Except diabetes alert dogs tend to be 15-30 minutes faster in alerting to blood sugar changes than CGMs, and diabetic service dog patients use both the dog and CGM to cross-reference each other and a finger prick test.

Edit: Fixed a typo.

And the dog can also bring juice or a med case to their owner if they’re unable to do it themselves.

Yes, but that could be accomplished by just getting a puppy lol.

By enslaving an animal and forcing it to work 24/7? Service animals shouldn’t be allowed if there are alternatives, ESPECIALLY if the alternatives are better, such as a CGM,(which this girl already has).

service dog owner chiming in to say I dont make my dog do anything. If he doesnt feel up to working he doesn't. service dogs are another tool for the toolbox and not something to be relied on.. I have thoughts on kids having service dogs but there isnt anything wrong with having a service dog as long as its not the only option and this dog clearly isn't and just another tool to manage.

It is selfish to enslave an animal when alternatives exist.

Enslavement? What is your reasoning for think that? Police dogs too? Humans have jobs often against what we want but its a part of life. You'll never live in a perfect world. I feel sorry for you.
