These days you have to be as subtle as a brick to make sure people understand your meaning.

I feel it's malicious ignorance these days. When you support the most overtly evil parts of a country and every piece of media is showing the truth of the matter every step of the way, they will always turn their heads to the ground

That's the problem, artists are pressured to make their works as unsubtle as you can possibly make them but not only will some people find their own meaning in a work that is not the True Meaning of the Author (and in fact they should be encouraged to do so!) but some other people, including a handful in this very thread, will see this unsubtle meaning, process it and say it's not that. Like they won't even argue against it, they'll simply say it can't be that based on pure feel over facts.

Also because they don't understand it, they'll say it's boring instead.

It's been revealing. There's no sense of humanity. Some people really don't think of other people with different color/culture/ethnicity as humans really.

And they still dont. Look at Homelander. Or Punisher. Or Star Trek. Or Star Wars. Or pretty much any piece of media being flocked by right wings despite its core message being against them.

Even the latest chapter before this, people was debating whether USA reinvent the nuke or not 🤦‍♂️. It is very obvious what was happened.
