The only people who eat it are the ones who weren’t paying attention in school. Statistics may be in your favor but the risk remains.

It's amazing what conscientious enforcement of appropriate safety regulations can accomplish.

I can't even leave my eggs out on the counter. Sigh

Well don't you like to speak about topics you don't know that much about. Due to the regulations on the production, sale etc. It is one of the safest foods in circulation. Never had I or anyone I know ever had a problem due to Mett as opposed to a lot of other foods (seafood, döner, salad etc.)

Fun fact: if the bread rolls are still warm, they will refuse to sel it to you. You can only buy the Mett and roll separately then.

Show me this statistics. Trichinella infections are not higher than in countries where people dont eat raw pork.

I’ve been eating Mett my whole life. Not all the time but regularly. I’ve never ever had a poisoning, nor I know one myself or ever had heard of someone who’ve had that. Of course it can happen, like everything that’s Murphy’s law. But I think there are several dishes that contain raw meat/fish and are less harmful than a lot of the processed food that we have around us, at least in terms of a broader view

Are parasites not a concern?

1

u/FraggDieb 4h ago

Nope Mett is one of the most regulated meat. Eating it since 30 years and NEVER had anything

The production is highly regulated and monitored because we are well aware of the risks. It's sold the day it's produced and every time you get told to eat it on the same day

If you take the risk and don't eat it the same day - well, that's on you

The pigs are specifically monitored for that after butchering.

1

u/Gonralas 1h ago

Every pig has to be checked for parasites after the slaughter by an Independent vetinarian (He can not be employed by the slaughterhouse).

It's similar to Sushi or Sashimi in that concern. The meat it so highly regulated that you really don't have to fear anything.

Theoretically yes but that's why there are very strict regulations.
It's essentially the same as with (raw fish) sushi, which can also end badly if not done correctly, but with the right guidelines in place, you don't have to worry.

The production of Mett (raw pork) is highly regulated and monitored in Germany.

The chance is 1 per 1 million per year to get food poisoning from Mett. In other words: It's more likely to get shot in a US school (1,1-1,8 per 1 million per year)

And the number 1 per 1 million includes idiots not eating the Mett on the same day. (It's highly recommended to keep the risk down and you get told every time you buy it)

Tell me you are American, without telling me you are American.

Please look up the statistics wrt Mett in Germany.

Which risk? We've the highest food safety standards and the most rigorous food inspection system in the world. Companies like Nestlé, Danone, and Mondelez hate us for it.

Germany ranks 20th internationally in food quality and safety according to independent studies. Why lie?

1

u/M4DHouse 57m ago

Sincere question, could you link the studies you’re citing?

1

u/ConsiderationNext144 52m ago

Most commonly cited one is referenced here with more sources to contributors of the study in the references https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Food_Security_Index

I imagine they are talking about pork specifically, but even in that case I wouldnt bet on us having the "cleanest" pork. Among the cleanest? Probably. But probably also not the cleanest.

1

u/ConsiderationNext144 43m ago

No doubt due to its high consumption of pork product theres more focus there but it’s doubtful the same attention to detail provided in all food production industries.

So i should also never leave the bed? Because i could die?

1

u/house343 4h ago

You're comparing never leaving a bed with never eating this one uncooked raw pork sandwich? How is life as a complete moron?

1

u/tpat90 3h ago

This food way more strict regulated than meat in the US ... Please never eat a hamburger or any other kind of meat again.

0

u/The_TRASHCAN_366 4h ago

So we shouldn't eat sushi or tartare either? 🤷

0

u/DTD1137 4h ago

maybe some people just fucking live a little bit and don’t mind a tiny bit of risk for enjoyment

0

u/BalterBlack 4h ago

Not really.
