Game Discussion Anyone else addicted to Cyberpunk 2077?
I think I have a bit of a problem, lol.
I have played the game 3 times with all 3 paths. Platinumed it. Finished every possible quest and task. But still keep returning to the game just to drive around or even walk around the Night City. If I come back after a few weeks break, I even get emotional. Never had an experience like this with a game.
I have tried KCD2, Witcher 3, RDR2 to fill in that hole but none of them worked even though I enjoyed them I have not even finished any of these yet. Currently trying to push through Witcher 3 but it doesn’t feel the same at all. And then I tried the most typically recommended Cyberpunk themed games, including the newest indie one called Nivalis Nights. After 12 hours I was again back at the Night City.
My only hope is that GTA6 might kind of fill in that space for a bit until we get the next Cyberpunk game but I don’t know. I like Cyberpunk not just because it is in this incredible yet fucked up city but also because it is a scifi/fantasy city.
Wondering if anyone else is as obsessed with Cyberpunk. I got the game on my old potato gaming laptop to see if I can enjoy a replay with some mods so I would also really appreciate any mods that add more content or interactivity to the game. Not that into cosmetic mods

Request I need a thoroughly braindead (but immersive) game
Hello!
So I have a toddler. I work. And I am heavily pregnant. I am absolutely knackered by the time the evening rolls around. Gaming is my favourite hobby, and I use it as a way to escape in the evenings and really let myself destress.
My games of choice so far have been story-based games (LiS, The Quarry), exploration/survival (Outer Wilds, Raft, The Long Dark, Astroneer, Rimworld), building games (Hotel Renovator, House Flipper) and the odd MMO (WoW and GW2 in particular),
But every single one of these games now, I just can't focus on; I load them up, run around for a bit, close it. I have been playing Catan online, but it's just... Eh.
Can anyone recommend something easy to get into for a tired person, with a tired brain, who wants to be immersed but cannot handle anything remotely complicated? Lol.

Game Discussion This is one of the best GBA games
So I decided to get The URBZ for GBA because im going in a road trip soon and saw it for cheap, I didn't realize how good this game was, its funny, there is surprisingly alot to manage and one of the most interesting Sims game I've played in decades. Im surprised how I haven't really heard much about it. I feel like it has alot of depth for a game I wasnt anticipating. I also love the setting its kinda dingy but has alot of character. Idk this has just been super fun. Idk id love for ea to actually make shit like this again lol

Tech / Hardware any cute keyboards that are also functional?
hiya!! i've recently been trying to find a new aesthetic keyboard that i like, but i'd love for it to still be viable for multiplayer shooters (siege and marvel rivals in particular), so nothing that has input delay or is too uncomfortable to use. but i would still love it if it could look "cute"... think pink, purple or a nice blue! maybe some cute keycaps as well.
does anyone have any recommendations that aren't custom ones (unless they are in a mid price range)? i'd also prefer to not have a wrist rest if possible!
mouse suggestions are welcome too, but i love my logitech go pro superlight 2 a lot, so it would have to blow me away haha.

Game Discussion Any other beginners for WoW Forever
Hi! Have not posted before, but I very much appreciate having this girl gamer community ☺️
I have not not played World of Warcraft before, I tried a few years ago for an hour. Now I am happy to join with the hopefully more casual Forever. Any others with same plan? ☺️
I am going to make a dwarf hunter, but use a bow, and maybe focus on skinning, herbs, mining. Any tips for a beginner very much welcomed!
Only thing I am bit wondering is finding a party to do dungeons etc. I think DPS is the easiest to start with but since so many are DPS characters, I wonder if it will be difficult to find a party. Of course I can skip dungeons if it turns out impossible.
I am not total noob, have managed to play e.g. Elden Ring and Path of Exile, but I have never played an MMO 😅

Misogyny Why are men jerks to female gamers? Spoiler
Hello! I’ve never played online before so I’m obviously brand new. I’ve noticed how men swear and act like complete jerks. Any women gamers I’ve come across are nice and pleasant.
How do you deal with this? Has anyone else experienced this?

Misogyny Tried to find female Let's Players with an RTS focus and stumbled into the most infuriating incel mess imaginable... Spoiler
(Tagging this as misogyny because I literally can't find another explanation for what I've read)
So today, after spending the last weeks binging Anno 1800 videos while working and started playing more RTS on my own since I've gotten nostalgic, I've decided on an innocent little Google search to find some RTS-focused Let's Players - who are also girls. No big deal, right?
Well first off that annoying AI summary feature from Google told me that there aren't many female RTS players on Twitch and YouTube and that women are more into cozy games, recommending me a video, which it literally described as "A women exploring the difficult world of strategy games", which already pmo immensely due to the wording.
But AI is sh*t anyways, so onwards to the Reddit threads!
Oh, dear gods, I wish I had bleach at home.
First off, there were several threads in several game-specific subreddits about female RTS gamers that were actually started in good faith as far as I could see... only to then lose all hope when I scrolled to the comments and got hit with a full broadside of bullshit like this:
"Try introducing a girl to wargame. Their eyes glaze over once you start on the diatribe as to why the T-64 is superior to the T-72." (Yes, because me being a girl means I can't have an interest in history or technology, alright...)
Or how about we add a bit of open transphobia to the pot:
"You brought up Scarlett as an example of "pro female player". He was born a man. Not a good example. Even if you would have named a real female then an exception proves the rule." (Seriously, wtf. Are my eyes reading.)
"Non of the females played they just watched while their boyfriends played or their friends boyfriend played. Walk into a yoga class and its 80-90% females." (Beside the fact that I hate men using the term 'females', this is from a comment of someone trying to prove that women are inherently not interested in a 'dudes' genre of games... with an anecdote about a fighting game tournament from the 90s...)
"I'd make an argument about genetic preferences and biology but i legit non ironically fear the backlash. All i will say is that biologically women are less likely to enjoy RTS games in general." (Again the transphobia, but also wtf... 'genetic preferences and biology' are making RTS a 'man's genre'?)
Suffice to say, even on page 3 of the search results I haven't found a single thread even about the thing I set out to find in the first place - and the only actually informative and wholesome threads that appeared were from this very subreddit here!
Idk I just feel a bit sickened rn from reading that stuff. Don't know if it hits me this much because I'm actually right in the middle of my transition and I am massively pissed off that apparently my favourite genre of video games 'clocks' me to some hobbyless incels, but this sobered me up so much in regards to the communities surrounding said genre.
To all fellow RTS-playing girls, you're badass and I hope you can enjoy the games as much as I do. Tbh I'm actually starting to ponder just starting an LP channel out of spite towards those idiots claiming it's a "man's genre"...

