Official Notice šŸ•Šļø Community Reminder: Respectful Dialogue & Open Exchange

Hey everyone,

We just want to take a moment to thank all of you for helping make r/AstralProjection one of the most interesting and supportive spaces on Reddit. Every day, people from around the world come here to share their stories, struggles, and breakthroughs — and that’s something really special. ✨

Lately, we’ve noticed a few discussions getting a bit tense or personal, so this post is simply a gentle reminder of what keeps our community strong:

  • Rule 1 – Be respectful. Speak to others the way you’d want to be spoken to.
  • Rule 9 – Share, don’t impose. Everyone’s journey is different — we don’t all have to agree, and that’s okay.

We’re here to explore together, not to argue about who’s right. Respectful debate is welcome; ridicule, sarcasm, or hostility aren’t.

A few people also asked about ā€œlow-effortā€ posts — just to clarify:
āž”ļø We don’t ban for that. Posts that are too short, unclear, or repetitive are usually just removed with feedback or warning. Offensive posts or spam are escalated.

Our focus is on keeping the energy here positive, open-minded, and mature, not on punishing anyone for sharing.

So keep posting your experiences, keep asking questions, and keep helping others find their way.
Let’s make r/AstralProjection a calm, inspiring space where curiosity and respect guide every conversation. šŸŒ™

With appreciation,
– The r/AstralProjection Mod Team

Are you already familiar with Astral projection and looking for motivation? Click here.

Introduction

Astral Projection, or an Out-of-Body Experience, or Near Death Experience, is the process of detaching consciousness from the body and travelling into non-physical reality; this reality is commonly called the Astral Plane. This is NOT the same as lucid dreaming; however, they are intimately connected; keep reading for various explanations of the difference. By using certain techniques and shifting one's awareness in specific ways, one can experience leaving the body, standing next to your bed and looking down at your physical body. From here, you're able to fly amongst the clouds, visit a different country, discover space, speak with other astral projectors or learn lessons from masters and guides who live in the Astral. You can discover yourself and the journey of your soul and learn new and objective information such as the history of our planet or possible future events. All of this is possible because the Astral Plane is commonly described as the 5th dimension of nature, which if you understand that in terms of raw science, you'll understand that it is beyond time and space. This sounds far-fetched at first, but in practice, it is perfectly understandable and it's a perfectly natural state and an innate ability that anyone can do.

Contrary to widespread knowledge, there are already numerous studies and tests to prove or at least suggest that OBEs is scientifically verifiable phenomena. Look up Graham Nicholls, who has had thousands of experiences, verified them with witnesses and is also being tested on; he is 100% objective and scientific in his approach, we hosted a Q&A event with him in our Discord which you can view here. Additionally, quantum physics is on the verge of understanding the multidimensional truth about the universe. Astral Projection is not paranormal and is not pseudoscience, it is absolutely natural phenomena. May we remind you that lucid dreaming was not considered 'real' up until around 40 years ago when enough scientific studies and media were surrounding it to finally be accepted into collective knowledge.

Furthermore, this topic seems to have certain stereotypes attached to it, such as the type of people interested in it - in our experience, you will find only that the most developed, intelligent and sincere people are those who are highly experienced. Those who are arrogant, egoic and uneducated are usually the ones who can be more delusional and inexperienced. Regardless, no matter who you are, even if you are sceptical or religious, anyone, from any walk of life, from almost any belief system, can achieve Astral Project. Thus your life, and your perception of life, will never be the same again - Astral Projection goes beyond belief, beyond anything one can imagine it to be like; it is one of the most authentic experiences that you'll ever have. It is not an escape from reality, but a unifying experience of a deeper, truer and intrinsic reality. It is not a dream, fantasy, visualiation or imagination. It is a full-on out-of-body experience in the true sense of the word; when it happens, you will know. This is Gnosis; knowledge based on direct experience, rather than belief.

A good introductory lecture on Astral projection can be found here.

The Golden Rule

If you want to learn how to Astral Project, you need to put in the work. You need to study the subject, read, watch the videos, get inspired, meditate and practice. Some are more natural at this than others, but regardless, anyone can do it; you need only to make an effort to master it like with anything in life. Practice makes perfect. It's the same as learning martial arts; you have to get up, go to the dojo, get to know the techniques, how it feels, and align them with your body and mind until mastered.

