Hated Tropes (Hated trope) Remember all these stories and characters we followed for so long? Welp now it’s all reset.

1: using another flashpoint to create the tomorrowverse (Justice League Dark: Apokolips war) after 80-90% of the cast is killed off and billions lives are fated to die Flash and Constantine hatch up a plan to kill baby Darkseid to prevent the entire story from happening which just leads to an entirely different universe being formed and even erasing some characters from existence.

2: Jim travelling to the beginning (Tales of Arcadia series) after multiple characters die including Toby Jim uses a magic gem to travel back to the very first episode but instead lets Toby find the amulet… this changes things how?

"Themes and Such" Man ending was so funny purely because every shonen fanbase was getting their lashes in after years of Chainsawman fans acting like they were reading Hamlet and were better than everyone else

Fujimoto would agree with this

"Just wait and let Fujimoto cook. Patience, he's gonna cook hard. Just wait- hold on, its over?"

I remember back in the church arc when people would point out issues in the story and just get jumped and get told pretty much exactly what you wrote, and then more issues would appear while the current ones never get fixed, which continues all the way to whatever the hell we got as an ending where instead of fixing them, they don’t exist anymore.

After reading Fire Punch (which also has a controversial and sudden ending, just one that I happen to love) I really think Fujimoto just doesn't know how to end stories well.

He has awesome paneling and his stories tend to start super strong, but he ends up escalating the conflict and existential bullshit to such an extent that no reasonably constructed ending can even close the story. So he just slaps together something ambiguous.

Considering the way manga readers act, I almost feel like Chainsaw Man's ending being as bad as it was is some form of karmic justice Not just in terms of the fans acting all superior, but just like, fuck man manga readers in general are such an insufferable community
