So they're going to harass their son's friends for the rest of their lives. Awesome. I'm sure that's a healthy mindset.

u/Ok-Volume-34500 23d ago
They won't have to. They'll just keep putting out misinformation and half-truths and their minions will do it for them.

Respectfully if no one was telling you how your son died, wouldn’t you? You may not agree with them but they LOST their son.
9
u/BigDaddyDumperSquad 23d ago
It's not that no one told them, it's that they'll never believe anybody who says differently than their preconceived notions.

u/Maleficent-Yak-3600 22d ago
That part. It's like they need it. 898k reasons to continue Nelly says must be the money

u/Just_House_2070 23d ago
I think it’s valid for the boys explanation to be questioned when there were so many holes. Why did they have his phone? Why did they leave their friend with someone that didn’t come with them? Again, why didn’t they tell his parents he was missing? It’s okay if you don’t believe they hurt Nolan, but to deny something is missing from the story would be kind of delusional. His parents deserve to know all of what happened, not a story that conveniently absolves the surviving friends of guilt.

1 were the messages being felted from his phone by them or by Snapchat normal 24h policy.
Were the deleted messages sent from him or his friends. Because so far it seems to imply it was his friends messages in a big group chat.
Also btw the deleted messages have since been recovered. There was nothing. ( Snapchat has them all).

The truth is he drank too much and drowned. Some tragedies leave no one to blame and that’s very hard to accept. I wish them peace.
6
u/Sea_Mechanic9749 25d ago
Drowning deaths in particular are really hard for people to accept. Maybe because a lack of education about them- drownings happen much faster and more quietly than most people would expect, and anyone can drown in the wrong conditions, including good/experienced swimmers.
Also I remember when people on TikTok were going on about the “Smiley Face” serial killer in Chicago, because they couldn’t look at statistics and understand that in a city of millions, a handful of drunk and suicidal people each year will end up in the river or giant lake that they all live next to.
4
u/blaqsupaman 25d ago
I think this is a common thing with grief, misplaced anger at least. When there's something so tragic like this it's natural to be angry that it happened, but in this case there's no evidence to believe it was anyone's "fault" necessarily, just a very tragic accident of a teenager doing things teenagers have done since basically the beginning of time. It sounded like he really was a good kid and I hope his family and his friends are all able to find peace. I feel horrible for his family going through this and his friends having all these accusations going on while they too were grieving their friend dying. It's just an awful thing that happened that's stirred up so much anger and blame in people but there really isn't anyone deserving of that blame. Yes, Mississippi has an awful history with racism and a lot of issues with it currently and there is a lot of injustice done to black families in this state even still today, but in this particular case pretty much all evidence points to "teenager + alcohol + drowning."
1
u/duhlikeitshard 23d ago
The truth is he was a black boy in America who never stood a chance because he was black in a racist town.
1
u/Accidental_dwnvote 21d ago
It’s an innate human nature to apply blame to others or ourselves for things we have difficulty coping with. There is no reason to believe that wells was murdered.

u/SlapNuts42 26d ago
Source please. I’ve looked literally everywhere and haven’t seen a released toxicology report
6
u/SweetLittleOldLady Current Resident 25d ago
It would be up to the family to release it and they have chosen to withhold it. That said, I don't think blood alcohol level is accurate once the body has started to decompose. That is briefly mentioned in the reports that were released.
2
u/SlapNuts42 25d ago
I noticed the “too decomposed” evidence as well. That’s why I feel it’s a shame for people to dispel the idea of him drinking despite him using a fake ID to purchase alcohol the same day he went to that party on the island with his buddies. Wish he’d left originally or just stopped drinking. A young man lost too soon
19
u/Beneficial-Guess2140 26d ago
They said he didn’t have cocaine in his system, not that he hadn’t been drinking. They actually specified he’d purchased his own alcohol with a fake ID…

u/Main-Bluejay5571 25d ago
Clean for cocaine, not alcohol. The GJ report didn't release the bac on the grounds that it increases naturally after death.
1
u/Accidental_dwnvote 21d ago
This is not true at all. The autopsy report released by the family showed alcohol and cannabis in decompositional fluids as presumptive positive. His ethanol concentration was 270 mg/dL (3.5x the legal limit for DUI). However, please note that due the severely decomposed state of the body, they were unable to test certified fluids like blood to get a more accurate results.
This information combined with witness statements, it is not a contested fact that Wells was under the influence of alcohol.