A Message To Everyone Who Is New

This link contains information about common misconceptions about Astral Projection, please read it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AstralProjection/comments/ayq2zo/the_same_questions_keep_being_aksed_over_and_over/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Remember, Astral Projection is the process where one detaches consciousness from the body. By using certain techniques one can achieve the sensation where you leave your body, stand next to your bed and look down on your physical body. You take control of your energetic body (this has many names) and you are able to manoeuvre this energetic body wherever you desire. For the sceptics, we know how it sounds. But we promise you that it is very real and if you put your beliefs and speculations to the side for a moment and practice, you will experience it for yourself directly, which is completely different from what you could ever imagine, and will surpass all of your expectations (unlike a dream, which lives off expectation).

As to what Astral Projection exactly is, it is of little practical use to discuss this. You can, but you will see that belief and speculation is all in the mind. Whether it is a spiritual experience or a scientific one, all we know for sure is that it can be experienced. It can be done. Everyone can do this. Draw your own conclusion AFTER you Astral Project. Until then, you are just either accepting or disregarding the ideas of other people. An idea can be a tricky thing. It spread fast and if the idea comes from someone who never projected, and does not know what he or she talked about, then it can be a damaging influence.

As well as all this, please be sure to read our rules. They are in place for the respect, equality and benefit of everyone and in them hold core principles that this community values.

What's the Difference Between Lucid Dreaming & Astral Projection?

In their deepest essence, lucid dreaming and Astral Projection are very different. Just one explanation you can say is that dreams are an inward subjective experience of your own creation of infinite possibilities, but Astral Projection is an outward objective experience of actual planes of existence that have laws and limitations similar to the physical plane. Unlike dreams, it is a real and tangible place where you can interact with others. Sometimes though there are experiences blurred between the Astral and dreams and it can be difficult to tell the difference. And also the opposite of this explanation can be true whereby we can have shared dreams and non-shared Astral projection. Check out this post and the stickied comment there. There's no absolute formula to tell whether it's a dream or the Astral unless you are experienced, which usually comes after years of practice and honest introspection. What's important is that we learn from wherever we find ourselves in the non-physical; dreams can be just as, if not more significant and profound than Astral Projection, in terms of learning about your own personal spiritual progression.

Check out this video for a full explanation

Continue to check out our Wiki for further explanations, you will find so much useful information in the library of this subreddit. For example, here's a great post explaining: "Is Astral Projection Real or Not?"

Is Astral Projection Dangerous?

Where is the man that keeps telling everyone he never returned from the Astral Plane? How can he spread this message if he never returned? Among all the experienced Astral Projectors who have done it thousands of times, no one ever got stuck, got hurt, got possessed, got 'memory wiped', got reincarnated etc. This is all nonsense, ridiculous fantasies of the mind which derive from fear and fear-mongering.

Remember this well: Fear is a product of ignorance. People who don't have knowledge will fear that what they don't know. If someone shouts "DEMONS~POSSESSION~EVIL", it is very likely that they have no idea what they are talking about. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Every experienced Astral Projector will tell you this. You cannot get hurt. You can fly straight into the sun and get out on the other end without a scratch. Actually, if you read deeply enough, you will find many Astral Projectors have come to the understanding that we all leave the body every night unconsciously anyway.

Can Anything Possess You While You're Out of Body?

You'll find a lot of misinformation and fear-mongering about this and it's mostly nonsense. Astral Projection is absolutely safe and natural. Read these 2 arguments from an Astral Projector's point of view:

1. The Astral body is connected to the physical body in a similar way that a radio is connected to frequencies. You can't have one without the other. PROJECTING implies one location to another, so two locations, not just one. You can be on the other side of the galaxy but still connected to your body. You can also look into the 'silver cord' about this.

2. The fact that we all Astral project every night unconsciously anyway implies that it is most likely safe since you don't really see anyone becoming possessed. In a sense, it's actually safer to practice Astral projection than it is not to, because at least then you'd be conscious of what you're doing and being influenced by at night. Of course, you can't really know whether we Astral project unconsciously every night until you become experienced yourself, but many authors will agree on this.

What is the Astral Plane Like?

