Photo Question 9 cont…

Post image

Question 9 is a veto referendum on the 2024 gun law (Chapter 135): a NO vote repeals it. But here is what does not change either way — Massachusetts still requires a license to own or carry, and safety training to get one. Repeal the law and the pre-2024 rules remain, among the strictest in the country: licenses required, safety training required, sales tracked, red-flag petitions in place.

The 2024 law adds burdens on lawful owners — serialization requirements, expanded bans, a real-time registry — without creating the training standard. Training was required before this law, and it stays required whether the law is repealed or not.

VOTE NO, a yes vote means that you’re okay with police officers being exempt from the law

Completely agree this is a MAJOR flaw in the law. But let’s be honest - There will never be a gun safety bill passed that doesn’t exempt law enforcement. Law enforcement will only ever back a gun safety bill if their off-duty officers are exempt. We have to ask ourselves, is an imperfect bill better than no bill?

Voting No doesn't remove all the gun laws. It removes the 2024 additions, which are largely insane and do nothing to make the state safer

Love how you leave the rest out!

Love how you’re voting yes because of one of the laws clauses.

That is not what a yes vote means.

Current and retired LEO are exempt from this

They know. It's typical conservative misinformation.

Why would conservatives care about LEO’s being exempt? Aren’t they thin blue line nuts?
