Right? We won for a reason, and it's because we gave a rats ass, and not just after they won.
But there's also hundreds of millions of us. A small percentage of us is more than the entire populations of many of the countries competing in the WC. To assert that we don't care because we weren't all uniformly losing our shit is pretty typical ignorance (on matters regarding America) of those abroad.
EDIT: All that said, I will acknowledge we can and should do better too, I sure as shit aint saying we're perfect lol.
The second biggest sport in the world after soccer? In excess of a literal billion fans? Bigger than basketball, baseball and grid iron? That’s the sport nobody cares about?
Yeah this kind of insufferable attitude is why the OP wants the seppos to lose
60-70% of global cricket players are Indian. Total players doesn’t matter much when the vast majority are all crammed into one country and have 3rd world spending power
‘They’re poor so they don’t matter’? Oof, maybe reflect on that one champion.
Over a billion people do in fact ‘care about cricket’, and they come from at least 12 countries, not counting the smaller ones that don’t often qualify for the World Cup. Just slightly more people and countries represented than a certain “World Series”.
