That's getting off pretty easy. I mean only by luck didn't the woman fall under the wheels of her car, or got hit, or seriously hurt or whatever.

Can't really say who is the bigger asshole here.

14

u/LunchPlanner Apr 16 '26

"Can't really say who is the bigger asshole here."

Yes you can. It's not close.

12

its the bitch hopping on the car hood

You can't just go jumping on car hoods and attacking the drivers and not expect something negative to happen either

3

u/Mediocre-Database332 Apr 16 '26

'attacking the drivers'

3

u/TraditionalGap1 Apr 16 '26

Some of us rely on more than a short video to form our opinions

5

u/OkMortgage247 Apr 16 '26

She tried to get into the car, do you think that was to give her a hug? The driving off was bonkers but you cant really claim she wasnt trying to attack the driver

-1

u/Mediocre-Database332 Apr 16 '26

She didn't try to get into the car...

6

u/LetgoLetItGo Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

She did try, there's video of her trying to open the door of the car while it was sitting in the drive thru, happens around 40-50s.

Regardless, no one in this video was right. Shit escalated too fast for dumb reasons on both ends.

3

u/OkMortgage247 Apr 16 '26

feel free to watch the other footage from the parking lot, she most certainly did

3

u/Aggressive-Kitchen18 Apr 16 '26

She didnt even jump into the hood, she was standing there and the car essentialy ran her over.

2

u/TraditionalGap1 Apr 16 '26

According to news reporting yes, she did. You realize this short video that doesn't cover their whole interaction... doesn't cover their whole interaction, right

1

u/barkbarks Apr 16 '26

"carjacking"

1

u/vyrus2021 Apr 17 '26

"mildly inconveniencing the driver"

0

u/bfodder Apr 17 '26

You can't just go jumping on car hoods and attacking the drivers and not expect something negative to happen either

Sure, but I wouldn't expect that negative thing to be extrajudicial killing.

1

u/vyrus2021 Apr 17 '26

Who got killed?

1

u/TraditionalGap1 Apr 17 '26

What do you think happens when you jump on to moving vehicles?!

1

u/bfodder Apr 17 '26

That vehicle drove into her.

1

u/TraditionalGap1 Apr 17 '26

And instead of moving out of its slowly moving path she hopped on...

9

u/SendMeIttyBitties Apr 16 '26

I'm sorry....this would 100% be considered self defense in florida or texas if they just shot her with a gun.

After she was trying to enter your car and threatened you they probably wouldn't even charge you.

8

u/Mediocre-Database332 Apr 16 '26

Famously well-adjusted places

1

u/cukamakazi Apr 16 '26

It would not.

Wild escalation aside, the part where the driver is taunting the person on their hood dramatically undermines a claim of self defense.

1

u/Bobblefighterman Apr 16 '26

Yeah, I prefer not to compare my country to 3rd world shitholes like Texas and Florida.

6

u/insaneHoshi Apr 16 '26

You can't just go around potentially killing people just because they are annoying.

In general people don't consider it to be a potential homicide when the supposed victim, through their own choices and autonomy, knowingly put themselves in such a situation.

3

u/Melodic_Sherbet_3629 Apr 16 '26

"She was wearing that in that part of town? It's her fault!"

3

u/insaneHoshi Apr 16 '26

Are you comparing wearing cloths of one's own choosing to jumping on a car?

1

u/Melodic_Sherbet_3629 Apr 16 '26

when the supposed victim, through their own choices and autonomy, knowingly put themselves in such a situation.

That is what people blaming women for rapes say.

2

u/insaneHoshi Apr 16 '26

That is what people blaming women for rapes say.

And you are free to bring it up with them.

0

u/OkMortgage247 Apr 16 '26

Ok, and it that situation it's wrong bc thats usually in reference to women just living their lives. This woman jumped onto a moving vehicle while threatening the driver, like what the fuck else was going to happen. Its fucked up to conflate the two situations

Maybe Melodic Sherbet really does believe that wearing certain types of clothes in a certain part of town justifies sexual assault?

0

u/bfodder Apr 17 '26

You mean when the driver rammed her with her car and then hauled ass out of there with her on the hood?

1

u/vyrus2021 Apr 17 '26

"Rammed" Jesus fucking Christ the crazy woman voluntarily laid on the hood

1

u/bfodder Apr 17 '26

When the driver drove into her, yes.

Would there have been any risk if she hadn't jumped on the windshield of a moving vehicle?

Would she have ended up on the hood/windshield if the driver didn't ram her with the car?

