Need gift suggestions gift ideas for guys that aren’t clothes/shoes?

hello! i’m wanting to start christmas gift shopping for my boyfriend(24) but i’m at a bit of a loss for what to get for him. he for sure does not want any clothing, underwear, shoes or just things you wear in general. when i do ask what he wants he either ends up buying it himself or tells me he doesn’t know/want anything. what are some items that have been big hits for you?

Gift suggestion Gave my sister a bath setup for her birthday and she's already bought a second soak

She works nights and told me she hasn't taken a bath in two years because the tub has nowhere to put anything. So I skipped the pretty stuff and got her a bamboo tray plus a lavender soak.

Three weeks in she's reordered the soak. The tray is what changed things, I think, because a book and a mug finally have somewhere to sit. Lesson for me: a gift that removes one small annoyance beats a fancy one.

Still debating whether to get her the matching pillow for Christmas or if that's too much. Anyone else buy the logistics gift instead of the pretty one?

Need gift suggestions Needing help - christmas company gifts

Good morning,

I’ve been in charge of the christmas party at work, for a few years now. We are a small company with around 30 employees, from 15 to 60yo, we work for 3 small funny convenience store with imported products, TCG etc. Last year I had made a few branded items like playmats, water bottles and stuff like that. Everyone pretty much had the same gift, with add-ons for the managers etc.

This year we want to do a big table with wrapped gifts. We would have a lot of mini-games and each employee would blind pick a gift on the table once they win.

We plan on buying each gift twice so we only have 15 ideas to find. They will be able to swap if they want to.

We have around CAD$90 budget per gift, and plan on buying most of it on the Black Friday, so any idea that is a bit above the budget can be considered to.

Here’s what we have so far :
- JBL speaker (the JBL GO or something similar)
- Instax Mini
- Sol de Janeiro box
- Lululemon gift card
- Friend photoshoot with a local photographer
- GTA VI???? I believe our younger employees would love it maybe not idk
- Kindle (if there’s a breathtaking deal)
- Sony headphones
- NHL tickets in Montreal (I have to make HUGE DEALS on the other gifts to take this one)

Here I am so far. No more inspiration in me, I believe clothes aren’t a great idea…

If you have any suggestion I’d be grateful.

Ps : we are in small towns in Québec and almost 2 hours away from the nearest « city », so experiences are complicated to find… english’s not my main language so I apologize.

Thank you❤️

Need gift suggestions Gift ideas for non-religious godparents / chosen family?

We’re celebrating our son’s first birthday this Sunday, and we’re also making it official that our two closest friends, a married couple, will be his non-religious godparents.

We want them to be people he can always turn to, and we’ve even legally documented our wish for them to become his guardians if anything were to happen to both of us.

We’d love to give them something meaningful to thank them for taking on such an important role in his life.

Has anyone done something similar? What did you gift your godparents, or what would you have appreciated receiving? We’re looking for something thoughtful and lasting, rather than a generic gift.

What kind of craft kit actually works well for two people without causing a fight?

I’m looking for a hands-on evening project to do as a couple instead of putting on another Netflix show. A lot of miniature room kits look charming, but when I check the steps, many seem designed for one pair of hands under one desk lamp. Is there a collaborative DIY kit style where the tasks can genuinely be split up, or does one person usually end up watching while the other glues tiny pieces?

Other Finally got a craft kit gift that doesn’t feel like cheap junk

My brother gave me a miniature house kit gift set for my birthday last week, and I honestly almost rolled my eyes when I opened it. Usually, these DIY gifts are made from thin balsa wood that snaps right away and come with terrible glue that leaves your fingers stuck together at midnight.

But I sat down and started building this little greenhouse last night, and the wooden pieces are surprisingly sturdy and snap together cleanly. I’m actually having a lot of fun slowing down with it after work.

Now that I’m hooked, I’m looking for more quality miniature house kit gift set ideas for my cousin, who also likes hands-on stuff. For people who build these often, what should I watch for so the next one doesn’t turn into a frustrating nightmare?

Need gift suggestions-male friend Return gift suggestions for my guy friends

So full context:

It is my birthday week and where i work the birthday person usually gives a little something to everyone, it's usually a food item like a puff, samosa, something like that if not that then atleast a chocolate, now since it is my birthday week I was planning to get something really nice homemade for my colleagues but the thing is my mom got a fracture and I wouldn't have enough time to cook something for them so that plan went out of the window. I genuinely don't wish to just get a random samosa or puff from somewhere and give it to them its too common and cliché so I figured i would give them a small little budget friendly gift. Now for the women I figured i would give them jhumkas because they were all complaining about how they don't have decent oxidised jhumkas to wear so that stuck with me and I figured I'll do that for them. But now I'm a little confused as to what I could give to the male colleagues.... My budget is roughly 100 rs and there's like 3 to 5 of them, the age group is mid to late 20s.... I could really do with some help on this one 🥺🥺

Is this a lame gift to get from your boss?

