Royal Geelong show - spook ride

Hi guys I have a question, I think it’s called the spook ride but I do remember it was near the pony’s. My dad and I went on the ride because I absolutely love horror and thought it would be fun, long story short the actor smelt me and said “you smell so beautiful goddamn” I have a video but I was laughing because it’s all I could do. You can hear him clearly saying “goddamn” I asked my dad what he said as I wasn’t sure but he was also uncomfortable. Going through the second part he jumped out and said “peekaboo” and touched my back which I jumped forward, at the end he ran his hand through my hair which was out, I jumped foward and said “stop” I laughed because I was extremely uncomfortable. When I got off the ride I asked dad if he was touched at all, and he wasn’t.

Are actors allowed to do that?

[Request] Please help me find my doll house- repost

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

I am making another desperate plea to find my dollhouse which was sold without my consent in the Geelong or Port Arlington areas. Please let me know if you have any information

These are the only photos I have.

i have posted this befpre but did not provide the context as I didn’t really want to go there, but here it is. It's like a soap opera, even i can't believe it*

The context here is unfortunately very complex.

This dollhouse was being held by my mother in Portarlington. I live about 5-6 hours away and due to the size of my place, having a young child etc, I wasn't able to have it. But throughout multiple conversations etc I have made it very clear that I wanted to keep it as it is soon special to me, and that I will organise a courier or someone to help me transport it once I had the room.

Without going into too much family drama- she started blaming myself and my younger siblings about maintaining our older sibling's (who is no contact with mother) boundaries and not sharing personal information formation etc. She actually turned quite aggressive over it. After many therapy sessions, posts on here etc, it seems I was right for doing what I did and that she's actually a huge narcissist.

But I digress,

I still maintained my intentions to collect the dollhouse.

Once I was finally able to, I told her I was going to organise everything etc to which she told me that she sold it to a "more deserving family" for $30.

Of course I was devastated.

I have posted on as many Geelong and surrounding groups and had one reply, from the apparent buyer. It was an anonymous poster who straight away became very aggressive after I asked if I could message them privately (to minimise public interaction) to ask if I may please make a decent offer or ask for better photos etc. They refused and got quite nasty, with multiple comments about how my mother was soo wonderful to them and that we are horrible children etc and the abuse was so damn hurtful. I tried my best to keep face because no matter how much she hurt me, I dont sink that low.

I was getting alot of other comments from public profiles on my side and trying to stick up for me, then I was getting horrible comments on my profile from my mother and it was just a whirlwind.

Then we started noticing weird trends- the way the "buyer" spoke, words and how they were said sounded like her.. sibling were mentioned, all this stuff that makes me think it was either her or her cousin who was the "buyer".

Then recently I had another lady come to me saying that her daughter bought the dollhouse and wants to sell it back. Turned out it was a scam

Im still not giving up though.

Bellarine HYW speed limit change

I'd love to know why the numpties decided it was a good idea to drop the limit on the Bellarine HYW to 60 from Eastern Cemetery when 70 was perfectly reasonable. Muppets.

Local electrician needed

Wondering if anybody has had any luck with a good local sparky that won't charge an arm and a leg. I need a 32A circuit and a 32A plug next to my power box so I can plug in my EV charger.

I got a quote recently and they were asking $800 just to install the plug and then tried to upsell me a charger too for an extra $1100. I don't mind paying for good skilled work but $800 for a 30 minute job and a compliance certificate is a bit rich.

Any recommendations would be helpful.

Thanks all

For those that saw my previous post about a caravan being stolen from Geelong West on the morning of the 14th, new CCTV footage confirms the vehicle is likely an SZ Ford Territory, and that it was last seen travelling along Thompson Rd towards Corio. Please keep an eye out.

Images attached: screen grab from CCTV, a photo of the caravan itself, and a photo of the believed make/model/colour of the offending vehicle.

Ticket offer - Geelong Comedy Festival

Hi Geelong! I’m bringing my comedy cabaret Little Miss Typecast to the Geelong Comedy Festival next week.

It’s about me growing up performing but never aging out of the 8 year old roles… I’m 26. The show is camp, chaotic and a whole lot of fun. It has done really well at festivals across Australia, and I’d love for Geelong to see it!

More info here:

https://geelongcomedyfestival.com.au/chloe-halley-little-miss-typecast

Use code MT25 for 25% off

This clip is a little sneak peak of some of the nonsense that goes on in the show, if it seems like your vibe I would love to see you there!!

I've made some questionable life decisions. Now I'm bringing a comedy show about them to Geelong.

My mate and I used to have this unhinged upstairs neighbour who would go absolutely mental at us for the slightest noise - like sneezing too loudly.

My mate's solution was to keep the noise down.

My solution was to buy a drum kit.

On a totally unrelated note, I got diagnosed with ADHD this year at the age of 40, and I've written a comedy show where I look back at my life through a completely new lens and finally try to make sense of all the ridiculous decisions I've made.

It's coming to the Geelong Comedy Festival in less than a week, on Thursday 22 October!

It's called An Englishman in a Baseball Cap, it's a lot of fun, and I'm 87% sure you'll love it.

Also, a little heads-up: tomorrow (Saturday 17 October), there's 15% off all ticket types for 15 hours only, from 9am until midnight! Just use the discount code MARKET15 at checkout.

https://geelongcomedyfestival.com.au/stuart-foreman-an-englishman-in-a-baseball-cap

And here's a clip from the show to give you a sense of what to expect.

If it's not your vibe and you think the clip is the unfunniest thing you've ever seen, please still check out the Geelong Comedy Festival. There are loads of great shows that deserve a bit of love.

Be Lucky

Food donation scammers

OK I’m sick of the food scammers. Just now I replied to one on another town sub saying I had seen them tonight on this sub and within minutes they deleted their post.

Don’t be a sucker. Anybody in real need knows where charity food outlets are or will ask where they are.

Anyone asking for a money transfer is a scammer. Don’t fall for it.

If you go to the Geelong show take cash

Cash is king signs everywhere and higher prices for people paying with card (in the form of discounts for cash). Some of the games were “$10 discount if paying with cash” so unfortunately had to cop it a few times.

[Public Transport] where is the best place to live to work at the hospital?

Hi all.

Myself and another healthcare worker are going to be full time at Barwon Health UHG next year. We are going to move to Geelong to make it easier. Currently in Torquay and travel to Kilgour St and park for free all day. We were considering moving within a 30 minute walk, but that is unfortunately not looking so easy. Is there a bus route that runs frequently you think would be easy to live near? Are there any other hacks for good parking or short travel time?

[Request] Poker venue? (Private event)

Does anyone know of a venue in Geelong for a private poker night? We will need to rent a table and a dealer.

I only found two websites online. Both looked a bit dodgy and seemed to be out of business.

[Request] Help needed!

Hey everyone! I’m 18 years old and live on the Bellarine. I’ve reached a really crap financial situation. My car has broken down and a mechanic has told me it’s not even worth fixing up because of rust. I desperately need a car for work and getting to school and this is a post just calling out for help. Whether it’s advice or if someone has a car that they no longer need (preferably a 4wd for work but honestly anything is better than nothing), or even if someone has some work that can be done to help make some money towards a new car. Anything helps!!

My friend's caravan was stolen from Waratah St Geelong West at around 3:50am this morning. So far, this is the best footage we have of the vehicle involved. Looks to be a red Ford Territory, travelling along Shannon Ave.
