I think that ties into the toxic masculinity aspect of fight club. Why do men feel like they need to struggle, why do they think they need to be warriors instead of poets. If it is a time of peace and prosperity why does society still tell men they have to be ready to fight.

I mean poets need to struggle, too, otherwise their art will be bland, unrelatable and uninteresting.

Way more great artists came from poverty than from prosperity