I think it's fair to be mad at a lot of people in this situation. "Leaders" like Sharpton and Crump for exploiting this family and their community. Content creators and social media posters from Ms. Rachel all the way down to small local ones for buying into and amplifying these unsubstantiated recommendations.
I can't bring myself to be mad at this family. They experienced one of the worse things imaginable to happen to a person, and the first hand that reached out was these grifters with an agenda. I can't imagine what it must be like to go through that, to be seeking any kind of answer only to have someone tell you that the answer you want is that your beloved son did nothing wrong. That there's someone to blame, someone you can hate, somewhere you can direct this anger and misery.
I hope that some day they come to find peace, to realize that their son dying in a tragic accident is in fact preferable to him being murdered by someone he thought was a friend. And I hope that when that day comes, they have the courage to speak out to their community about how these people exploited their pain at their weakest moment.

The nolan family made 5x more and they were the wrong ones. Also nolan's parents refused to cooperate with investigators by not handing over nolan's phone which contained cruicial evidence which led to this 'no cime occured' verdict
3
u/SweetLittleOldLady Current Resident 25d ago
What crucial evidence do you think is on the phone? Because with or without the phone, I don't think there's any evidence a crime was committed or that anyone was responsible for causing Nolan's death.
4
u/NEpatsfan64 25d ago
Yeah I firmly believe there was no foul play, but the phone was a red herring. There was no crucial evidence, because there was no evidence at all. He left his phone on the boat and didn't use it all day. That's it.
The only thing the phone could've shown is that there were or weren't text messages deleted. But that's irrelevant because the likelihood of that was so low if you looked at all the other evidence in this case
0
u/InternationalJob9135 26d ago
Why didn’t they get a warrant to seize the phone then? I bet they have on other less sensitive cases. Just asking not baiting. If they went to the grand jury with a case they had enough PC to get the phone….
8
u/TastyJournalist8451 26d ago
because there was no evidence of a crime being committed so the DA could not obtain a criminal warrant.
2
u/InternationalJob9135 25d ago
Right so there was no crime to start with… to was an unfortunate accident. They went to the GJ hot a no bill so it’s over. It’s easier to go to grand jury with weak evidence then a pc hearing so this shows there was nothing to work with anyway. Just went to forward due to the pontification of crump and co.
2
u/orcmasterrace 25d ago
They had to go to the Grand jury because state law in Mississippi requires any unusual death to go before a grand jury. This would have happened whether Crump and team made noise or not.
7
u/jimmyshampoo 26d ago
creating one for their dead friends funeral costs right?
Why would they when Tyler Perry paid for it?
13
u/Soggy_Seaworthiness6 26d ago
They had no choice. I mean look at yall.
7
u/SeanceGoneWrong 26d ago
The friends are also going to be sued by Wells' family. They sent notice of intent of litigation the same day his funeral was.
14
u/Soggy_Seaworthiness6 26d ago
It’s so sad to watch man. Trying to argue with people on instagram is insane. They keep citing “lynchings” in MS but can’t name one and keep saying they will get street justice for Nolan. I am encouraging them to look up the actual definition of lynching… what will happen when they realize…?
15
u/SatansScallion 26d ago
They’ll never relinquish that victim card. So many just hate white people and will do everything in their power to keep that worldview from collapsing.
1
u/Soggy_Seaworthiness6 26d ago edited 26d ago
I still think the ruling class created this (and at that level they don’t have a “right” or “left”.) just like many race wars of the past. This stuff mirrors a lot of anti-black narratives that were always used to divide working class black and white people centuries ago. Even some of the propaganda against these kids looks exactly like the stuff done against the Central Park Five back in the 90s (pushed by Trump at the time, and this probably is too).
Don’t fall for any of it. Many black folks see through this shit so give them a chance to have integrity.
0
u/VisibleBlackberry249 23d ago
Are you that naive to believe that there aren't anymore racist and evil white people who'd still kill black people if given the chance?
7
u/SweetLittleOldLady Current Resident 25d ago
The Wonsleys have absolutely no basis for a lawsuit against any of Nolan's friends. However, the friends might have a case against the Wonsleys, Crump and Sharpton.
2
u/SeanceGoneWrong 25d ago
Agreed, but the fact the notice of intent was sent means there is real litigation in play, and the Wonsley family have access to Ben Crump's network of attorneys, pro-bono.
All I can think of is maybe wrongful death suit, but that seems like a stretch given Nolan Wells was an adult and his friends were not legally responsible for his welfare, even if they went to a party together.
But either way, I don't blame anyone for crowdfunding money if parents with nearly a million dollars in GFM cash and a small army of lawyers is going to sue you.

