OC A Comic about DID - Part 9 [OC]

If you want to help playtest this mod, join our Discord! It features the creation of different "profiles" on one account which each have their individual skin, location, inventory, and their own keep inventory toggle.

You can download this without joining the Discord here, but keep in mind it's still in early beta so there will probably be bugs. The keybind for the alter menu is 'K' by default.

"the vessel" is some badass terminology.

Do you or any of your vessel-mates happen to be fans of Delta Rune?

No! But a little bit by association, I'm into Undertale.

I do not have DID or any other diagnosed mental disorder, but I once tripped super hard and didn’t go to sleep.

Thought my trip was over the next morning cause I hadn’t really experienced anything abnormal in a while (my sense of normal was probably pretty fried at that point) so I went to get breakfast in hopes of filling myself on pancakes and going to sleep.

Anyways, smoked a fat bong and started walking. Not 5 minutes later I’m feeling real fuckin strange again.

For whatever reason I’m just walking around and my brain keeps telling me “this is my vessel. This is my vessel” in reference to myself. At this point I’m like watching myself walk and looking at my hands because it felt like I was separate from my body. Not visually separate, like I wasn’t looking at myself, no out of body stuff. But I just felt like a pilot of a meat suit and not a holistic person where the body & brain are in natural harmony - as seems to be default/normal.

So I just went back to my apartment and came down from the high. Eventually I went and got lunch instead.

Interesting that someone else has referred to their body as their vessel before. Glad I’m not alone in the strangeness! Psychedelics provided me with a lot of empathy for those who suffer from mental disorders that I did not previously hold. Reality is a fragile thing.

The idea of it being cool and badass is exactly why you mostly find people pretending to have DID in this way.