Hi all, I buy Christmas gifts for my team out of pocket every year — about 40 people, and ~$10/person is what's realistic for me. Last year I went cheaper and people seemed to appreciate them, but I wished I'd spent a little more for better quality.

This year I'm looking at a gift set: a 40 oz tumbler with straw + a zippered tote bag, with a "Thanks for Making a Difference" design on them. I plan to add some location specific text to make them a little more special. I ordered a sample first to check the quality before I commit to 40.

Honest opinions please — would you actually like getting this, or does it read as generic company swag? And if I do go with it, what's the best way to personalize 40 of them so people's cups don't get mixed up at work? I've thought about a Cricut, but 40 names is a lot of cutting/weeding. Thanks!

Need gift suggestions What to gift grieving stranger

I was on facebook marketplace looking to buy a world map for my room. Saw this listing and decided to message the seller. She told me she’d leave it at the door and to just leave the money under the mat. I responded with a thank you message and she apologized for not being able to meet in person because they had just lost a family member last night and are busy.

I replied basically saying that I could always come another time if today isn’t appropriate and wished her my condolences and she said it was okay and already left the map on the door for me to pick up.

I don’t know if it’s considered weird but I just feel really sympathetic and I thought maybe I could leave a little something on the door as a sort of gift or something for their grieving? What do you guys suggest? Or is it too invasive for a stranger to do?

Should I leave flowers? Gift card? Food basket?

Would appreciate some advice today because I’ll be leaving in a few hours

Update: thanks for the comments. Everyone had different answers which allowed me to gain insight from multiple perspectives. Ultimately, I felt the most appropriate thing to do was leave a card with a little message inside. Something simple and easily disposable incase she isn’t open to receiving anything. Decided not to go with any gifts since I don’t know her very well and didn’t know what would be useful for her. But thanks for the suggestions :)

Need gift suggestions-mother Mother’s 60th Birthday

Hi,

Would love suggestions for my mother’s 60th birthday in Jan. She is based in Canada (I’m not) and my budget is around 300-400 CAD.

I’m struggling for ideas because she’s quite particular and lives a pretty bougie life already lol. She gets massages/goes to spas regularly throughly the year, so as nice as something like that would be, I’m not sure if it would be special.

I’m thinking jewelry, or a nice statement piece that she can have for a long time. However, I’m very open to any creative ideas.

As much as I like the idea of something very sentimental, it’s not the kind of relationship I have with her so I’m less keen on that. But of course still want to get her something nice.

Thanks!

Gift suggestion What holiday gift would you want to receive from your boss?

Looking for recommendations for my husband’s employees. We generally spend somewhere around $100-$150 each. There are a mix of men and women. I’m running out of ideas and would like to know what you might want to receive as a Christmas gift from your boss.

We’ve done Christmas platters and similar items from pottery barn in the past, but I worry about contributing to clutter. Gift cards seem so impersonal. Is something consumable more appropriate?

Need gift suggestions-father Audiobook subscription suggestions as a gift?

My dad likes audiobooks but is super fussy about the narrators. He has sleep issues and audiobooks help him nod off. What’s good? I tried audible and spotify subscriptions. He falls asleep instantly with a regular book but loves stories.

I’d like him to have an option with good narrators and multiple books per month.

Gift suggestion Gift idea for a birthday or someone moving away. Get their people to write notes they open one at a time

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Full disclosure, I made this. It's a site where a group of people each write a note for one person, like coworkers for someone leaving or friends for a birthday. When they open it, there's a little machine and every note comes out in its own capsule, one at a time. The video shows what they see.

It's free to make one. I made it because collecting messages over text and pasting them into a card always felt flat.

Need gift suggestions-brother Gifts for my adult brothers?

My two younger brothers are terrible at coming up with Christmas lists. They say “I’m not sure, I’m still thinking” up until 2 weeks before Christmas. They’re both in their 20s and I’m not super close with either of them so I don’t know any recent interests- only from when they were younger.

What have you received or given to a sibling that you thought went over well?

Need gift suggestions Heading to Texas to see a childhood friend (28F). What gift should I bring?

will visiting a friend next week known since we were kids. She's 28 now and lives in Texas. want to bring her something, but not sure what.

Ideas so far:

  • Print some old photos and write a handwritten letter
  • Bring local snacks or tea (I heard the US doesn't allow meat, eggs, or fresh fruit?)
  • A nice silk scarf, light and useful
  • Or just treat her to a nice meal

Which one sounds best? Keep it simple. Thanks!