Who has the phone?
18
u/BPRparadise 26d ago
The parent still have it. They never gave it up. It's included in the transcript of the DA's statement.
-9
u/Edendolly 26d ago
Actually the DA office wouldn’t review the phone with their analyst present and wanted to do it alone. For obvious reasons, the family didn’t want to just trust the racist Mississippi justice system with their analysis and they were right to.
14
u/BPRparadise 26d ago
That's BS. The DA made more than one attempt to review the phone together. The FACTS and the EVIDENCE are that the parents simply would not turn it over. Probably b/c it contains stuff that they don't want anyone to know. Why else would they keep it? If that were my kid (and I was *genuinely* desperate to find out what happened to him), that phone could not be opened up and examined fast enough.
1
u/NEpatsfan64 25d ago
yeah a teenage boy who has a fake ID to buy alcohol to party and talk to girls on a island all day probably has some unseemly group texts with his friends that would not make him look the best.
I'm not judging, we were all immature kids at some point, but it's not surprising Nolan's family didn't want all that stuff released. Kind of backed themselves into a corner making the phone such a big deal, though. I'm sure his parents didn't expect to see some of the stuff Nolan said on his phone
6
u/-purged 26d ago
You clearly don't know how phone forensic works. They take a copy of what's on the phone. Nothing on the phone is deleted or edited.
It would be dumb for justice system to try and lie about anything on Nolan phone.
Nolan family ended up paying a company do a forensic search on Nolan phone. Guess what, nothing was deleted on it. Only people that had access was Nolan family.
-1
u/Edendolly 26d ago
It’s not about them deleting anything. It’s them wanting to have their analyst there while the data was retrieved. What’s the issue with that? It’s not uncommon for things to go wrong in cases involving the cases of people of color. The percentage of black men who die inconclusively in this country is horrifically higher than any other race. If there was no issue with them both being there, then what’s the problem with them being there if no one has anything to hide?
6
u/Adventurous_Crow5908 26d ago
Then after Crump's digital forensics team had extracted the data, why did they not send a copy of the data and the full report of the findings to the DA like they agreed to do after cancelling the joint investigation?
4
u/-purged 26d ago
We know why Nolan mom did what she did publicly. It was to drum up donations.
The DA office said Nolan mom and whoever else she wanted could be there when they took a forensic copy of Nolan phone and looked over the data. Nolan mom never showed up and kept dodging doing it. Nolan mom ended up paying a company to do the forensic search. Her and Crump only shared what they wanted with investigators, after the grand jury convened.
forensic search proved Nolan mom and Crump were full of crap about stuff being deleted off Nolan phone. Only Nolan family had access to his phone and no evidence anything was deleted from it.
1
u/Fast_Instance2173 25d ago
The percentage of people with clear biases that make up statistics out of their asses online is horrifically higher than people with any critical thinking skills…

