Hated Tropes ( Annoying af trope ) When the good guys possess perfect defensive position/advantages that was completely ruined by someone's sheer stupidity, pettiness, or selfishness

I understand that these scenes must happen in order for the plot to continue but they still make me angry till today whenever I think about them because of how easy it could've been avoided. I doesn't mean these scenes are necessarily bad written, just hella hard to watch.

The Jerusalem Wall / The Singing Crowd (World War Z): Israel literally anticipated the zombie apocalypse and built a flawless, massive wall that kept everyone 100% safe. It was the ultimate safe haven. But then people inside started celebrating and singing on a microphone so loudly that it triggered a zombie pyramid, they didn't even stop until the first zombies started coming through. They have less survival instinct than an amoeba.

Ephialtes (300): The Spartans had the perfect phalanx formation at the Hot Gates. They were slaughtering the Persian army with minimal casualties and could have held them off for so much longer. Then this guy gets his feelings hurt because he can't lift a shield, throws a tantrum, and tells Xerxes about the secret goat path.

Grandma Jong-gil (Train to Busan): The survivors fought through hell and literal waves of infected to secure a safe train car. Sure, the crowd inside was selfish for locking them out at first, but everyone was finally safe inside. Then this grandma, fueled by grief and spite over her sister, decides to open the door and let the infected flood the entire car, killing everyone.

Right? I enjoy the movie for what it was but that whole scene makes no sense

The music over this super massive wall is way too loud it puts the zombies in a frenzy.

But the multiple flying helicopters are completely silent lol.

I always assumed it was just because the speakers were stationary. So people coming in through the gates had plenty of defensive structures and the helicopters were mobile so they weren't drawing the zombies to one particular point. It was just a dull roar of noise until the speakers started up and focused the horde on a specific spot. But I wasn't applying too much logic to the whole thing since we had brad pitt saving the world as the tagline and virus zombies that can smell diseases somehow

Oh shit, I totally forgot about the whole “zombies can tell who’s already dying” thing.

Yea I didn't mind it at the end when it was plot relevant but earlier when there's a kid going through chemo being spared by the rampaging horde of zombies it kinda just gets ridiculous. Like up close in the lab the handful of zombies can smell him. But that swarm should have at least accidentally crushed that kid instead of going around them when it would have been impossible to smell the cancer as they run full tilt at them with hundreds of other zombies

That sounds like a perfect setup for a zombie trap. Deep hole(s) with a overpowered incinerator at the bottom, play loud sound from a speaker hanging over the hole to draw them in.

Or just have someone hanging off the edge of a cliff on a skywalk that's missing a few pieces. Let them run off somewhere you don't have to worry about fuel.

Gotta destroy the zombie bodies somehow though, otherwise you have to worry about encountering them again later!

Fair but even an industrial sized kiln isn't going to instantly vaporize the bodies. You'd have a pile up as the new ones push the old ones into the dead char. Eventually it'll just be a pile of hot ash and bones between the zeds and the killing tools while you're wasting massive amounts of fuel trying to burn bones.

Maybe just have a bunch of boxes you can isolate from the main horde outside and a steamroller that can reach every one

May I suggest an alkaline solution? Make them into zombie soup

Need a solution that doesn't take time to reduce the parts to chunky salsa. If you use a canyon you have a couple months of chucking bodies before they start cushioning the fall damage. Steamroller/bulldozer just needs fuel and something to push against. Everything else is going to remove the meat slower than the bones will pile up and eventually stop working.

Hey, fat & protein makes decent fuel once it's hot enough. The zombies will be the fuel until you run out!

And instead of a kiln, I was thinking more of a deep, deep hole furnace with forced injection of fuel+atmosphere at various levels to make sure you can keep things hot. Put speakers at the top of the hole to keep attracting new fuel/zombies until they stop showing up.

i got the impression they where being drawn because it was organic, machines weren't appealing, but hearing clearly people drove them into a frenzy

Zombies just hate it when different peoples get along and cooperate, obviously.

It makes absolute sense as (well not really half assed, since it did seem to work to surprisingly many flying under their spotting it as what it was for some reason, compared to how blatantly clumsy it is at what it is, so more like) 2/3 assed insert off plain out targeted propaganda to point small state known for funding projects and attempting to opinion influence to cover their immoral and problematic actions and especially known to actively portray them as active victims to justify doing out of line things as somehow heroic do goodies that become victims of *lets check* peaceful friendly larger group of Arabic people, who were singing at fraction of volume compared to machine and broadcast noise that other group was doing, while also being behind wall that would very much deflect sound from them back and up, compared to spreading to surrounding like those other sounds that were done over wall and aimed to be audible beyond wall.

So yeah it made sense as quick propaganda insert. Other than that it does not make sense.
