You replace the previous HR person, and then you are stuck till someone else parks wrong and replaces you, continuing tge cycle

Couple years ago, I was put on suspension at work while HR investigated a very serious but entirely untrue accusation against me. I came back after 8 days out.

I recently made a joke to my team that it was a good thing they didn't fire me, because ancient job rules demand that I would have to give my amulet to my successor. No, I continued, you may not see the amulet.

As you can imagine, this has generated some interest in said amulet, and now instead of one little shit gunning for my job, I have a bunch of them

Firing an HR person is like trying to throw away an old garbage can, some comedian made the analogy, struck me as amusing.
