having faith in the adaptation.

Supergirl 2026 film: the director for the film not only said he decided to not read Woman Of Tomorrow, the comic the film is adapting, because he wanted to do his own thing, he also didn’t look at comic art for inspiration to design Lobo and instead used an AI image generator to design Lobo’s look for the film

given there's no information Demayo was fired other than one writer who was angry at him for trashing the Witcher.

So…. There is a source that he was fired… when you claimed there wasn’t?

Cavill himself said openly he found it hard to deal with the 'showrunners vision' because it did not match the lore he was passionate about, and ultimately left.

No he didn’t. He simply said they had some disagreements at times. He also said he’d never read the books until the Showrunner told him too because he was a fan of the games, and had never read the books because he didn’t even know the games were based on the books. He has never said why he left. Both sides have only said kind things about one another and that he simply chose to leave.

But you said there was no info that he was fired and I could look it up and I was spreading lies.

I looked it up. A writer still on the show said he was fired. DeMayo has never contested the claim he was fired. So, by looking it up, there is literally no evidence other than he was fired.

And no. He didn’t. He simply said

“It’s also important to know that if you realise you’re doing the wrong thing, that’s when you stop doing the wrong thing. You don’t just keep going just because, because that leads down a dark path.”

He left likely cause he just didn’t want to do it anymore. It’s also no coincidence that it was when he was going to have to film for a year straight as S4 and S5 would shoot back to back, he was also going to have to start filming Superman (since he was suppose to be coming back) and he was in talks to film and produce the Warhammer universe films and shows.
