This has happened now twice to me. A couple of hours of game play each time.

I'd suggest checking your GPU's power cable, on both ends. My problem (which seems to be solved, now) was likely that mine had a slightly warped pin on the GPU side. Though it might also have been a driver issue, given that the other thing I did was reinstall Windows from scratch (for mostly unrelated reasons).

When I first got issues I had a complete crash, and eventually wiped my pc. I am not sure what is going on but I have capped my frame rates at 60, in game and out, to keep temp down and utilization down while running high graphics plus agream but at some point the game just uncapps it and starts going crazy into 160 and then poof. Only.... this game......though. just this game.
