Hated Tropes (Hated Meta Trope) Plot Holes that are not Plot Holes. There is an explanation if you bother to watch the movie

"Plot Hole": Why didn't Thanos just make the universe bigger to end overpopulation!

Explanation: Thanos wants to kill half the population to end overpopulation right? If he created more resources, the universe would just become overpopulated all over again. He explains this in his villain monolog. There are parts of his plan that make no sense (he's called the Mad Titan for a reason), but this one is actually explained. His plan was also to punish people for their greed, and making more food would not be much of a punishment. He also has a savior complex which makes him double down on his plan to prove he's right

"Plot Hole": Why wasn't the Death Star's exhaust port fortified!

Explanation: It fucking WAS. They had laser cannons surrounding the port because the Empire knew it was a weak point. The imperial general saw the rebels and chose to do nothing about it. He says "I think you overestimate their chances". Luke needed help from Han Solo, the disembodied voice of Ben and the Force in order to get the torpedoes into that tiny hole. Han even says that the shot was "one in a million".

Since this threads comments are only focusing on the examples in the post, I'll post two from the same show, "Gravity Falls."

"Why did Mabel gave Blendin the rift who was possessed by Bill?"

Mabel didn't know Blendin was possessed by him. Literally two episodes before this one had Dipper freak out thinking Ford was possessed by Bill because the lights in the room reflected against his glasses hiding his eyes. Blendin wear goggles that covers his eyes so Mabel couldn't have known. She also didn't know how important the rift was because Ford intentionally kept her in the dark due to his own paranoia and distrust to her because Dipper was closer to him in several senses, so he only seen Dipper as an equal to know what's needed. Finally she was vulnerable with Bill manipulating her to make summer last as long as she wanted so she didn't have to say goodbye to Gravity Falls and become a teenager. Her mind never got Bill proof and she wasn't in the Mystery Shack which was the only area Bill couldn't access in Gravity Falls, so Bill had access to her mind very easily.

"Why couldn't Bill tell Stan and Ford apart? Surely he would've noticed the fingers?"

That's the point of Stan and Ford being twin brothers, it's very hard to tell them apart if they look decently the same which Stan explains and the difference between the two is an extra finger on their hand. One of the things shown throughout the show is that Bill shakes peoples hands for his deals with his fingers and hand above or on top of theirs, not the middle or bottom, so he wouldn't feel the difference either. Plus Bill lacks depth perception only having one eye and was focusing on getting the equation to break the weirdness containing bubble stopping him from leaving Gravity Falls, so rope that all in and a few very noticable details aren't noticeable in the moment. Bill didn't even recognize he was in Stand mind thinking Ford keeps it clean and organized when Bill left Stans mind this way after Dreamscapers events. His own defeat was caused by pride and self inflicted ego as a god.
