Economic We will have a 1973/1981 recession very soon because of gas prices

Hormuz closed. Saudi East-West pipeline out of comission for 1 month minimum. Russia is producing 60% of their normal production due to Ukraine attacks. China not buying oil for now, but when it starts it will increase the price even further. Saudis told Europe that they are not getting any oil in September/October.

Gas prices in Europe are approaching 2.5 Euros/Liter.

In the US they are around 5 Dollars/Gallon.

Renting a tanker costs 1 Million Dollar/day. Just one year ago it was 200k.

Transportation, industry and consumers cannot take this for long.

US household savings rate is down to just 3%. Credit cards maxed out. Auto/student loans at an all time high.

EU gas reserves are just 2/3 of their maximum. By this time last year they were at 80% capacity.

And winter is coming. This means more gas for heating. This means more gas for vehicles.

If gas prices dont normalize and the flow resumes within a month or so, then a recession by the end of this year or the beginning of next year is almost certain.

Then we also have the AI bubble where AI is burning through money and investment is drying up.

Food yields will be lower due to farmers not being able to afford gas and El Nino wrecking agricultural production.

Considered that the US is 40 Trillion in debt and most people are living hand to mouth, a recession could mean a depression very soon.

The Great Depression went from 1929-1933/39

The Greatest Depression from 2026-2039?

So your a traitor and a coward that abandoned your comrades in the working proletariat and fled instead of staying for the fight to fix things?

Ow, I hurted my eyeballs from rolling them too hard.

Lol. Americains don't want to "fix things". They only want to think as far a head as the next quarter, bag their bonus and punch down the next rung on the economic ladder. They won't even think outside their little box, as long as gas prices are low and fast food and cheap shit from china is abundant. If that's how they think about their coworkers and neighbors, you can't expect them to think nationally let alone globally in the upcoming poly crisis. Feel free to try, but you can't rally your community when there's a 1/10 chance you'd be shot on site just for ringing a doorbell.

I enjoyed the 2 decades I spent there but it was time for me to dip out. Good luck

Americans = Corporations in your mind? The average American doesn't own stocks and doesn't care about the next quarter.

It definitely doesn't help that people whom are like minded and thus would be useful are fleeing. You could have been a leader and inspired others.

What will you do when end state capitalism and then fascism arrive where you are now? Flee again? At some point you must build the society you wish to live in.

I guess I reflected on my 20+ years of experience and figured I'd rather do it elsewhere

Humans are a migratory species and it's natural for them to "flee" when bad things are happening with worse on the horizon.

Are you going to judge the Jews who escaped during the Holocaust? The surviving Palestinians who have fled their homeland? American slaves who escaped to the north? Soviets who fled the USSR? Others who have fled and escaped warfare, genocide, fascism, and god knows what else?

I hope you will not end up in a position where you might have to make the decision one day but you might want to ask yourself what will you do when state capitalism completely ends in America and fascism is the law of the land?

When you think about that question, don't let your ego and delusions of grandeur assume you'll become that inspiring leader.

Besides, most inspiring leaders in fascistic times get shot down before they even start to bud.

Yeah, fuck those people who also flee war zones and genocides! 😍

1919 mindset.

It's 2026

u/RetroTechBro 28d ago

1917 you mean?

The years are different.

The problems are largely the same

The solution is the same.

2

u/DougDougDougDoug 28d ago

No. I specifically chose 1919

u/RetroTechBro 28d ago

Wait what happened in 1919?

I honestly thought you were referencing the October Revolution of 1917, which would at least make sense in relation to what I said.

I was saying OP was a coward in the sense that (furthering this analogy) he'd have fled rather than taking personal risk fleeing Tsar Nicholas's Palace if this was 1917.

This is peak American entitlement. Why should I work hard to make that country better if y'all won't do it yourselves? It's like being a passenger in an out of control car driven by psychopath directly at a brick wall. Time to tuck n roll my friend

No no, it’s time for another unprecedented/“once in a lifetime” economic collapse, then the next 500-1,000+ year disaster just to really kick us when we’re down right in our soft collective underbelly.

You’ve gotta keep staggering them for maximum human suffering, since apparently that’s the only way God can cum.

Also born in 81. I’m tired. We’ve had enough generational disasters already