Imagine the Astral plane as a place that has different layers, it is multidimensional. It is possible to travel between these layers. Imagine a very high skyscraper; every floor has its own characteristics, its own inhabitants, its own surroundings... its own vibration, frequency and energy.

The first floor is a place of lower vibrations, close to the Earth. It's likely that when you Astral project for the first time this is where your first experience will be. The Astral Plane is a place you share with other humans who Astral project, but also with a lot of regular people that inhabit these planes as their primary home in the afterlife.

When we say low vibrations we mean a low form of consciousness. Not low as in stupid or lesser, low as in dark, restraining, limited. Fear for example is the product of a low vibration, and love is a product of a high vibration.

Check out this diagram and read the stickied comment there.

More on Fear

Fear is nothing but fear itself. It is not a danger to you, it is not a brick in the face. It is simply a feeling that you can completely control and choose whether to feel or not. When it appears, just breathe and accept it. What you accept, you go beyond. Never let fear influence you. It is an undesired state that controls you; instead, control it. There is nothing to be scared of. You can encounter a scary experience, so what? Alright, that was scary, but that's it; an experience. You will get used to it and get over it, and new and more enlightening experiences will follow.

Now to speak more spiritually (sceptics keep your pants on); there are many types of inhabitants or forces in the Astral that can assist you in coming out of body. They have been commonly called guides, masters, angels, spirits etc. Regardless of their labels, they are authentic beings that want you to help you. Your compass to attract them is a sincere and open heart. They have much to share about life, the universe, existence and so forth. These beings are of a highly positive nature, ask them for help and they will. They have your best interest in mind and will teach you many things you want to know. Remember, the Astral Plane is the 5th dimension, distance between objects do not exist, a simple thought or feeling can attract a 'helper' who will come in no time. With this said, many will be sceptical of whether such a thing is possible; that's fine. There is no need to believe in such things. However over time and experience you may start to understand how it is actually possible. It's all about keeping an open mind.

An IMPORTANT Message to Everyone Who is Experienced!

We live in a time where Astral Projection is finally reaching the masses, slowly but surely! We can be part of the initiation of so many new people. The only thing it requires is patience and wisdom.

This sub is not like other subs on Reddit. It is not about being an overly active sub. It is not about posts that receive a lot of upvotes. Its function is not to entertain, it is to teach, with an occasional laugh.

We truly see this sub as a library. We collect as much information as possible and make it available to everyone who walks in. It is a library of development, and in the hallways of the library, people are talking about all kinds of subjects. Sometimes related, sometimes a little less related to what the library offers. Who cares. It's not about the conversations in the hallway, it is about the collection of wisdom that the library offers. It is about the people who walk in and have no idea what is going on. It is about teaching as many people as possible what this all is, how to experience it, and collectively, as a species, discover this next aspect of life.

It can be very frustrating. We know. The number of new people who come into the library shouting and screaming all sorts of things grows by the day in this world of controversy and illusion. The flow of new people entering will never stop - that is a fundamental fact that makes this sub what it is. There are a lot of online forums that have only a few experienced Astral Projectors, but this is the most popular virtual space there is with many wise and experienced members, and this, therefore, implies important work and provides purpose for those who are experienced; to help other souls realise their potential is one of the most beautiful gifts you can give to others.

You can do 2 things:

  1. You are annoyed with the new people who visit our library and you decide it is too loud and you leave.
  2. You see a group of new people walking in the library and sit down, smile, listen to the ridiculous things they have to say from time to time, and even enjoy it sometimes, and say, "Alright, now sit down and let me show you how it actually works."

Everybody has to start somewhere. It is the internet, reflective of our dear human race's collective chaos. Every single kind of person on the planet is represented here. Take that into consideration. Be patient. Try not to be so uptight with gatekeeping. Everyone is welcome here to learn and discuss. Try to see the bigger picture. How long this sub can exist depends on how many people it can help and benefit and how we help each other as human beings.

There is not much more than we can do than present all the information in an easily accessible way as we do already. People will always be lazy and ask the same question as we all know. Answering can be boring, repetitive and annoying sometimes. However, we will never stop. We believe in spreading this knowledge to everyone and we hope you do as well.