3

u/pureliquidpesto Apr 16 '26

im sorry, but this comment is crazy. you cant just go around and threaten people, then jump onto their hoods and expect them to not defend themselves in any way necessary.
pushing the gas is the least she shouldve done.

1

u/bfodder Apr 17 '26

I'm sorry, I value human life. Please stay away from other people.

There is a zero 0% chance that either of these women own a gun, because we’re not insane yanks

2

u/wait_________what Apr 16 '26

Weird that you think causing damage to your property in an attempt to kidnap/harm you is "annoying"

2

u/smartasscody Apr 16 '26

Cool, I guess it's safer to let someone who clearly wants a confrontation with you to stand 4 feet from you while you're seated... and just hope they don't have a weapon? Apparently, she had already tried opening the car door btw

2

u/EverythingSucksYo Apr 17 '26

Tried opening the door then walked away only to come back and block the driver. It’s reasonable to think she might have gone to get something to hit the windows with.

1

u/Oboro-kun Apr 16 '26

I mean i find myself on the verge, like on one hand the driver its...nuts, but at them same time if you told me i had to threw myself at someone's hood to stop them and even taunt them. Seems like an stupid idea.

Both were playing who would chicken out first, and if you ask me while the driver its nuts, the one who's life its the only one at risk should have never done somethiong so stupid.

At one point you are on wrong because you are doing something dangerous to yourself, as illegal as you clearly can to detain someone just like that, specially by throwing yourself at their hoods.

Can the driver argue they fear she ttried to get inside the car? Like in my country people have tried to threw themselves at cars starting with open windows at least once, or stop them throwing egg at the windshield, so they stop and mug them an kill them.

I just think one is pretty stupid, and the other insane, and i dont know which one is more on the wrong here.

3

u/EverythingSucksYo Apr 17 '26

Is someone trying to block you in after trying to open your car doors and damaging your vehicle a “mild inconvenience”?

2

u/Weak_Firefighter9247 Apr 17 '26

Yes, normally someone wouldn't balance material losses like a car with body parts of another person or their life, when you could just simply call the police and get the money for repairs from the person in question

1

u/njfo Apr 17 '26

Police take time to respond, the lady tried opening her car door...

3

u/Weak_Firefighter9247 Apr 17 '26

Well, it's easy, when she tries to open the door, you accelerate, when she gets in front, you stop, when she comes to the door again, you keep going on, if she gets on top of the front, you pull back fast so she falls. Yes, it's more complex, but you won't end with the possibility of killing someone, and you'll still annoy the fuck out of her

1

u/SnooPredilections843 Apr 17 '26

Well, how can you explain common sense to the not so common people here on reddit? 🤷

If you read some of the comments cheering the driver you can clearly see the lack of concern for the life of others.

2

u/SjakosPolakos Apr 16 '26

I didnt read anything about bodily harm

I dont mind that much when such behaviour is directed to assholes.

The woman on the bonnet got there herself.

2

u/Kelsar_Dolores Apr 16 '26

Don’t jump on the hood if you can’t face the consequences, she drove slowly at first plenty of time to get off. Is it wrong yes did she have it coming as a consequence of her own actions certainly

1

u/Konrad_M Apr 17 '26

Try jumping off a moving car backwards even if it's driving slowly. It's not really an option. You would likely end up under the wheels. The driver should have stopped to give her a chance to get off and drive away after that.

1

u/vyrus2021 Apr 17 '26

Hope a crazy bitch tries to get in your car then climbs on the hood. Seems like it will go pretty well for them.

1

u/U_SHLD_THINK_BOUT_IT Apr 17 '26

Only because that woman in the car didn't sit around waiting to be a victim.

Did you even read the story? The woman outside the car wash trying to get into her vehicle to assault her.

1

u/Melodic_Sherbet_3629 Apr 16 '26

The crazy driver trying to murder the crazy person?

2

u/Chickeninyourface Apr 16 '26

Where did you find that she wasn't seriously hurt? I can't find any mention of her. Thank you.

1

u/SmoothWD40 Apr 16 '26

Same, haven't found anything about what happened to the perpetrator turned victim.

1

u/SuzyQ93 Apr 16 '26

That's what I wanna know.

I mean sure, give the driver 6 months free of driving.

But surely the crazy bitch surfing the hood needed to get charged with something, too?

2

u/pureliquidpesto Apr 16 '26

its actually very, very easy.

one is innocent and one threw their own body onto a moving vehicle after threats to then claim the status of victimhood.

you cant just disregard every rule of civilized conduct and then claim the same rules should protect you.

she ABSOLUTELY put herself into harms way when she chose to latch onto the hood of a vehicle for no discernable reason except her being batshit insane.

