Art & Fanworks When fat characters are drawn in a completely different art style

1: Tomohiro Nagatsuka from A Silent Voice (looks like he’s from a kid’s anime)
2: (Flashback) Yuko Ozawa from Jujutsu Kaisen (she’s a realistic depiction but like too realistic… why are her eyes so small)

Besides from the fact that it alienates heavier characters (even when there is more to the character than them being fat), the inconsistency of the art style is just annoying. Fat Gum from My Hero Academia is sorta understandable since the art style allowed for varied designs, but the sources I chose from this post have a much more uniform art style, so it looks jarring when they draw one character super different.

Most countries need "diet reeducation", the amount of superfat people in society is unforgivable. On both a personal and institutional level

True but a lot of countries go to far in the other direction. Like the body standard should be healthy, not extraordinarly skinny and pale. It would be great if they pushed for health but no they push for anorexic.

How many times will I have to hear that just my existence warrants me and many others being institutionalized??? Like, you people hate our guts to such an insane level that it almost doesn't compare to anything else. I can't even make the argument that your hatred comes from being uneducated or fear fed to you because you aren't scared of fat people, and for the most part, I believe you aren't uneducated about how people become fat or why they're fat.

I feel most of the time its just pure hatred. What's even more odd is that there's much worse things out there, than being fat. That in itself is very worrying... Because its people like you who downplay fat or overweight people having their own issues, bad eating habits, and bad relationships with food VERY much like skinny, underweight people. But because being skinny is more perferred because its "healthier", in society's eyes, suddenly we don't deserve rights, we don't deserve freedom, and we don't deserve to even live.

There's people who starve themselves just so their bodies are "acceptable", and yet, they're given more respect than we would ever recieve. Neither are right, and that's what's harmful. Because it just causes both to be overlooked and disregarded. I've seen fat people online trying to change and become healthier, and they are STILL mocked, insulted, and discouraged even then. At that point I realized people don't care about your health... They just want someone, who they deem as less, to be crucified. Skinny and fat people are two sides of the same coin that both need cleaning... So why is it that we are treated and seen so differently???

Imagine if the effort went into typing this drivel went into exercising a bare minimum modicum of self control, you wouldn't be fat any more!

I picked the words "personal and institutional" carefully

I know that as a society we have less chances to move more than ever, and combined with the scarcity of healthy options in some areas it a recipe for disaster. I also know that people often indulge in food because its an easy comfort, and eat because it feels good.

I dont doubt that for the superfat their brains are just as fucked up as an anorexic, and do believe it should be treated similarly. But that is where the "diet re-education" comes in. By offering services to people that will just end up as burdens on hospitals later on, and addressing dangerous behaviours now, I believe it's the best way to promote a healthy society.

There's not really a good reason why any normal person should be 100+ kg (for example athletes etc wouldn't fit the category) and as a society we should help these people, rather than let them balloon to dangerous levels.

I do not hate fat people. I hate the idea of fat people. They should not exist, and it's a mark of poor personal choices coupled with governments who do little to combat food deserts along with overbearing working conditions. I'm not saying that they should be shunned or bullied, I am saying that they shouldn't have been put in a position where they end up in clearly unhealthy conditions.

Calling them "superfat", referring to them as "burdens", instantly doing what op said and trivializing why fat people overeat by reducing it to "because its easy and it feels good", acting like op was ever even giving "a good reason" for being fat, calling fat people "an idea" and acting like that isnt just hating them..

Theyre not just an idea tho. They exist. You hate "the idea" Yes? You hate them. All this psuedo intellectualism just to prove op's point. You do not care about fat people getting better, you just want them to feel less by being put away. Lol

I personally do not give a shit if the lards lose weight, but hearing them cry over the reality of their existence is only a little less annoying than mosquitos

This is why I am strongly against rehab centers and psych care of any kind.
