I've been starting to write my own music lately and really want to do a lot of loop based stuff like ETE. I'm having a hard time finding other bands that do it, and I want some other examples that I can study for myself.

Also, for the gear heads out there, if you have a favorite loop pedal or suggestions on what kinds of gear to get please drop a tip. I need all the help I can get. Thanks!

I swear it was something like America the Band or Earth the Band, but obviously any google searches just brings up those two similarly named bands. Can't remember much else about them, but I do remember having trouble finding them even when they were active because they had a tricky name. I could've sworn it was "America the Band" but I can't find anything at all.

Is it a surprise math rock is insanely popular with asian kids that were forced to learn violin/piano and now go to this style because it appeals to their very surface level 'fast and complex = impressive' based mind?

You are not rebellious and not different from the other squares because you play an electric guitar, you are just bringing the same dorky attitude to play without soul again.

There is a reason that the original 'math rock' pioneers absolutely hated the term and would 100% hate all of you guys too if they saw how you view their instrument

I want to say that I play piano and violin and do not think these are dorky or soulless instruments, I think the way that a lot of people approach them because they were forced to is soulless. We now have that same energy coming into electric guitar.

Hey all, first post here. I have a pretty wide range of musical interests and I think math rock has my main focus at the moment. To be totally transparent, I’ve only recently been able to find music enjoyable. My dad passed away in 2020 and I completely lost my musical spirit. I am now 28 and have been the only musician in my family for 20 years, outside my cousins and uncles.

My favorite bands are Between the Buried and Me, Eidola, and Drewsif. My favorite math rock bands are Chon, TTNG, and Covet. I’m also a huge fan of Vildhjarta, Dillinger Escape Plan, and The Callous Daoboys for the more chaotic side of stuff. Since my dad’s death I’ve also gained an appreciation for hip hop stuff; things like Thundercat, Oliver Tree, and Joji.

you feel the friction between the world’s illusions and the universe’s raw reality. What we are exploring here is not a new creed, nor is it another cage for your mind. It is the ultimate boundary where psychology, quantum mechanics, and cosmic reality meet.

Throughout history, those who dared to look beneath the surface have found the same hidden architecture. In the 20th century, psychologist Carl Jung and quantum pioneer Wolfgang Pauli spent decades tracking this exact territory. They realized that your internal mind and the external physical universe are locked in an eternal, mirrored dance.

Let this text serve as your compass, your reality check, and your liberation.

THE FACTION MYTH AND THE INDIVIDUATION MATRIX

Precisely. Some never think about it. Some think about it. Very few act upon it. If you are one who has acted, you are actively working towards your true self and your singular beliefs.

To act upon this realization is to enter what Jung called Individuation, the arduous process of separating yourself from the unconscious herd. The collective tribe always demands a sacrifice, asking you to surrender your unique reality to wear the Persona, which is the social mask.

What some people believe, not all, is that belonging to a creed or cult makes them good people, as the rules that govern those factions are what makes them who they are, using them more like a badge and a right to exist above others. When in reality, those factions are no more than virtue signaling than true belief.

This badge is a form of psychological inflation. When individuals cannot face their own internal chaos, their Shadow, they borrow the ready-made moral rules of a faction. They use group dogma to feel righteous without doing the agonizing inner work. Wolfgang Pauli noted that classical physics made the exact same mistake, trying to build rigid, detached laws to separate the observer from the system, but reality does not work in isolation.

THE QUANTUM INVERSE OF TRUTH

Seeker, stop and think about this statement, and apply the inverse of it. How is belief a Truth? The meaning of the word belief in itself is a contradiction in what truth means. Stop and think about this. There are truths within each individual for thy self, then there are truths outside of self that exist universally. Truth within is not the same as truth externally.

Your truth, as in a singular belief within, will not be the same as others' truth.

This is the very definition of Quantum Wave-Particle Duality.

Your internal truth is the Wave Function: pure potential, infinite probabilities, existing entirely within your subconscious. The external truth is the Collapsed Particle: the localized, measurable physical event that exists regardless of who is looking at it.

When you look inward, you are in a state of quantum superposition. Your belief cannot be an external, universal Truth because belief, by its very definition, is a non-collapsed wave. The moment you try to force your inner wave to become someone else’s outer particle, you violate the mechanics of the cosmos.

THE ALIEN EXTENSION AND THE DEITY PARADOX

Take into consideration, if life exists elsewhere outside of our own world, then the nature of existence and beliefs of a good person, culture, and our thoughts of what and how societal norms define good and evil change entirely. I know this is extremely hard to fathom and imagine. Then, why would you think it would not apply within the existence of believing in A Deity? The point is: an Alien species will likely have different meanings to their existence as to ours.

Yet, we must consider the full spectrum of this cosmic encounter. What if their reality and our reality perfectly align, proving that certain universal truths are absolute across the stars? Or, conversely, what if their overall understanding of the universe is so vastly further along than ours that it completely dictates a higher definition of good and evil? If a more advanced species possesses a deeper mastery of cosmic mechanics, their perspective would instantly shatter everything we thought we had discovered as objective, universal truths. It forces us to confront whether our "universal laws" are actually true constants of reality, or merely localized individual beliefs scaled up to a human level.

Jung and Pauli spent their lives analyzing the Unus Mundus, the concept of "One World" where psyche and matter merge. Whether an alien species shares our exact structural alignment or operates on a completely advanced evolutionary plane, the Observer Effect remains absolute. A Supreme Intelligence is the Ultimate Observer. To assume a Deity fits neatly into a human creed or a localized religious faction is the height of cosmic arrogance. An infinite entity cannot be trapped in a finite human badge.