Request Investigation/Puzzle Games
I've recently been obsessed with these sorts of games and loved Blue Prince, The Roottrees Are Dead, and The Seance of Blake Manor (which I just played through twice, perfect for the season.) I'm also a fan of the Rusty Lake series and liked Strange Antiquities (I do have Horticulture, not quite what I'm in the mood for right this second.)
Any suggestions? I've heard Obra Dinn, on wishlist for next time I see it on sale. Thanks!

Game Discussion Valor Mortis
Are any of you playing this? It's on gamepass so I gave it a go and I'm quite enjoying it, although I'm struggling with the first boss lol it's a soulslike but I find it a lot more forgiving than most. It's very linear, no open world, and apparently not very long either. Since I find a lot of games overwhelming in terms of size, this one hits the spot for me. Apparently, Jennifer English has a role in it too but I've yet to come across her character. So far, it feels a bit like Dishonored meets Elden Ring.

Misogyny I’m so tired of anything remotely feminine being sexualized, or given feminine traits for the sole purpose of sexualizing Spoiler
For anyone who doesn’t know, this is from Palworld, this is a Pal who has neutral traits. It can be male or female. So of course people feel the need to give it female sex characteristics just to objectify and sexualize.
I’m so tired.

Game Discussion You know you're locking in when you accept you just have to NOT buy games for a bit.
Been hyped for Dawnwalker for over 2 years, had my eye on it since the early days where I wasn't even sure it was real!!!
And as a CAPITAL I Immersive gamer girly GTA6 looks absolutely impeccable.
But alas my life derailed pretty substantially and it looks like December-January will be the time I catch up. Finding solace in some classics (RDR1 Shout Out) and more "do-whatever" a la project zomboid.
I'm truly passionate about games, they have fascinated and inspired me since I was like 7 years old, so I hope that puts into perspective just HOW big a decision for me it has been to willingly avoid 2 things I just KNOW will keep me occupied and inspired during a really complicated time.
LOCKIN IN, CHOOMS!!!

Misogyny Misogyny in the competitive Pokémon community Spoiler
I was watching the livestream of the Nice Regional VGC Championship. They featured a match between two up and coming players Daniel Zamora and Sara Spiller.
Sara won the match in three sets, with the last one being very close and the live chat had many comments of people losing their minds over her win saying she got lucky and won't go far in the tournament. Like is it hard to accept that a woman won a match because she was the better player?

Tech / Hardware Mouse for lefties
Hi girls,
Ive been looking for a cool *lefthanded* mouse forever. I would really love a pink or purple one, but in the meantime just any ergonomic mouse that is made for lefties would help.
Do you have any recommendations? I used the search function but the one related post is 10 years old.
thank you!

Game Discussion Review of Perceptum demo (Steam)
Recommended by friends as a creepy game to try, I headed to Steam to join the playtest. In the game, you play as a medium (older woman), exploring a house where a family disappeared after moving in. You are searching for clues to what happened. The demo takes between 20-40 minutes to complete based on how you play and how much you explore.
At the beginning you are encouraged to play with headphones on, do it! It makes for immersive creepy fun! The first time I played through it was at night, with the lights off in my office...it felt intense.
The best part is how you explore the house. First, you can close your eyes to listen for sounds from the other side. Second, is the mirror. You pick up a compact mirror and use that to look behind you for clues and things that might be hiding in the house. Sounds change when you close your eyes and depending on where you crouch/kneel down; different things happen or become visible. It took me a couple tries to get all the words to appear. That makes me interested to see how this translates to the full game.
I took some screenshots from my last go round. No spoilers. There isn't anything there not shown in the Steam trailer.
I found one bug in 4 playthroughs. If you bring the mirror up inside a doorway, it can cause the mirror to disappear sometimes. Otherwise, no problems.
The Steam page says it's going to release in 2027 on PC and Playstation. It's going to be scary fun.
Here is the link to Perceptum on Steam.
Have you played it? What did you think? Did you find something I missed?

Serious Why cant you just game with a guy
I was playing a team shooter and played with a guy he send me a friendship request. Because communication is quite important in that game we shared our discord and played like 2 times for a few hours. Nothing romantic from my side we talked a little about hobbys and stuff, he was nice. No problem.
In the game there are some cosmetics for your character you can buy. I just said that I would like to get this or that. He implied that he would buy it for me. Not directly but I knew what he ment. I refused.
Now he wrote me his Mobile in discord and said I could message him anytime and he would always be there for me.
Man why can't you just have a friendship when you get along good. He's even from another country, wouldn't make any sense.