If you have the knowledge and you know how to Astral Project then now is not the time to hold onto that knowledge privately. Now is the time to HELP. Humanity is in a state that NEEDS help. So many people are on the verge of awakening. If you know EXACTLY how to project, then you know EXACTLY what a beginner needs to know. The core reason why this subreddit has thrived for so long is that there are special souls here who have been helping others. Share what you know, teach, give guidance, share your wisdom. Only good can come of this. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Those of you who are already helping, you are noticed, and you are truly appreciated šŸ’›

A couple of Buddhist quotes summarises the philosophy of this subreddit well:

"Our visit to this planet is short, so we should use our time meaningfully. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them."

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle. Happiness, knowledge and wisdom never decreases by being shared."

General Question You guys don't hate people like me who want to use astral projection to potentially shift right?

I don't know if this allowed or not but I joined a discord "Astral Traveler Institute" and had a conversation with the mod "bret" (who claimed to be a big authority figure in this reddit) and he didn't like that I said I was hoping to further my knowledge on astral projection to shift permanently so that I may continue my spiritual and personal growth. And despite trying to explain to him I believe based of my personal experiences, interviewing people, collecting date, analyzing testimonials, etc he proceeded to call me names, say I was mentally ill, and basically told me that all of you here hate shifters and think were all just a bunch of mentally ill losers who just want to escape and no other reason.

Now honestly this didn't move me and I found him humorous since he basically running a dead Astral projection discord because he questions everyone who joins and if he doesn't like your answer he calls you a laper and kicks you. But I'm welcomed here right? Like I would really like to further my astral projection journey with the help of this server and majority of yawl are open minded right?

I'm just asking this question because homie claimed to be an authorized figure in this reddit and was trying to basically debunk my shifting and astral experience and research by claiming that this reddit hates people like me. So I'm just asking if I'm welcomed essentially because I would love to talk and discuss my experiences with all of you.

General Question Banned from Astral Projecting?

Any ways I AP by using the Monroe rope method.

This particular time I tried as Im going fully into sleep paralysis, I start to pull myself up.

Only to find a humanoid entity/apparition pounce on me. I was not afraid but as soon as it made contact with my chest it produced a startle effect. It’s starts violently shaking and now Im freaking out. It raises a fist and slams it into my chest.

The sensation could be described as a vibration in my chest that felt as if my chest was going to explode, very intolerable. It also felt as if I was being tickled.

This was all in the span of 5 seconds and at that point i managed to scream out ā€œokay, okay, I’ll wake up, I’ll wake upā€

Upon waking i see an after image of it. Very freaky stuff.

I tried 4 more times only to become more and more aware it was gonna happen again.

Haven’t AP’d in months and im afraid to try again.

Anyone here with similar experiences? Or an idea of what might be going on? Thanks

I'm not talking about NDEs where someone dies on the operating table. I'm talking about someone being put under, say for a colonoscopy or dental procedure, and then going out of body.

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Seeing things through my mind during Sleep Paralysis

I am not sure what I do is Astral Projection anymore. At this point I think I need a coach or something because I don’t even know what Is going on. Is this AP? Are these just hypnagogic hallucinations?

When the vibrations get me, I am not sure that I separate from my body. I see things through my mind for sure, and I have a hard time trying to keep my physical eyes shut during those because I keep confusing them with my ā€œother eyesā€. I see my room, today I even saw the neighbour’s roof, but I don’t feel like I am ā€œoutā€ with another body. I can control getting in and out of this state when it happens, I usually need a little break because the vibration kind of suffocates me. Are these just hallucinations? After some months in the community, I don’t feel like this is exactly what you AP people are talking about and I feel a bit lonely because I know that these experiences I have are real. Maybe they are just hallucinations, but they for sure feel way more different than a dream. It feels just like another reality.

Was This AP? Idk what this is

I have a question. So basically I was trying to astral project in my room. So it’s dark but there’s still light so things are still visible. I was staring at my bunk bed whilst laying down. And like everything started to disappear and distort slowly. My body was tingling. Idk if this is me starting to astral project or something else. I just wanna know what this is! But I got really really scared and I always snap back to reality and everything goes back to normal. I wanna keep looking and seeing what happens after the distortions but I’m too scared

Negative AP Experience Is some entity preventing me from astral projecting? Why would it do this?