1

u/jackofslayers Apr 16 '26

The driver is absolutely the bigger asshole but I can still sympathise.

2

u/EverythingSucksYo Apr 17 '26

The lady on the hood started the whole thing. Crazy was mad at the driver because driver honked at crazy when crazy was going the wrong way on a one way road. So crazy decided to get out of her car, went over to driver who was waiting in a drive thru, and proceeded to try opening her car door. When crazy couldn’t open the door, she instead started to bang on the windows before attempting to break the cars antenna. Crazy then walks away only to come back when driver is leaving the drive thru and then this video clip happens. Is driver still absolutely the bigger asshole when you have more of the story?

16

u/homiej420 Apr 16 '26

Probably fair i guess. It was an escalated situation but she took it too far

11

u/smallfeetbeauties Apr 16 '26

the other one was still giving directions as she slid off lol

8

u/Rhamni Apr 16 '26

Yeah it's pretty hard to sympathize with the crazy lady on the hood. A temporary driving ban was probably in order, but if I was the judge I'd have harsher words for the victim than the driver here.

7

u/Strikeronima Apr 16 '26

The driver is the victim here.

6

u/Rhamni Apr 16 '26

Like it or not, the judge found her escalation illegal and inappropriate. She should have ended things before she was risking hood lady's life, which she could have reliably done by hitting the break when she was going fast enough. Instead she kept accelerating, creating a situation where hood lady couldn't get off the hood. The sentence was as lenient as it was because hood lady clearly started it and was unhinged and potentially dangerous. But the law still calls on victims not to escalate beyond what they have to.

2

u/bfodder Apr 17 '26

What happened to her?

1

u/vyrus2021 Apr 17 '26

In the court case crazy hood lady was the complainant.

0

u/marthamania Apr 16 '26

They'd like say this was a situation meant for police and if she had felt threatened she should have kept the windows up and called the police. And that once she was on the main road taunting the woman on the hood and not slowing down probably pushed it from trying to remove yourself from the situation to risking someone's life. Imagine she fell off and a driver behind her didn't have time to react, and ran her over? That other person would be traumatized for life and likely under investigation themselves. It's not as simple as haha dumb bitch got what she deserved, like we all think. Which is why we are not the judges here lol

3

u/bfodder Apr 17 '26

I don't think it is fair. That woman could have easily died. I expected jail time.

3

u/Tygonol Apr 16 '26

If she lives in a place with decent public transportation… worth it

2

u/zeltrabas Apr 16 '26

lady on hood literally said "go on" as the driver accelerated

5

u/Aggressive_Ask89144 Apr 16 '26

I think it's a proper solution. I don't think the driver should be imprisoned but "dangerous operation of a vehicle" works pretty well when she has a yapper on her car and she goes on the highway. Very vindictive intent. Easily could've killed her and it's on video.

7

u/NewtownLaw Apr 16 '26

I have seen too many zombie movies, crazy people are worse than zombies, once you stop they might try to attempt murder you.I don't know if I would stop in this situation.

2

u/Aggressive_Ask89144 Apr 16 '26

To be fair, I don't blame them. But you are in a secure car. I would be immediately taking pictures and calling the cops from the inside and if/when she starts getting physically aggressive and striking at the car; that's where this gets more sensible.

All she did was lay on her hood and yap. I don't think potentially dropping her underneath her wheels going onto a highway is the correct response 😭.

5

u/minimorsels Apr 16 '26

Shatterable glass windows are not secure

1

u/vyrus2021 Apr 17 '26

Gary Numan lied to me.

1

u/Revadarius Apr 16 '26

The driver may be disabled or vulnerable or have vulnerable passengers (like kids). And you can break into cars, it's actually pretty easy. Typically using any make shift weapon with enough durability and weight. And that weapon will do more damage to the squishy bag of meat behind the wheel.

My point being you should never let anyone hold you captive in a vehicle or stop your vehicle if they lose a threat, you're not as safe as you seem..

But you do have a giant slab of metal you can use to make them move without killing them, or severely harming them. If the driver in the video has hit her brakes before leaving the car park, thrown her off then driven off I'm sure she'd have gotten off much easier. The woman did climb on her vehicle, she is responsible for her own safety as well.

