Hated Tropes ( Annoying af trope ) When the good guys possess perfect defensive position/advantages that was completely ruined by someone's sheer stupidity, pettiness, or selfishness

I understand that these scenes must happen in order for the plot to continue but they still make me angry till today whenever I think about them because of how easy it could've been avoided. I doesn't mean these scenes are necessarily bad written, just hella hard to watch.

The Jerusalem Wall / The Singing Crowd (World War Z): Israel literally anticipated the zombie apocalypse and built a flawless, massive wall that kept everyone 100% safe. It was the ultimate safe haven. But then people inside started celebrating and singing on a microphone so loudly that it triggered a zombie pyramid, they didn't even stop until the first zombies started coming through. They have less survival instinct than an amoeba.

Ephialtes (300): The Spartans had the perfect phalanx formation at the Hot Gates. They were slaughtering the Persian army with minimal casualties and could have held them off for so much longer. Then this guy gets his feelings hurt because he can't lift a shield, throws a tantrum, and tells Xerxes about the secret goat path.

Grandma Jong-gil (Train to Busan): The survivors fought through hell and literal waves of infected to secure a safe train car. Sure, the crowd inside was selfish for locking them out at first, but everyone was finally safe inside. Then this grandma, fueled by grief and spite over her sister, decides to open the door and let the infected flood the entire car, killing everyone.

Mannfred Von Karstein, aka “Manlet Von Cumstain” or “That little shitweasel” from Warhammer fantasy.

Kickstarted the apocalypse by kidnapping and sacrificing the princess of the high elves who everyone loved. Later on, Chaos is threatening to unmake the whole world but the good guys are doing a big magic ritual to stop it, and he’s involved thanks to his necromantic power.

Gets pissy over realizing that he won’t be the one ruling the world after the ritual is done and stabs the guy next to him, causing the ritual to backlash and kill off most of the most powerful good guy wizards left in the setting.

Chaos destroys the world, and the Warhammer Fantasy setting as a whole is retired in favor of Age of Sigmar. They brought it back later after TWW3 brought back interest, but dude literally ended his entire game line during a tantrum.

The End Times is so fucking stupid, man. Just, idiot balls, a sea of idiot balls everywhere, everyone gets three.

Except Archaon, he has the gods-granted power of not picking up an idiot ball on-sight, so he gets to effortlessly win, because that's what grimderp means apparently.

I'm not bitter because Grimgor went out like a bitch, why would I be bitter about that?

I will say, the skaven blowing up the moon and being so scared of the Great Horned Rat, that they actually work together and just SWARM over everything was pretty awesome

The End Times might be stupid, but it at least gave us a couple of really fun rat killin games

Is that what set up Vermintide? I figured it was just a normal tuesday in Reikland or something.

Okay, then, guess I can't hate it too much.

Yeah the only reason the skaven aren't constantly failing through backstabbing and cowardice in those games is because they are absolutely terrified of the Great Horned Rat eating them

So he is the Erebus of Fantasy then basically?

I’d argue that he’s worse. For all the shit he did, at least Erebus effectively brought about the modern day of the 40k setting.

Mannfred flat-out ended Warhammer Fantasy for a good few years.

In universe the same, but for fans of pre AOS then the absolute worst. Got it.

I hate that I am defending the ET, but let's be fair: He doesn't get pissy over not ruling the world, his current position was such that throwing in his lot with Chaos had better prospects. Fates worse than death exist, and Nagash is a dick like that.

Also, I always find it sad that the hate for his actions in the ET gets extended to the character as a whole. Mannfred is a great character. But the ET changed one of the smartest people in the setting into a whiny idiotic teenager. Honestly, I can only conclude that it was never Mannfred, but the Changeling all along, which would also explain the finale. One might ask why the Changeling would be so shit at embodying someone, but maybe it knew it would still work and thus did such horrible acting for shits and giggles, AKA the main motto of Tzeentch.

The End Times and Age of Sigmar are a bad fanfiction that never happened regardless of what GW says.