So yesterday I was trying to astral project. I was lying down, still conscious, and was about to try rolling out of my body.

The moment I tried it, I started seeing this bluish-violetish tinge even though my eyes were closed. I knew my eyes were closed and thought, okay, I'm about to project.

But when I tried rolling out again, I saw a silhouette against a dark background. It looked similar to my mother. Then this entity called out in an urgent tone, using my mother's voice, as if something serious had happened and she needed my help.

For a moment, I thought maybe it wasn't real and I should just continue trying to project. But at the same time, I kept thinking, what if my mother actually needs me?

I couldn't take that chance, so I immediately returned to my body and woke up. I went to check on my mother, and she was sleeping soundly.

Now I'm wondering whether these were shape-shifting entities that can take the appearance and voice of someone familiar to make you abandon your projection attempt. That's what it felt like to me, although I'm not sure what actually happened.

If something similar happens again, what should I do? Is there a way to avoid being distracted or frightened by these experiences and continue attempting to project?

Negative AP Experience Some of my experiences, some scary

When I was around 10 my grandfather passed and my father often spoke about him telling him that he was watching himself from above and that the roof had too much moss up there!

I have experienced NDE as a teenager whilst choking on my vomit after a bought of pneumonia. I don’t remember looking at myself, but I remember a strong sense of acceptance and peace.

When I was around 17 I had a crush on a girl in my year. We used to talk to each other on MSN and the usual. One day we both randomly messaged each other and said we’d had dreams of each other.. I asked her what she dreamt, and I said you go first. She said that she dreamt I was trying to find a toothbrush in the back of her car. The scariest thing of all was my dream I had I was trying to find a toothbrush in her car! Seriously, weird but that’s what happened. She was quite a level headed intelligent girl too. I still can’t explain that one to this day.

In 2021 I lost my grandmother and me and my partner held her hand as she passed. She began saying ā€œshe’s done it, she’s finally done it… Libby, she’s killed herselfā€ā€¦ she was 99. She then started reaching out and rattling. About a week or so later I was in bed on my phone about midnight and my partner was snoring. I had the lamp on, the room was well lit wheh suddenly this black mass floated into the room almost motionless and pressed down ontop of the bed.

Last year I became involved with a local lady who was into the same historical studies as me and soon I learned she was into more in depth topics. After me telling her that we needed to cut contact with each other, my intense night terrors started. One night / morning I woke up and she was stood next to my bed grinning and waving. I’ll never forget the haunted looking face. Later that day she actually turned up at my house uninvited for this very reason. She visited me 3 times and my partner twice over the course of 6 months or so. I still can’t explain what happened and part of me wants to know: it wasn’t dreaming. I explained the situation to a friend and they said that she was astral projecting. At one point in a strange dream we had a full on lucid conversation. I have not yet confronted her on this and have no desire yoi as quite frankly it’s the most scared I’ve been in my life.

General Question Looking to be educated, looking for advice (Sleep paralysis + Astral Projection)

Hi, my name is Lucy. I’m a 28f
I’ve always been a bad sleeper. I’m very familiar with sleep paralysis. I’ve experienced it for most of my adult life. Realistically I’d would say I can expect to experience it maybe 2-4 times a month. Might skip a few months sometimes, but not enough to where I fully forget about it.

Every time it happens I panic, every time I’m fighting to move, every time I find myself focusing on my breathing because if I don’t, I feel this overwhelming sensation on my chest. Some feel like they last for 2 mins the longest. Some I get out of quickly, but every time I am terrified.

I read an article about how you can turn sleep paralysis into something positive. By learning to astral project during it. I’m completely foreign to this. So I’m writing here to maybe learn from someone who’s already accomplished this.

Here’s what I know so far. Which isn’t much but pease correct me if I’m wrong on anything.
Sleep paralysis is the perfect state to begin astral projecting.
There’s certain steps to it. The vibration during a transitional phase. The separation phase of leaving your physical body visually, through the rope method or possibly focusing on floating upwards. And the astral realm, moving away from your physical body.
What are your opinions personally on the benefits to this? What would you advise me to do or not do? How do you personally start the transitional or separation phase? What more can you tell me?
I’m so curious to hear directly from someone’s experience. Are there good book recommendations on this?
You don’t need to answer every question but that’s just my staring curiosities, Regardless I’ll try to learn more on my own but would genuinely appreciate all input. Thank you.

