Something similar happened to me in real life as a trans woman.

In for a regular checkup and my doctor told me i needed to get my regular pap smear. While i do have a after market couture vulva, i don't have a cervix nor uterus

I told her, "i don't think that's something i really need, i don't have a uterus" she responded "oh! i didnt know you've had a hysterotomy, well even post hysterotomy, they are still used to check the health of the cervix.

Told her: "I dont have a cervix either", she just looked at me blankly and said "they dont usually take out the cervix........" at which point she finally looked back and consulted my medical history and facepalmed and apologized profusely. I just laughed and enjoyed it LOL

This is confusing to me because as far as I'm aware, the cervix is typically removed during a hysterectomy. I'm a trans man who has gotten a hysterectomy, but I got it before I came out due to chronic pelvic pain. My cervix was removed at the same time as my uterus (I already had my fallopian tubes removed before then, but they would have also been removed if I still had them).

There's no reason to leave the cervix due to cancer risk, and some endometrial cells can still be on the cervix and cause "mini periods" if not removed. That's the logic my surgeon gave for removing the cervix as well as the uterus.

I was given the option on what I wanted to do cervix-wise, pre-yeeturus (and bilat salp) surgery. I yeeted the little bastard, since it'd just been a source of pain during intercourse if it was bonked. Which...also likely wasn't helped by the endometriosis and cysts that were on and evicted with the pain organ lol. I left the cervical cuff the fuck alone per doctor's orders for longer than the recommended time, and everything healed up nicely. *nodnod*
