Incoming War Devil is the final boss, powered by America's Military Complex

Is it just me, or is that a little too much on the nose?

subtext is never enough because people will always willingly cover their eyes and ears and go "nuh uh it's not that deep". even though the literal embodiment of war is gushing over how much she loves america

if anything fujimoto should be even more blatant and have chainsaw man just eat the entire usa, I'd love to see the meltdown over that

subtext is never enough

What next you're gonna tell me that animal farm isn't just a cute little story about talking farm animals. Pffff yeah right /s

You jest but the overlooming spectre of American geopolitics can be an existential dread.

I have a feeling Denji is going to become the America Devil to defeat Yoru, but I'm not sure on how he is going to do that.

Yeah... the implication is that the US is a force for terror beyond even a primal devil goes a bit far.

In 2021, a bit over 44,000 people died from injuries caused by falling. If we take that a benchmark for an average year, then it’d take 6.8 years for Falling to match the most conservative estimate for the deaths that occurred in the Bangladesh Genocide (directly funded and supported by the Nixon administration). At the upper estimates, it’d take over 68 years to match the death count.

And America has done a lot more in the world than just fund genocide in Bangladesh.

falling mentioned war is a human concept/fear while most animals/insects fear falling, who knows if human fear gives devils more power, but it makes sense for the primals to be op if they are powered by animal instinct

Falling devil represents the fear of heights, probably one of the most common and instinctual fears. Isn't about numbers or deadliness its about how much people are afraid of it.

At some point we could run into the public speaking devil. By far the least deadly but would theoretically be the most powerful

It doesn’t have to be — more people are afraid of airplane crashes than smoking cigarettes, and the latter kills a hell lot of more people.

That's not what's being said at all, War itself is the force, the US military-industrial complex is just helping to fuel and exacerbate it. Which is not exactly inaccurate to real life, though America is hardly the only imperialist power to blame.

It is by far the largest exporter of global terror and war.

I said number 1 exporter. Didn't say only. Your whole comment is meaningless.

You did claim number one exporter of terror as well, which I interpreted to mean terror-ism as that's how the term is typically used. That would be a rather more aggressive claim than just conventional warfare. If I misinterpreted you I apologize.

You know what, I was kind of responding to you with half-attention between several other tasks, and upon closer inspection you're totally right. My bad.

Terrorism as well. Our funding of Israeli war crimes in the Middle East like the the ongoing genocide of Gaza and our cosigning of the Lebanon beeper terror attacks means America pumps out terrorism globally. Beyond the funding and nurturing of literal terrorists so long as it aligns with American foreign interests. We have had no morality in our actions since World War II. There is little difference between "conventional warfare" and "terrorism." For most Americans, terrorism just means whenever brown people do it. Look at the Contras. Look at Saddam Hussein.

u/Tan11 Jul 30 '25

See my edit: I don't exactly disagree, just writing faster than I'm properly considering a bit this evening. Except that I do think the difference between conventional warfare and terrorism is quite simple: it's in whether or not civilians are deliberately and indiscriminately targeted, which they of course were in the cases you bring up.

1

u/YungVicenteFernandez Jul 30 '25

Those are just a handful of cases. Our operations during every war has intentionally targeted civilians. The A Bomb targeted civilians. The My Lai massacre. During the Gulf War, we leveled civilian centers and destroyed infrastructure to starve and despair the populace. Same during Iraq and Afghanistan. We commit so many war crimes, we passed legislation to invade The Hague if they ever tried to arrest an American for war crimes. Obama's drone strikes massacred countless civilians.

Have you asked the people living in the countless countries the US has bombed how they feel about it?
