Better Ask Reddit Times when you suffered major emotional whiplash when playing a game?
Question inspired by my own experience with FFXIV the other day, where within about a 2 hour period I completed the ARR Paladin Zeta relic as a Free Trial player (yay) and then completed the Vault in Heavensward (not yay).

Comics/Manga For the people who read DC, isn't Guy Gardner a lot more abrasive in the comics than in the movies?
Like, I legit thought he was kind of the massive asshole lantern in the comics, and... well he's an ass in the James Gunn verse, but he's pretty chill for most of it.
Granted, my only exposition to Guy Gardner in the comics was when he literally mooned Batman through a window. And Batman commented about how Gardner needed to shave his ass.
So maybe there was some context I was missing to why he was such a jerk in that comic in specific (although I fail to imagine how mooning Batman was justified lol.)
That said, I hope he's an abrasive asshole, I kind of love that panel of a deadpan Batman just staring deep into the abyss and thinking "This man needs a shave."

Gameposting Games that stick out to you for having unbalanced difficulty
Lately something that I found interesting was that one trope that occasionally shows up in action games where a game can go from being utterly merciless to suddenly being too easy to exploit because I was looking at how some of the older games by Capcom fell into that pattern.
One infamous example is Megaman X3 as I know the game came out so long ago, but while I know Capcom didn't do the development of the game themselves, I was just taking a look back at the programming aspects since I found it really interesting how the game suffers from balancing issues as some of the enemies can do a ridiculously high amount of damage early on, but the thing about the boss fights is that I noticed how several of them are easily exploitable such as Blizzard Buffalo due to a bug in his programming that allows the player to effortlessly mow him down through a specific jump.

Better Ask Reddit You guys have any Manga rec that is mostly environmental storytelling?
I've been reading Nihei's work lately (The Blame!, Tower Dungeon dude) and what I like the modt about his work is how minimalistic it is in its dialogue.
Nihei was an architect as far as I know so, in his works, the environment tells the story, sure theres some dialogue to situate you, but Nihei is a lot more interested in showing you his world than telling you about it. It gets to a point that the atory almost becomes esoteric (though it doesnt quite get there, it's no Angel Egg, there's still a clear cut story.)
Do you guys have any rec for more manga like this?

Better Ask Reddit Favorite Factions you'd like in a Story mode/Game Campaign
The campaign of the new Call of Duty, MW4 got spoiled to me and while I have mixed feelings and the South vs North Korea war #2 is a contrived as ever for it to happen as is the invasion of the North. It is kinda rare to play the Koreans in this sorta shooter game so a modern version of it is fun in that sense.
Though I fell off the Avatar seried abit I still do like it. In like a playable story mode to show off the world and cool battles with messed up warcrimes. The Fire Nation Invasion up until their retreat in the Seige of Ba Sing Se. Putting like this I wonder, Fire Nation Scout or Earth Kingdom Slinger. Maybe it'd be selectable.
Another one I'd like is Madness Combat. Cuz while Project Nexus reveals how the world got crazy colorful and scifi energy depedant/using. I'd like to play the backstory of how the AAHW took over Nevada.

News/Articles Marvel's Wolverine star Debra Wilson isn't sure why Insomniac used her likeness for Callisto: "I honestly love games where they don't look like me at all"
Speaking on a June 2026 episode of Hyperfixated with Joseph Shepherd (which has since resurfaced on social media), Wilson was asked by the host why so many characters she plays feature her likeness. She explains, "The game designers do that. I don't do that," recalling that this was the case with Star Wars Jedi's Cere Junda, Marvel's Wolverine's Callisto, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's Amanda Waller – the latter of which she notes, "I am so grateful that I've played Amanda Waller from the Suicide Squad in three different iterations and only one of them looked like me."
Wilson adds, "I honestly love games where they don't look like me at all," and asks, "If it just looks like me, then how do you get a chance to really escape into a character?" For her recent role in Marvel's Wolverine, Wilson notes that Callisto "is a known character in the world of X-Men" and thinks, "Why make it look like me when there are so many iterations?"
Wilson also notes that she's been cast as "European character with foreign accents," saying "I love doing those characters." She adds that when she returns to do pickup lines "I go back in to do that to look at them and see me, and not see me," explaining "I look at it, and again, feel me in that: I am in there like I'm really in there."
Love Debra Wilson, completely agree with her sentiment. Maybe it's just because so many games nowadays are going for motion capture and facescans for as much "realism" as possible.