-1
u/Royal-Entertainer-86 24d ago
actually, as of today they are saying that stuff was confirmed to be deleted. stop spreading false information. whether or not you believe either story, it’s important that all evidence is factored into your opinion.
1
u/-purged 24d ago edited 24d ago
According to the DA nothing was deleted off Nolan phone. Why won't Nolan mom give investigators access to the phone to make a copy to do a forensic report themselves?
Garrett also said at the news conference Thursday that some snap messages had been deleted. He did not specify whether the senders deleted those messages on their own phones, but he made clear that he could not ascribe intent to those deletions. There was no evidence presented showing someone had unlocked Wells’ phone after it left the island and before the family took possession.
It helps if you READ what was said.
0
u/Royal-Entertainer-86 24d ago
it also helps if you read. the DA and authorities never had access to Nolan’ phone, so they gave zero authority to speak on the matter, nor can they provide accurate information regarding anything on his phone. clearly, you’re the one that lacks comprehension issues because i never made a claim regarding who deleted the message. i was just correcting the false information you’re spreading
0
u/Royal-Entertainer-86 24d ago
they were unable to turn over Nolan’s phone to authorities by the deadline presented to them because the extraction of his phone’s data was a 30 hour process, and removing the phone prior to completion would risk damaging it. then, they were waiting for the results of the extraction to ensure they had their own evidence. the issue is a mistrust with the justice department of mississippi, a feeling that is emphasized through year’s worth of questionable actions. clearly, you’re missing a lot of context which allows you to spread half truths on reddit like they’re halloween candy. when you research, look at sources from both sides, not just sources that feed you information to strengthen the narrative you already accept. i am pretty neutral on the situation, i just advocate for all evidence to be shared.
1
u/-purged 24d ago
Nolan mom and Crump fault for playing games with the phone for why grand jury didn't get to see it. Turns out Nolan phone was a big nothing burger.

4
u/blaqsupaman 25d ago
I'm a mental health therapist and I find that misplaced anger is common in grieving. It's natural to feel angry when a loved one is taken from you too soon due to a tragedy, but sometimes that gets aimed at people who don't deserve it when it's just a random freak accident that's not really anyone's "fault." Like you feel angry and just want someone to point the blame at. It's not right but it's common due to the strong emotions that come from grieving.

If someone drowns in a body of water and no one saw it happen, the family will never know exactly what happened. They aren't the only family that has had to deal with this.
5
u/SituationStraight912 25d ago
I was on my friends boat in middle of the night, we were all drunk and dancing, I lost my balance and grabbed the chair that faces towards the back of the ski boat (not realizing it would close) and I flipped on the back of the platform. I am SO lucky I didn’t roll off the back of the boat. If I did, there’s no way my friends would’ve realized until later and we were in the middle of the lake - I would’ve drowned.
This situation reminds me of that.
Accidents happen. Alcohol, boats, water are a dangerous combination.

I am not going to argue that microagressions aren't real, but the term should have never should left academic circles because it is way to nuanced of a concept. The way you are using it is more akin to mind reading, the dude stated that he meant the attourneys and you still classify it as a microagression...
3
u/Namaste41 25d ago
If there is no evidence of a murder or any obvious foul play, you can’t just target innocent people to want closure.
Most drownings are just sad drownings.
A hate rampage won’t bring him back. It’s a shame this is what it turned into.
Everything isn’t always racial.
I feel so sad for Nolan’s family and friends, but trying to pin blame on someone who isn’t guilty won’t fix this.
People drown in lakes all the time. Especially when drinking is involved. Deadly accidents happen all the time that don’t involve hate or murder.
4
u/Spilby 25d ago
It’s the Atlantic Ocean and alcohol. Never a good combination. The damage caused by Crump and his team however is already done. Hopefully, and I am not holding my breath because it’s lawmakers were talking about, this case will lead to legislation enacting better state and federal control of these situations.
If the Crump team really believed in what they were doing, they would be better off protesting in the streets of Chicago against that carnage.

The experts they hired gave testimony to the Grand Jury along with the State’s experts and and yet there’s somehow a conspiracy? It’s also unfortunate they failed to acknowledge that Nolan did not travel to the island with the “Three Boys” along with the fact that he was seen on the island well after they left. But yet, they’re somehow involved.

Indictments are usually easy, it's the prosecution/state presenting the case, there's no counter argument. Its so easy that a judge once said "you could indict a ham sandwich" but you need to have even the least bit of a case & they didn't have even that.
6

Their child died, would you not be emotionally invested in this? What is wrong with you? There are unanswered questions here, whether it is foul play or not. There is questions that any parent would want to know about their child. What is the problem with that? Why is everyone being so awful and heartless to this family? The friends made 300 grand from this, so if anyone is invested it’s them. The Wells family aren’t claiming it to be race motivated. They just want a proper investigation. Also how are his black parents being “racist”? In what world?