1

u/Aggressive_Ask89144 Apr 16 '26

She doesn't have a weapon though and is currently non-violent. And using your car as one is valid in the right situations, but still a bit much here. I was thinking a brake check would've worked good too and would showcase an attempt to deescalate to escape. But that's why I originally said the six months of losing your license is a proper solution. It's ultimately just a slap on the wrist as a non-permanent thing.

2

u/NewtownLaw Apr 16 '26

How would you know if she has a weapon?

0

u/Zero_Fs_given Apr 16 '26

Even military ROE usually has visual indications of weapons.

2

u/ermwellackshually Apr 16 '26

She doesn't have a weapon though

This is a really stupid assumption to ever make in the moment. You never know if someone has a knife in their pocket or even a gun. Hell, there might be a decent rock or brick that they could pick up and immediately destroy your window with.

0

u/marthamania Apr 16 '26

I know in America they escalate things to extreme violence really quickly but a lot of places it doesn't get that far so quickly lol

The US sure this would probably result in someone whipping out a gun or a weapon. That type of extreme violence escalation so quickly isn't as common in Australia over road rage.

1

u/vyrus2021 Apr 17 '26

Is blocking cars and climbing in the hood common in Australia? Or do we maybe think this situation is abnormal and therefore extremely unpredictable? "She didn't have a weapon" like ok great you know that now well after the fact, but why should the driver assume the attacker is completely harmless?

1

u/Most_Okra1973 Apr 17 '26

Apparently in the full video in the article, which has been posted several times by this point, the yapper started off hitting the driver's windows and broke the car's antenna off.

0

u/Daethir Apr 16 '26

Come on the driver's life wasn't in danger, and she can keep the door locked. This is like when cop justify shooting someone holding a rock and their defence is that they feared an attack.

4

u/marthamania Apr 16 '26

I feel like you can tell the Americans from the rest in this thread by who thinks this is some moment for escalation or assumption the woman is packing a weapon.

In Australia, this is probably as crazy as road rage really gets. In the US people have guns and some weird idea that every single person can be a threat you have to take out, in Australia it's more some crazy bird on another crazy birds car 😂

5

u/Daethir Apr 16 '26

I know right, sometimes it feel like Americans are waiting all their life for the opportunity to legally kill someone lmao

4

u/marthamania Apr 16 '26

Not unconvinced the American dream is that moment where you finally get to shoot the Amazon driver for delivering your package!

2

u/bfodder Apr 17 '26

I'm American and these comments are honestly freaking me out.

1

u/Prior-Ad5197 Apr 16 '26

Sadly, as an American I agree with you. Not all of us are psychos waiting to kill people, unfortunately the most vocal are. So on behalf of the sane Americans, I apologize.

2

u/vyrus2021 Apr 17 '26

Y'all don't got rocks in Australia?

1

u/marthamania Apr 17 '26

I mean the culture in Australia is usually less "let's murder people with rocks over the drive thru" than you think

1

u/NewtownLaw Apr 16 '26

That's your opinion. I would feel my life is in danger if a crazy person like that gets in the way.

4

u/abyssaI_watcher Apr 16 '26

It seems like some people haven't even been in dangerous situations and just sit in there room watching this going "yeah, I'd just sit there and everything will be fine someone else will come fix this problem."

1

u/cukamakazi Apr 16 '26

Right, but that doesn’t allow for unlimited escalation while taunting.

2

u/NewtownLaw Apr 16 '26

She is the one escalating on top of the car, what are you even talking about?

1

u/cukamakazi Apr 16 '26

When the car is accelerating, the person on top of the car is escalating?

What are you even talking about?

1

u/NewtownLaw Apr 16 '26

Well, yeah, because she keeps escalating on top of it.

What are you even talking about.

4

u/jackofslayers Apr 16 '26

Should have lost it permanently but better than nothing

1

u/thewhiterosequeen Apr 16 '26

Nah, assuming no one else jumps on her car, she probably drives fine.

2

u/EverythingSucksYo Apr 17 '26

Assuming no one jumps on her car after they tried to get into her car and banged on the windows when they couldn’t, to be exact.

2

u/Skylord_Hekaton Apr 16 '26

Or you know any kind of altercation at all where she loses her temper.

This woman is likely not safe on the roads.

1

u/EverythingSucksYo Apr 17 '26

Who lost their temper? She was calm the whole time. The lady on the hood already tried getting into the drivers car then banged on her windows when she couldn’t open the door shortly before this video was taken.

3

u/Alert_Term_8144 Apr 17 '26

She sounded calm because she was in the safety of her car, but she was sarcastic and vengeful. When someone kills another they don't have to be acting hysterical.