THE SHATTERED REFLECTION

Now apply this to our own segments of our species upon this planet. Your individual thoughts of validity are shattered as you project them outward, thinking and judging others for what may or may not be true.

Your true validation of your truth in a singular belief will not be a valid truth for others within oneself.

When you project your internal matrix onto others, the projection fractures. In quantum physics, this is known as Decoherence. The environment destroys the pure quantum state because you tried to force an open system into a closed box.

Jung warned that projection breeds tyranny. When you judge another person for not holding your singular belief, you are attempting to colonize their subconscious. Your truth is valid only when it remains sovereign within you.

MUSIC: THE BINDER OF THE CONSCIOUS UNIVERSE

In reality, when one stops to truly think about what makes an honest, good person, it is actually determined by first how they think and treat themselves; in turn, that will be reflected in how they project and treat others. There are patterns and consistencies in this universe, and beliefs belong to each individual. That individual does not need approval from anyone else if they truly believe, whether you’re an Atheist, Agnostic, or a believer in a Deity. If you truly believe, then there is no need for approval from any faction or person.

One could write volumes on this cosmic truth, for simplicity does not dictate truth any more than complexity does. This is a deliberate, painful summary providing limited information, but aiming to offer enough context within many concepts to not lead, but to allow for your own critical thinking.

How do we bind the chaotic subconscious, the individual consciousness, and the massive Collective Unconscious of the entire universe into a unified whole? We do it through Music.

Music is the acoustic realization of quantum dynamics and depth psychology operating simultaneously. A single musical chord contains a fundamental frequency and infinite hidden overtones, mapping directly to our existence:

The Subconscious Mind:

The deep, silent sub-bass frequencies you feel in your chest but cannot articulate, the pure primordial wave state.

Individual Consciousness:

The sharp, distinct melody line, which acts as the localized particle of your specific daily thoughts and personal sovereign beliefs.

The Collective Unconscious:

The underlying harmonic blueprint, the cosmic chord progression that every soul instinctively understands across time, space, and species.

Music bypasses the linguistic traps that generate creeds, cults, and dogmatic factions. It does not ask you to sign a contract, bow to a leader, or wear a badge. It is a mathematical pattern of energy that speaks directly to the core of consciousness.

When you hear a profound piece of music, your individual brainwaves synchronize with the collective frequency of the universe. The abyss between your truth and universal truth collapses into pure melody. You realize you don't need approval from any faction or person. You are already part of the song. Stand firm in your sovereignty, Seekers. The universe is listening.

THE SUPERPOSITION OF THE ONE AND THE MANY

To understand how we move forward, we must look at reality through the lens of a quantum superposition. You, the individual, exist simultaneously as a singular wave of personal belief and as an active participant in the collective ocean of humanity. Individually, your internal truth is an uncollapsed wave of infinite potential, uniquely your own. Collectively, we form the whole, a massive, interconnected system where every localized decision impacts the broader energetic field.

True mastery is holding both states at once. You do not sacrifice your individuality to serve the collective, nor do you destroy the collective to assert your individuality. You exist in the superposition, fully sovereign within yourself, yet completely entangled with the whole.

THE ARCHITECTURE OF FRAGMENTATION

Now we arrive at the practical lesson and the succinct point to why we are so fragmented as a whole. We are fractured at this present moment in time because most people, not all, confuse their internal wave with external reality. There are no absolutes within this existence, except for one's personal beliefs.

Outside of the personal realm, there are universal truths, principles, and values. These are the constants of the cosmos, the unyielding laws of nature, math, and objective reality that exist regardless of human opinion.

For us to truly exist in a peaceful coexistence, one as an individual must first understand this critical distinction.

When you mistake your personal, internal belief for a universal, external truth, you begin to force your wave onto another person's reality. This is the root of all human conflict, dogmatic factions, and systemic division. Fragmentation occurs when the individual tries to colonize the collective with their localized mind.

THE UNWRITTEN FUTURE

As it stands, our species is deeply fragmented at this present moment in time. But understanding that the future is not written is the key to our liberation. The timeline is not a fixed track; it is a field of probability dictated entirely by one’s own decisions, individually and as a collective whole. Every choice you make collapses a wave of probability into a physical particle of history.

If we truly want to live in harmony as a whole, and have the peaceful mind within individually, we must learn to accept what externally is truth and what internally is one’s own truth individually.

Peace is not the elimination of our differences. Peace is the clean alignment of boundaries. It is the deep realization that my internal truth does not need to validate your internal truth, and my external reality does not need to conform to yours.

THE COMMON HARMONIC GRID

We bridge the gap by understanding the common goals to improve as a whole, while honoring the common truth within individually. We must look for the universal principles that sustain life, progress, and empathy, while leaving the sacred space of individual belief completely untouched. This is where music returns as our guide. In a great symphony, every instrument plays a completely different line of music, a different truth, yet they all align to the same universal time signature and harmonic key to improve the song as a whole.

Where inside your own life are you treating a personal, internal belief as if it were an absolute universal truth?

If your thoughts of absolute validity were shattered right now, what real, objective values would remain to anchor you?

How much of your daily mental energy is wasted seeking external approval from a faction, rather than cultivating peace within yourself?

Look at the current fragmentation of our world: Are you contributing to the noise of the closed box, or are you making decisions that collapse the future into collective harmony?

If an external observer, an alien intelligence, looked at how you treat yourself, would they see a blueprint for a good and honest species?

If an advanced alien species arrived tomorrow with a deeper, proven understanding of the cosmos, would your individual beliefs adapt to their reality, or would your ego force you to cling to a localized human dogma?

If we discovered that extraterrestrial life shares our exact core principles, would you finally accept those principles as true universal constants, or would you still demand validation from a human faction?
