We went to 9 cities and about half of the hotels in the €100-200 range had glass bathroom walls and doors. Despite my best effort I ended up with 3 out of 9 hotels with glass doors due to recent remodels or lack of pictures. It felt more common in Austria.
Maybe you went to more newer high end hotels. I usually went to cheaper and older hotels and there it's been fine, seperate rooms and completely closeable solid doors
When you're on a trip, you tend to want to book decent hotels instead of what you do when you're traveling locally: "just need a place to sleep that isn't a car seat".
