When my kids were new to tying shoes I tried to get them shoes with laces to reinforce the skill and I had a surprisingly hard time finding them for a reasonable price. They've both been taught about 3 times now because they'll learn and forget based on how much practice they're able to get. Thankfully both are old enough that more shoes have laces now and it seems to have stuck.

I didn't figure out how to tie a bow until first grade either, though. I just couldn't wrap my brain around the method I was taught, and eventually I was fidgeting with the belt on my dress and figured out if I just tied the loops in a knot it would make a bow without all the rabbit nonsense. I don't think I figured out the single loop method until high school and I still do it my way šŸ˜‚

Same! I couldn’t figure out all the ā€œrabbit goes into the holeā€ stuff so I just found a different method that worked for me.

I do the bunny ears method. Don’t care if it’s not ā€œadultā€. I’m not coordinated and I never will be.