General Question Questions for those experienced in astral travel?

As someone that has never experienced astral projection, I have questions for those who are;

- Can you also visit in the physical world and know what they are doing or only on the astral plane?

- Can you pick up on thoughts, emotions, actions, intentions etc. of people?

- Can you remote view past actions of people?

- Is astral travel also possible in the physical world without a body?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Shapeshifter alien greys

This was the first time I couldn’t tell if this was an OBE or astral travel. Last night at 5am I saw a purple/maroon geometric pattern while I was sleeping, I focused on the pattern and then saw what looked like tree frog legs, one north/east and west in the peripheral of my eyes that then turned into 3 grey aliens hovering over my body. There was still this beautiful iridescent geometric lining behind them but I was terrified. This isn’t my first experience with aliens but this was confusing to me because I couldn’t tell if I was dreaming.

AP / OBE Guide Astral Projection techniques without visualization

I experience life with aphantasia, meaning I can't visualize in my mind. It affects about four to five percent of everyone. So, for example, I don't see images in my mind when I read a fiction novel, and don't have a movie in my mind when reading fiction unfortunately. So I mostly read non-fiction.

It's not a defect per say; a survey of Pixar employees came back with something like 50% claiming that they had aphantasia, although I do wish I had a visual imagination. I'm creative in music and also visually in terms of design, and have somehow developed a lot of visual designs over the years for websites or other types of graphics. It's like I have a graphics card with no monitor.

A lot of techniques to instigate Astral Projection use visualization, but I don't have that as an option, and is frustrating. It's an important goal for me to have out of body experiences. What are some successful techniques that don't involve visualization?

Edit: I posted this to r/aphantasia as well and it got deleted by the modes for being 'pseudoscience'. A reminder that many people don't know that this is a way to experience reality on deeper levels.

General Question Seeing with eyes closed

last night when i was going asleep i could see through my eyelids. it was dim compared to actual vision, but clear enough. im confused because i could move around so i’m unsure if it could be sleep paralysis, I could sit up and turn onto my side, move my arms and blink. i was seeing shadow figures that were not clear but dark compared to the outline of the walls and the bed. i really freaked out because one came over me and when i turned from my back to my side one came up from the side of the bed. i only got to sleep by putting my head in the pillow so im sure i was moving. im house sitting this huge old house and im terrified of paranormal.

i’m not sure where is the right place to post this. pls lmk if this should be posted somewhere else.

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Enchanted night time eden forest

It was a dark starry night and there were multiple trees with purple luminous hanging fruits. They almost looked like plums/apricots and there were also enlarged grapes. Most of the fruits were radiating and still hanging on the trees, ready to be plucked. The scenery felt holographic/almost like kaleidoscope colors. I reached this location after hiking through multiple trails after I left a casino. It felt peaceful and like I should eat the unknown fruits. I reached for fruits that were already on the floor before I could take a bite I woke up. Anyone else been here?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Amethyst never ending pit with holographic grid/sacred geometry

Has anyone seen this pit before it glows a radiant amethyst purple color. You can see the crystal formations as you peer down and a holographic grid as you peer down
You want to jump in because it feels like something you need to do to travel to another dimension but you are slightly intimidated.
I’ve been trying to find it again because I was to scared to jump in.

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Computing/science lab

Have you guys been to the lab before? It’s inside of the hotel nuzzled inside the hospital after walking through active surgery’s, unkempt hospital beds
You have to go through a few sterile white hallways with double sided doors to reach the lab. I recently had a dream where I entered the lab and looked at a computer screen with some strange hieroglyphs esque coding.

This room had a large white cylindrical device that looked like it was part of a space craft it was 12 foot tall with maybe some sort of fan component
I felt a sense of doom looking at the thing.

General Question Hypnopompic Hallucinations or Thin veil?

