Hambone turned 10 today + past years birthday cakes
My old guy gets tired easier, a little stiff in the joints, and has a face full of white hair but I love him just as much if not more than the day I got him. Hope I can make you many more years of birthday cakes, big guy!
No recipe for this year's cake, just combined shredded carrots, unsweetened applesauce, an egg, honey, flour, baking soda, and baking powder and baked at 350 for about 20 minutes. "Frosting" is mashed sweet potato, peanut butter (make sure it doesn't have xylitol), a dollop of plain Greek yogurt, and honey. Decorations are cut apples and American cheese.

Thank you! We wanted to give him a goofy name because he's a pretty big dog so people wouldn't find him scary, and he lives up to it!

He really is so sweet, unless you're a squirrel, lizard, insect, or mouse. Everyone else is his friend, haha.

They're all about the same ingredients, the only different one was the 8th birthday. I boiled some blueberries with a bit of water and some honey and once it was cool, mixed it with Greek yogurt to make a kind of "mirror glaze". Hambone didn't end up liking it thought because it was too tart, so I went back to sweet potato mash for the subsequent cakes because he likes it way more.

Very cool ideas. I should try making one next year. My dog loves to eat & would gobble it down in minutes.

Thank you! Thats probably was my favorite one to make, but ironically his least favorite (he liked the cake but not the glaze- not a fan of blueberries). It came out pretty though!
