1

u/Square-Singer 5h ago

I mean, you got nasty about someone else's specialty food first.

1

u/Stereo-soundS 5h ago

I never realized Germans were so sensitive. "Nasty"?

Maybe you are as well.

1

u/Square-Singer 5h ago

Yeah, don't worry, we all know americans are insensitive.

1

u/Stereo-soundS 5h ago

I don't think you understand what the word nasty means in English. At no point was I being mean.

Lost in translation I suppose.

1

u/Square-Singer 5h ago

No, I do know what "nasty" means, and I do know that you have no sense of tactfulness or decent behavoir. As I said, American.

It’s fucking delicious is what it is. Would never trust it outside Germany however.

u/Cigarrauuul 6h ago

There is chicken sashimi in Japan….

1

u/ripyurballsoff 5h ago edited 51m ago

How does that work? You can’t really chew through raw chicken?

1

u/Golfbollen 5h ago

I think they boil it so theres a cooked outer layer, and they claim the inside is safe from bacteria, I don't know if that's true.

1

u/ripyurballsoff 51m ago

I hope it’s true lol.

3

u/AnonD38 5h ago

It's perfectly safe due to heavy government regulations for food safety.

1

u/FlounderStrict2692 5h ago

It's perfect. Stop there, since every word more is obsolete.

1

u/ConsiderationNext144 1h ago

There are 19 countries including the US that rank higher than Germany in food safety.

1

u/AnonD38 1h ago

Lmao, did RFK jr's brainworm tell you that?

1

u/ConsiderationNext144 1h ago

Easily searchable information. Global food security index has a nice chart you can reference if you’d like.

1

u/AnonD38 1h ago

Yeah yeah, whatever you say mr. diarrhea parasite salads.

1

u/ConsiderationNext144 1h ago

I’m not american but good on you for showing off that classic eurotrash fragility.

1

u/AnonD38 41m ago

I'm sure your country has problems with diarrhea parasites in your food too! :)

2

u/Appropriate_Wheel817 5h ago

... raw pork with onions, pepper and salt on a bread roll really tastes the best.

3

u/PeterPanski85 6h ago

That's not a problem here

1

u/xDannyS_ 5h ago

For mett it isn't cause it is specifically regulated rather than put under a broad umbrella

1

u/thelightinthefridge 6h ago

we also mix it with raw egg (only the yellow part) if that makes it better :)

1

u/cursedstillframe 3h ago

Egg yolk ist was du meinst :)

1

u/Lilstiick 6h ago

You dont like pork?

1

u/Malabingo 5h ago

I mean, other people eat raw fish

1

u/SunlitNight 4h ago

I mean beef is probably one of the safest raw meats to eat but still. Maybe more if just 1 cow

1

u/OkPosition4563 3h ago

We also eat pretty much all other meats raw. Except chicken, that just isnt tasty raw.

1

u/Mission-Suspect7913 3h ago

What’s wrong with it?
It’s completely fine if prepared correctly and all raw foods are dangerous if not.

1

u/OneInternational3383 3h ago

Chicken could be worse...

1

u/DarkDestiny51104 2h ago

Theres beef mett too wich i personally prefer but both is good taste wise

1

u/BeBaro81 1h ago

Beef Mett isnt a thing, I think you mean Tartar

1

u/NetStaIker 2h ago

Pork really isn’t that dangerous anymore, medium cooked pork is an actual option nowadays. even cooked pork is only recommended to 145/63 from 165/74

1

u/ApprehensiveTough148 1h ago

It's fine to eat because we have very good food regulations

1

u/Guardian_of_theBlind 5h ago

It's heavily regulated. mett in germany is way safer than the cooked and highly processed antibiotics slop you call meat in the us

1

u/ripyurballsoff 5h ago

You do understand a giant portion of American grocery stores are dedicated to raw, unprocessed meat right? Your comment makes you look ignorant. Yes we also have pre packaged DELI meat that’s highly processed that a lot of people buy. But it’s not our only option. I’ve been to European grocery stores and you guys have just as much processed crap on the shelves as we do. So get off your high horse.

2

u/Valeryne40K 4h ago

It's not about processing. It's about laws and regulation.

For starters, every slaughtered pig is in Germany being controlled by a vet and it's organs lab tested for parasites (Fleischbeschau). The vets are being employed by your local veterinary office to avoid conflict of interests.

Trichinella parasite infections are reportable by law. Statistics say, there is one infected pig in 100 million pigs. Every piece of meat is tracked, so if there is one infection basically the whole heard isn being culled and the farm is being mega-disinfected, like torched. There are around five human infections per year for a population of over 80 milion. Most of those infections are people consuming wild boars / people handling wild animals like vets, zookeepers.

At this point, the probability of being struck by a lightning is higher, or winning the lottery.

And as of now, you guys are dismantilng your food and safety standards even more, when I read about some random outbreaks in the US caused by raw veggies and what not. Yes, we also had our veggie-case (EHEC), but that was 15 years ago.

1

u/ripyurballsoff 54m ago

I understand what you’re saying and I agree. Our current administration is dismantling our already weak Food And Drug Administration and I hate it. There’ve been so many food related outbreaks since this administration took over and it’s disgusting. I’m envious of a lot of European countries that have implemented systems that actually look out for their people and aren’t dead set on doing whatever it takes to maximize profit. And there are lots of Americans that feel the same way. We aren’t just sitting here happily eating slop, feeling like shit, and being proud of it. Every day our ā€œrepresentative democracyā€ feels less and less representative.

1

u/Guardian_of_theBlind 2h ago

you jumped to one point and ignored my other point. the meat you get in europe is pure meat and not pumped with antibiotics. Even the regulations about animal feed are way harsher in europe. you love to eat shit in the us and you don't even know, that you eat shit.

1

u/ConsiderationNext144 1h ago

US ranks 17 places higher than Germany in food quality and safety.

1

u/ripyurballsoff 1h ago

Still brimming with ignorance I see. There’s tons of meat products in the US that aren’t pumped with antibiotics. You just have to stay away from ultra processed crap and that’s your choice and you have to self educate. We have less regulations across the board yes. And that’s not really by choice. Politicians and the powers that be do what they do and we have to do the best we can to deal with it. There are organizations trying to change that.

And just so you know, businesses in Europe skirt regulations by calling chemicals and additives different things so you guys are still eating junk too. It just takes a while for legislation to catch up and ban those things too. ALL shelf stable food has been modified or prepared in a way that’s unnatural and can mess with your body.
