You know that feeling when you read a 10ish chapters manga that was axed and the author does their best to “attempt” to give everyone a happy ending in the last 2 chapters?

This is legitimately the same thing. Except that it’s 232 chapters.

Words can’t describe how sad I am right now. This feels somehow even worse than if he wrote a dumpster fire ending. It’s just so half assed man.

Anyways, it’s been quite a journey following this manga from the start. Can’t say the last stretch was an enjoyable experience but I’m kinda glad I saw it through.

Man I’m way too attached to this for my own good lol. Thought this one would turn out great but alas I got burned one more time by a manga’s ending.

Haha, you're completely right, it really does feel exactly like that. Like all of pt2 got axed and heres the rushed "The story continues!" Ending.

First time? Psyren and Claymore were given a couple chapters to end it, but still dropped a lot of plot threads.

Claymores ending was so solid I didn't even know it was axed lol.

It ended the same kind of thing as if Hunter x Hunter if thye revealed the dark continent and then ended.

Like they expanded the scope of the world and then we're left in a state of hopefully those pulling the strings don't come back.

I mean... Claymore expanded the world by the end but the story of the MC was mostly done, sure it would be satisfying if they did explore more but it's like Gon, their journey ended and now the world goes on

I just finished Psyren. That ending clears this one. Easily.

I agree, but there was definitely a lot more that could have been done and explored.

Yeah. But aside from the axe (or incoming one) it kind of polished a turd into lightning (my opinion). I feel like Psyren was underrated but once the anime got announced for an old series, I read it (with some breaks). Wow* is one of the things I would put for a review, not amazing, but damn was it a spectacle in time nonsense and "fixing" future stuff.

If you guys got Psyren hate, I am all for the heat, if it is for the facts.

After he stuck the landing of part 1 I had so much faith in him. Even with the odd way he had been dropping plot threads recently I was still assuming that he'd eventually pull things together. If you told me two months ago it would end like this I wouldn't have believed you.

What on Earth made him crash out and decide to end it this way?

What’s funny is he said that he planned for part 2 around Reze arc. Idk what the plan was but apparently there wasn’t any in the second half of part 2.

Can’t say for sure but if the recent chapters are not the clearest sign of burnout then idk what is. Which is a shame cause if someone told me this is how CSM ends I’d laugh at them. At least now I know that Fujimoto is better suited for short stories.

Looking forward to his next one.

the crash out got me worried it’s more ‘medical emergency’ than burn out (I hop not for his sake), but why else would someone destroy their legacy instead of a hiatus?
