⭐ 1/5 – Very disappointing experience with Ovantica
Purchased a Google Pixel 8 for ₹30,750/-, listed on Ovantica’s app as “refurbished” and in “superb condition.”
Before purchase, I received continuous calls and WhatsApp messages from their sales team. However, after delivery, the support experience was completely different.
18th September 2026: I received the phone. On the same day, while transferring my data, the display turned green and started flickering. I immediately reported the defect to Ovantica with photos and videos and requested a pickup and full refund.
Despite repeated follow-ups, I was redirected between different teams and received very slow responses. I was unable to reach Ovantica’s team by phone, and my complaint was handled through WhatsApp messages.
30th September 2026: Pickup was finally arranged — 12 days after the defect was reported on the day of delivery.
1st October 2026: Ovantica received the defective phone. Surprisingly, I was then asked again to provide the issue details, photos and videos, despite having already submitted them on 18th September 2026.
5th October 2026: After the device was checked, I was asked to provide my bank details for the refund. I provided them as requested, and Ovantica subsequently confirmed that the refund was being processed.
7th October 2026: I finally received the refund of ₹30,750/-, two days after providing my bank details.
Overall, this process took 19 calendar days, counting both 18th September 2026 and 7th October 2026 — from reporting the defect and requesting a pickup and full refund to finally receiving my money back. It was a highly frustrating and stressful experience and also caused significant financial pressure, especially while dealing with a defective phone and waiting for the refund.
The handling of my complaint also appeared inconsistent with the customer-service/refund guidelines stated on Ovantica’s website/app, particularly considering the delays and repeated requests for information that had already been provided.
A phone advertised as “refurbished / superb condition” developing a green, flickering display on the first day, followed by such a lengthy after-sales process, was deeply disappointing.
The biggest concern was the contrast between the very active sales follow-up before purchase and the slow and frustrating support after reporting a defect.