I’m aware of how our brain works during sleep and upon waking and falling asleep etc. the different states of sleep. When I wake up, I lay in bed eyes closed and a screen forms kind of like a tv screen turned on. In the view I can see things like a person outside relaxing under a tree, or a street of people walking by, it feels like imagine sitting at a window near a busy street. You see people walking by. Sometimes the vision is of a random room I’ve never seen before. I try looking around the room to see where I am. The moment I get excited that I’m having this ā€œhallucinationā€ the screen slowly zooms out and then there’s nothing. I open my eyes and then close them again to try and get it back, after relaxing for a bit, it sometimes comes back and I get the vision again and of course it doesn’t last forever. My excitement causes it to disappear. This doesn’t happen often it’s random. Is it a hallucination because of how our brain works upon waking up? Or is this something spiritual?

General AP Info / Discussion Amazing Healing

An Amazing Story of Healing

For as long as I can remember, whether in dreams or in OBEs, I have been told that I have to empty the trash — basically, take out the garbage.

It took me a very long time to understand what they meant. I didn’t even know how to take out the garbage, because how do you take out garbage, right?

A year and a half ago, I went through a traumatic breakup, and I was so broken that I had no other choice but to lie down and meditate. I had reached the middle of my life, and I was completely heartbroken that every relationship and everything I felt I had tried so hard to achieve had just failed. I couldn’t understand why, and the self-blame was huge.

Honestly, I didn’t know how to fix myself, if there was such a thing, or how to even begin.

So, after the breakup, I basically just broke down and started meditating, studying, and attempting out-of-body experiences. I did have a few, but my body was in such pain due to years of illness and a car accident I had been in 25 years earlier.

By now, I was basically begging for help. Or you could say I was begging the other side for help.

And what showed up was a book called No Bad Parts about IFS therapy.

There was nobody in the area who could help me with this form of therapy, so I learned it myself. I started applying it in my meditations.

I soon found out that I could use it for emotional pain as well as physical pain. When I used IFS and accidentally fell asleep during a session, I would always end up dreaming of past lives that contained the sort of pain, trauma, injury, or whatever was bleeding through to my current body.

Alternatively, I would dream of the current past in a way that pinpointed exactly what the issue was.

After every session, I started the tedious work of releasing this trauma, breathing through it, talking to it, and it never seemed to end.

I also understood that every relationship and every situation I encountered out in the world was there to teach me something. Every time I got triggered, I eventually came to understand that this was not punishment. This was something trying to tell me something.

So eventually, I got pretty good at this, but it was very hard.

On top of this, I was accompanied by many very clear dreams that felt like out-of-body experiences, but with a reduced level of awareness compared to what you have when you’re astral projecting.

They would always contain information about what was coming, what I had to do, and where I had to look.

In the sequence I’m going to tell you about now, I first had a dream where I was told that I was going to get a new jacket. I was taken backstage this world and told that I was going to get a new jacket.

To be honest, I had no idea how that was going to work out when I woke up. So I continued the shadow work.

At one point, I met a person I fell in love with, and I was more occupied with being in love than with taking care of whatever I needed to do internally.

So I had a dream telling me, ā€œPlease come sort this out.ā€

And again, I’m like, what more can I sort out? The only thing I know how to do is IFS therapy and shadow work. So I’m basically going to go back to that.

The pain in my body from the car accident was increasing, and I started getting really agonized. My hands and feet were swollen and burning, and I was at my wit’s end.

By now, I had spent at least a year and a half doing IFS therapy and shadow work, and I was basically losing hope.

Last night, I lay down in my bed and completely surrendered. I said, ā€œYou know what? It’s okay. Whatever is going to happen will happen in its own good time, or timing.ā€

And I fell asleep.

But before this next sequence, I had another dream. As I was waking up, there was a voice saying in my ear, ā€œI will see you soon.ā€

In what seemed like another experience somewhere between a lucid dream and an out-of-body experience, I met this priest — or someone who appeared to me like a priest.

Without any words, he basically ripped out a large quantity of tangled hair, black dust, and different items from my lungs and my back. I wouldn’t say it was a handful; it was much more than that. What he pulled out occupied the larger part of my lower lungs and the middle back.

Then there was this man standing at the other end. When the priest finished, the man started singing for me.

And then I woke up.

Today I'm free of pain. My hands and feet don't burn anymore and I can sing again. I've been dancing all day and the deep grief I held in my abdomen is gone. I don't even have back pain anymore.

I am, literally speechless.