So, does anyone consider the audio playback (Emergency boat rescue tow call) with the callers channel muted and background audio audible credible?
Just asking, looking at the availabile data..

u/Holiday-Fix-9244 24d ago
It was not credible. That’s why you only saw it covered on TikTok, tmz, Nancy grace, and Willie D.

They killed him obviously plus they live in one of the most racist states in America anyone who says otherwise is delusional

u/Edendolly 24d ago
Yup. The autopsy was just full released. Interested to know how everyone in here feels about the findings. Hope they feel real dumb for trusting a racist ass justice department

Look at the Elisa Lam case, found inside a water tank at the Cecil hotel, also no water in lungs

It's a shame because it seems like Nolan was a great person and a great friend. He would probably be disgusted if he knew that people were using his death to push an agenda.

He'd be surprised his faux friends would take his life, victim strategy wont work in this instance....Justice for Nolan #brute creatures

👏👏👏👏the boys made 300 grand off of this. So if anyone is profiting, it’s them. Their lawyers supposedly are working “pro bono” so what are they using the 300 grand for?

We've seen 10 threads on this in the past hour and it's the same people in every thread who could not care less about anyone involved, instead, they're caught up in some weird race war. Where was this vitriol when Brett Favre stole millions from us?🤦🏻♂️

There’s a time and place for everything. Make your own post if you want to discuss that. I’d love people to post more of this topic just because I’m sick and tired of the race hustler’s out there trying to fleece people into donating for something that is not really happening. This is leading to innocent people being hurt, including the family of Nolan Wells, who won’t be able to move on in peace.

Guys why is everyone talking about this huge news story that makes my team look bad? Let’s talk about something else instead.

Yeah man just how people function. People are out here getting upset because this news story makes the wrong team look bad, but instead of adding anything of substance they just have to convey their butthurt by calling things weird as a pressure point word.

He paid back what he took. They’re now trying to get the interest off of it.

How did you get bigotry from a whiteam calling out another white man for stealing money from our state? This comment exemplifies everything I've been saying. Nothing but bots and race baiters in these Nolan threads.

Note it just came out no water or debris were found inside of him in his autopsy. That's incinsistent with drowning. ALSO what's with that phone call where his friends sound mighty sus. 911 about the boat sinking and in the background the friends are talking about how "he's dead" and "wake up" but the friend on the phone with 911 is just chill talking about the boat sinking.

Dying to know the thoughts people have here after this finding. Since everyone was so quick to say this family is grifting and we’re just delusional for thinking anything else.

How’s everyone feeling about the full autopsy report findings that were released today? About no water being found in the lungs, no pictures taken of key discoveries from the state examiner? And the forensic expert that revealed there was deleted data from his Snapchat?

It absolutely was not. We actually have no idea what was presented or how it was presented to the jury. The DA kept several things from them clearly as the autopsy report is revealing more and more. For example, how the state medical examiner said there was not trauma to the back of the head. But she didn’t take photos of this, but did for other parts of the body. There was also no water found in his lungs or throat. Exclusion only means they essentially can’t determine either way but that can be changed at any time

Truth will prevail and im sure those kids are nervous and talking too much #justice for Nolan #fakefriends

I’m still convinced that the narrative that there was no pool party that night is a lie. That was the very first thing these people wanted to “clear up” by releasing major headlines that there was no pool party that night. Everyone also dismissed Alisia Spencer (likely a cover name - Alisia —- Alias) testimony very detailed describing that Nolan got jumped at the pool that night and died. Which is why his belongings were there with those boys. It’s why the cops were on the way to the judges house. Why his body did not show up back on the island till 2 days later. The whole damn town was in on the cover up. Poor Mr Wells went to get Nolans phone after tracking it down
And said the boy was so abrasive and weird towards him. Meanwhile Nolan was dead or dying.
The judge knew

You mean the pool party photo that has already been proven to be posted days earlier on social media?
-1
u/Individual-Swan1416 25d ago
I’m just confused on how NOBODY saw ANYTHING? Nolan gets left on the island & is found dead- I’d want answers too
-1
u/FFFUUUme 25d ago
The part I'm confused about is the audio that they have of one of the friends saying they had killed him. What's up with that?

If you make a personal attack, you are getting a three-day ban. The rules are pretty simple.
