Ontario driving question: Who would be at fault, and how could this situation have been avoided?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on a driving situation captured on my dashcam in Ontario.

I’d appreciate your thoughts on who might be at fault if a collision had occurred, as well as how both drivers could have handled the situation more safely.

What happened:

* I was driving in the right lane when I noticed a sign indicating that my lane was ending, so I needed to merge left.
* At around the same time, there was a side street on my front-left. A vehicle was approaching the main road from that side street and intended to turn left onto the main road.
* I realized that the vehicle was partially blocking my path, so I moved slightly toward the lane on my right to avoid a potential collision.
*Update: As I was moving slightly to the right to avoid a potential collision, the other vehicle also moved to the left into the lane between the two solid yellow lines.

Might as well have taken that light since you were already committed past the line. This how accident happen. Especially if someone was to whip at that corner to catch the light to make a left going southbound where we’re coming from. plus it’s not a camera light (yet).

How to efficiently review parking footage.

I noticed the mrs car got dinged, no protected recording or collision triggered.

Im left with having to review a weeks worth of parking footage, is there an easier way? Mainly thinking 3rd party software.

Roundabouts are NOT that hard people!!

You just yield for people already in the roundabout, it's NOT THAT HARD!!

Happens almost every other day on my way to work in the morning. I honked the crap outta that driver, but my dashcam doesn't record audio unfortunately...

Edit: since a lot of people are pointing out about the double lane roundabouts, I agree that if it were a two lane roundabout, then I would've been in the wrong. But as you can see the roundabout is one lane due to the construction, and the joining side street has two lanes. So all outside traffic should yield for people inside and then do a zipper merge into the single lane roundabout. It's definitely bad design as some have pointed out

Questions on setting up rear camera

I'm new to using a dash cam system and I'm curious about how others deal with the rear camera.

First, at night the reflection of the rear brake light is blinding the camera. Is it the position of the camera? Or do people add some sort of barrier to block that light hitting the lens? I've installed it top middle of the rear window.

And second, I have a hatchback and so I need to give a little bit of slack to the cord. In the second image, is there anyway I can hide the cord a bit more? It's not terribly distracting, but it would be nice if it could be a little more obscured and tucked away. I'm not sure how best to fix this. Or maybe moving the camera would fix both issues?

Thanks!

[OC] The Nissan driver aggressively passed the Mercedes on the shoulder only to get stuck in traffic immediately ahead of the Mercedes for the next 15-20 minutes. Bonkers.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to fix this without replacing the camera?

I’ve noticed that at night, the camera doesn’t filter the light; there are times, when I have passengers, that their faces aren’t even visible because of the headlights.

I stopped, they nearly rear ended me to change lanes. Might need to add the rear facing module to my camera. Was close.
