Recommendations Food Needed
Hey is there anyone that can help me out with food. Me and my family would definitely appreciate it no matter how big or small the help is.

Hi, Reddit! It’s Anna Oakes and Stephen Marcantel, reporters with The Current. We’ve been covering the ordered closures of hotels by Lafayette Consolidated Government and law enforcement over the last week, as well as the community members who have been impacted.
Both motels that received closure orders — the Plantation Motor Inn and the Express Inn — have been targeted by LCG and law enforcement for being the site of thousands of police calls, as well as significant drug busts and at least one homicide, since 2023. Government officials announced a plan on Monday to fast-track closure of five more “nuisance” properties to combat crime and blight.

I know Youngsville sports complex has markers that indicate if you have done a quarter mile or half mile or full mile walk. Basically one lap around YSC is exactly a mile. Does Moncus or Girard or others have something like this?

Has anyone tried it? Any good? Love central pizza, but too pricy to eat there often

I swear I saw one that had the words "Woke Left" on the screen. Surely this is a prank of some kind?

This is a very random topic, I guess, but anyone know of a good place around the Lafayette area to purchase soldering supplies? Flux, solder braid/wick, leaded solder, etc? Big box stores don't sell much for electronics, and are more geared for plumbing solder jobs.

I just moved to Lafayette and looking for a few recommendations.
A good veterinarian clinic/hospital for my 4 year old toy poodle. She had an established vet but looking to get her set up here.
A pet groomer. My puppy has had a groomer for 2 years, going every 6 to 8 weeks so she's handles it pretty well and is fully vaccinated.
A human doctor that I accepts TriCare Prime.
A good weight loss clinic.
Thank you all in advance for your help and recommendations. Btw....I love the lack of traffic compared to Houston. Keep it up 😁.

Hey guys. Im planning to move to the area in the next year, work has me possibly setting up in either the opelousas, Crowley, or breaux bridge areas. Any tips or places of interest someone can point me too? And also things to watch out for or cons of living in certain areas? Thank ya in advance.

My family just started Big Al's Fig Farm which specializes in selling fig trees. We need to find a graphic designer who specializes in creating logos for businesses. Does anyone have a recommendation for a local designer?

The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend, I’d like to go on a little nature walk. Maybe have a picnic. I love the Jungle Gardens at Avery Island, but I’d like to see something new. I don’t require much, just some trees and some quiet. Any state parks or nature trails I should check out?

I was driving home from work yesterday down university avenue and noticed like 4 black colored cameras with small solar panels connected to them. Are those flock cameras? They are set up from i-10 down to Cameron. I thought Lafayette was safe from espionage.

Anybody else have a bad experience with NP Julie at Abbeville General? The attitude from her is something else... She treated me with such contempt that I honestly felt like I was being treated like a prisoner of war. The hostility was completely unwarranted, and it took me a while to get over this and I've been though a lot worse in my life.
Is it even worth reporting such things to the board?

Hello, I'm currently based in New Iberia and wondering if there are any recycling dropoffs that will accept glass and/or plastic bags nearby. I'm willing to drive up to roughly 30 minutes one way. Thanks!

If I wanted to set up a table in a public place, like a park, and give away books free, is there any legal problem with that?
I read a lot, and I end up with a lot of books I'm not going to read again, and I thought it could be something nice I could do for people in the area.

What can I plant in the ground around here that would actually survive?
I recently tried some pampas grass but that got absolutely roasted in the heat.
I've tried planting directly in the ground. Adding some compost or potting mix on top.
I currently have red drift roses bushes roasting in a raised planter filled with a rose specific soil, mulched, and sitting on top of the natural ground.
It would be great to have something that flowers, rather than a hedge or tree.
The full bed size is basically 10x10.
I'd really like to plant a perennial that fills out the space, or as a fail-safe, a ground cover like English ivy or blue rug juniper.
Please help. No shade. Not great drainage. I'm a couple hundred dollars of experimenting in the hole.

Looking for recs for a cardiologist. Ideally, someone who takes his or her time with the patient, listens to their concerns and does things like, I don't know, remember their patient's name. Thanks!

Alesi's has been a solid staple in our family for over 50 years, nothing super crazy exciting about it but always really good pizza, a nice unique crust and sauce recipe that kept us coming back, and the comfort and ambiance of the place was a home for many of us.
Mike the first and Mike the second were awesome and always a pleasure to see at the helm.
I know nobody lives forever and tastes change, but....
Our visit recently found a sad shell of a restaurant in decline and disrepair, the food mediocre, the bathrooms a mess.
I'm sad that the family doesn't seem interested in taking on the legacy, but each to their own.
I know they are trying to sell, but I don't think running it into the ground helps with valuation.
This is more a requiem than a complaint.
I miss the breadsticks too.
