The truth is a lot of people just don’t care how many men, women, and children have to die just to protect their hobby.

The truth is about 40% of the US doesn't grasp someone is real until they personally meet that person.

The kids killed in school shootings are exactly the same as nameless minions killed by the hero in a movie.

I think we need to stop the killing of nameless minions in movies and video games.

Like in your average Lego game, you beat up so many random humans to pieces without second thought.

On one hand, it’s not that deep, on the other hand… could this subconsciously be harmful?

Normalizing violence towards a deindividualizedgroup of people?

This has been studied, and the people who played violent video games were no more violent in real life than the overall population.

Presumably, if they were desensitized they'd also be more violent themselves.

That’s the thing - it’s a fucking HOBBY. All the “but protection/safety/freedom” arguments boil down to “my right to feel like John Wayne is more important than your children’s right to live.”
